In my state what's printed on the card doesn't matter as long as you go online and update your address in the system. It takes 5 minutes and I can do it naked in bed.

Do people actually get challenged for street races as much as /o/ and car forums make it sound like? Only time it's happened to me has either been a joke or accidental. I drive an '04 Mustang GT with all the factory rice scoops.
One time a base Camry full of teengers starts revving at a stoplight. I shake my head and smile and they burst out laughing and waving.
Sometimes will hurry off a light to switch lanes or something and a jackass in a blacked out BMW or Infinity will peel out and go flying by me. This happens a lot and I get the feeling these guys went home and posted on their favorite forum how they just destroyed a Mustang on the street. Meanwhile I never noticed these guys and I'm trying to beat traffic to work.

Any reason for which I shouldn't go for the cheapest new tyres available for my car?
Is there any real noticeable difference between brands like michelin vs hifly?
I assume some more experienced drivers doing large millage might notice the difference, but would a person just going to work and back and not breaking speed limits ever benefit from more expensive set?

I went with my first set of higher end tires recently. pilot sport 4s
i upgraded from the 'just had new tires fitted' Chinkshit that the previous owner had on them.
I immediately felt the difference. ride felt more comfy and softer. there was no longer a whooshing sound coming for my rear left side. in not sur did I'm just imagining it or if its just placebo but I feel as though there is more of a 'stickiness' to them.
overall I don't think I will be cheaping out on tires anymore.
in fact I'm thinking of putting some nicer ones on my mothers yaris. any recommendations if it it has its stock 15 inch wheels

Alright so more expensive tyres are better, but is there a reason not to cheap out on tyres if you just want your car to get your from A to B.
I might keep my current car for maybe next year or two, so I don't want to spend too much on it.
It is also just my first car so no idea how long tyres last for. I will be doing about 8000 miles a year, mostly on a motorway at 70mph

Bought a grande punto but one of the wheels is fucked, so I'm looking for a replacement.
My wheels have a part number of 50901338, but all used ones on ebay that seem identical have a part number of 51797477.
Anyone knows how to check what the difference is? No seller bothers with detailed spec after putting part number on.

I just found out I may have autism and I am finding it hard to cope. Yesterday, on the way to night shift, I stopped next to a school-age girl and her father. She looked to be 16, which is the legal age here, so I reved my bike and nodded to her. She smiled and looked to her dad then back to me so I waved. She smiled again, but did look away. Being the responsible biker I am I popped a wheelie when the robot turn green. I came down to hard and at an angle, I just about lost it but recovered by twisting hard to get back in the air. I know she must have seen me fuck it up, so I sped away at 190kph.

I have 2012 Passat 2.5 SE, w/ 40k, and aside from the battery I replaced recently, no issues.
I keep seeing comments about them being POS's?
Is it only the turbo models, or certain years?
After a certain mileage? what?

Nope the turbos are reliable as fuck unless you are pushing more than 500hp out of the 1.8 or 2l then you start needing to look at changing some bottom end parts. I've put over 180,000 miles on a couple with only standard maintenance and the only thing that killed the first one was a truck reversing over the front of it in traffic. (It still drove but was an uneconomic repair)
