Hello guys
I saw an add of someone selling a Simca Aronde 9, for $3,500 hand it has only rolled 17000 km since its production 1952.
I have tried googling and all other adds, no matter what country i see them in, contains these cars but atleast double the money!
It was originally sold in a town just a few miles from here, so it is a local car as well!
Pic related.
So basically, would you buy this car and perhaps spend some money on it and then possibly own it/sell it for alot more one day? I need help figuring out if I should buy it or not...
EDIT: What I know about the car:
- 1952
- 5 owners
- 17000 km / 10500 miles
- Passes veichle inspection 2 months ago with clean papers
- Manual and petrol driven
- Same owner since 2011
My engine shakes when I press the clutch fast at low speeds, I dont feel anything on the pedal itself but I can hear the engine shaking.
It doesnt happen at high speed and if I press the clutch slowly the shake it's still there but much less noticeable.
Anyone with experience on this?
Pic related, my car.
Is the RPM dropping very low during idle?
How many miles?
>>17535047
give it more gas you retard
>>17535057
>>17535069
Sorry, forgot an important bit of info, the shake stops in seconds, some heavy shakes after pressing the clutch and then it stops until I have to press the clutch again.
The rpms are indeed low, idling at 500-750 rpm.
Its almost new, 3000 miles but the shake apperead this week.
Bought this as my first vehicle back in March. It's a 2001, and has 170k on it, picked it up for $3200. Clear coat is peeling, but it has no rust and only a couple minor dents. Had to replace the radiator but that's the only extra expense.
Was this a good purchase?
>>17534905
no, it's a Chrysler
I was going to laugh at the fact you bought an 01 Dakota with 170k miles until I saw it was 4 door
You did alright.
This is the ideal four-wheel-drive vehicle. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
Great thread

I agree. 4x140 scoobs are fuckin rad
Depends on the terrain. That wheelbase is a little long for certain situations.

They're less safe than sitting in a Cola can

>I doubt it will ever reach 100kmh
they actually do, even 120 but it is as frightening as riding a canonball
red pill me on the e46 325i /o/. looking to replace my current car with this one.
i've done some preliminary research into the car and know that manuals are absolutely 100% the way to go (due to reliability of automatics being trash). i also know the a/c is prone to failure, as well as some other peripherals, but nothing exceptionally expensive to fix.

I'm looking specifically at this one and think that it's quite a steal. From what I can wager, the thing'll probably need new brakes and possibly some new belts in the near future. I think this in conjunction with the fact that the bmw badge was stolen off the car is the reason why it's so cheap. I noted the front arm control bushing has been replaced which is a known problem for this model. I know to stay away if it hasn't been properly maintained. I plan on doing basic maintenance myself to save costs.
Specific car aside, what's the deal with the e46 in general? Is it a reliable daily? I've read I can expect annual maintenance to be ~$1000. What's insurance like on the 4 door? Affordable on a shitty retail job?

Get a 330ci. It's the only one non-m worth owning.
>>17534629
>red pill me
Fucking leave.
>>17534651
I don't care about the extra power, and there are no good manual examples for sale that aren't outrageously priced in my area.
Will take note and keep my eye out, tho. Thanks for the tip.
>original miles
what did they mean by this
>>17534588
The odometer works and it's on the original engine with no rebuild.
How accurate are KBB estimates for used cars?
Do they overestimate or underestimate?
Should I push a dealer for the KBB value?
>buy brand new to me car after driving some heap of shit that smelled like balls for 4 years
>driving around 3 hours later
>end up behind some faggot in a durango going 10 under the limit
>throws a huge fucking rock right into my windshield

Hah, nice thread.
Worst manufacturer defect cover up?
for example: GM ignition switch recall.
They knew it was a problem but were too cheap to deal with it.
>>17534119
>>17534125
It's not a defect if you do it on purpose.
>>17534133
Their cars makes defects anyways.
Sit down and put on your seatbelt.

heh, nothing personeZZZZZzzzzz
WhT does this sign mean?
Hazard right besides the road, absolutely stay within the lane markings. You'll also find it before narrow bridges.
>not even American and I still know because it simply makes sense
>This is a sign, not a road. Please make a note of it
>>17534001
>if you hit this sign, you'll hit these assault rocks
>TFW you realize every car either looks like shit, drives like shit or has a slew of common problems
Who invented this bullshit?
>>17533969
America
>>17533969
Soccer moms and focus groups asking soccer moms what they want in a car. Hence why the auto industry is shit now. Women are buying into the Jewish meme that is buy new more than men. So car companies stopped caring about what men want in a car.
