Surprisingly /o/ was very helpful last time I was interested in a classic, so now I need it again.

I'm going to go look at pic related this weekend.
What I know about the car:
-Flat Head V8/3spd column, both rebuilt 2 years ago
-built carb
-all new wiring harnesses
-will have new brake systems when I get it
-converted to 12v system
-comes with bunch of extra parts
-everything works minus gas gauge
-gas tank needs to be cleaned
-bit of rust and damage to RF fender
-worn, but complete interior
-cracked windshield and driver door window
-crappy primer paint.

All of the for $2500

Good deal or nah?
The plan is to fix the gas tank (how hard is it to clean one) and get it painted (either lots of rattle cans and tape, or maaco).

What does /o/ think?

And for those wondering, the 1958 Fairlane was a bust. Body was nice, but could barely run and the rear main seal was leaking bad.

Guy says he's getting 15 around town with this thing, in hoping 18 on highway. He's been using 87, should I try for higher grade?

Is Germany really as perfect and amazing as all burgers and leafs who visit there say it is when it comes to cars? Everyone is a perfect driver and all the slowfags bend to your every will and you can fuck with them if they step out of line? You can push you car to the limit down rural roads and never have the police or other motorist bat an eye? The roads are built so well that there's never any construction needed? Going over 100mph is only a $30 ticket? It makes me wonder why they all just don't move there if it's everything they've ever wanted and instead choose to continue to put up with how shitty North American driving culture is.

Hi everyone, let me spill the beans.
i'm looking to save up for a 2nd hand Cadillac CTS-V and buy one within the next 4 years, i'll be paying about 62-65k USD for that cos i live in israel and our car prices are depressing.

Here's the thing, i can't have it as my daily since i drive about 70 miles daily to work (35x2) and my current car is a 99 daihatsu charade which doesn't like the hill climbs and the lack of noise isolation is making the driving quality really poor (can't hear music well, the ride is loud) so i don't plan on driving it b the time i buy the Cadi,

Bottom line:
- i need a new daily NOW and i'd like to buy something that can serve me and be a family car for hte next 7-10 years.
-something that doesn't eat up the budget so i can save reliably for dat CTS-V
- the 70miles daily are done ONLY on a highway at a constant 75MPH, almost zero traffic.

I got a recommendation for a rare diesel version of a Skoda octavia (elegence trim) with 150HP which should be both easy on the hill climbs i do to work and fuel economy wise, it's a little hard to find but possible if i keep searching every day (about an 07-08)
But other than that i'm out of choices for something that is quality wise good and will do decent MPG on the highway i'm ignorant. I'm thinking maybe an audi A3 at either 1.6 or 2.0L or go really stupid and get a Cadi CTS (06) and since it's a highway hope i won't be spending tons of money on fuel.

(why CTS-V? cos it's an awesome car that can fit a family in it, it has everything i want and it's a crazy V-8, if anyone knows of a similar car i could also use the info. (not into 2 seat cars).)

Tesla is a massive scam.

They go through money like water, they lose money on the sale of every single car, they can't keep up with demand, they can't deliver product, their cars can't be repaired, EVs at the moment are totally unpractical for their target demographics because their target demographics doesn't have a garage to charge their car, people with the garage to charge the car need a bigger range because they're rural.

EVs will be a mirage until the battery problem is solved, and it won't be solved with a battery factory. Tesla is the Juicero of the car world.
>>
>>17527937
It's absurd how the taxpayers get ripped off giving billions of dollars to Elon Musk. He is a rich man after having drawn out all those investment profits from Tesla. So are those other initial investors who collect their profits as "debits" on the accounting books of Tesla corporation.

What are your guys thoughts on cracks on the sidewall of tires? Pic related is my front passenger tire, I know the cracking isn't horribly bad but I'm sure it's from the shit weather here on the east coast and being in the sun a lot. I bought my car from a Lexus dealership last October, they said it came with brand new tires and I only put around 12k miles on the car so far (I do quite a bit of driving everyday for work) My other 3 tires don't have cracking which is odd. But yeah, you think this will need to be replaced soon or should I not worry too much about it?

Cracking is normal.
>>
Thats just surface cracking on the thread. If you’re that paranoid just put the wheel on the rear
>>
>>17527730
It's only bad if the cracking extends to the contact patch or if it's so dry rotted it will crumble if you pick at it

Also there is a Launch Control feature Available.

The 'N' stands for Namyang, Hyundai Motor's global R&D Centre in Korea, where the idea was born, and for the Nürburgring, home to Hyundai Motor's European Test Centre, where the N line-up was further developed and tested. The close connection between Namyang and Nürburgring created the foundation for N, the goal being to deliver driving enjoyment. Symbolising a chicane, the 'N' logo embodies this aspect - an agile vehicle that is fun to drive - and represents the ultimate driving experience on winding roads.
