One of the cheapest parts for audi. Good comfort and drives well. I recommend this one. Don't buy bmw for your first car. Parts cost too much but they handle well.
Try some hatchback for first car.

I have the opportunity to buy a turbo 740 wagon for $300, have a 4 bolt sbc laying around, a th400 also laying around, a 9 inch I can get shortened, and can buy a cheap diesel turbo off a friend. How solid of a setup would this be. I have experience with building N/A high horsepower cars, but not really any with turbos.

Buy it, see what is really wrong. Fix like a quarter of the problems, then sell it for way more.. Older wagon Volvo's are going up and up in price.

240 wagons are still worth something. 740 wagons are worth absolutely nothing :(

I have an eight ball that I've had for the past three vehicles. It seemed like a tacky gift at first, but it is really nice to grip... Unless it's a hot day and you don't use a sun visor. Then it is lava.

So I've never put a car on jack stands before, and I need to get under my car tomorrow. It doesn't run so I can't put it on ramps.

I know more or less where to jack up from (rear subframe, diff, front crossmember, or two frame rails), but I'm wondering where is a good place to put the stands. How easy or hard is it to put a stand in the wrong place and either bend something or kill yourself? What's the tolerance for error here?

Here is the E30 jack points pic. technically you can use a floor jack on the pinch welds just use a piece of wood in between. might bend.

You can have a car teeter off a stand if you place it crooked and are on an uneven surface. If you use the suggested points in the pic you shouldn't have a problem. When i lift my E30 I do from diff/rear subframe or the front cross member. Hand ful of exceptions where I only need to work on one side, but it's not often.

You put it in the wrong spot on accident lets say, you'll dent your floor pan/body of the car or risk puncturing it. could also damage some hard lines running along the body of the car

Some pretty heavy hitters here: co-founded in 2007 by Sam Weng, senior director at Oracle, with financing from Tsing Capital, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking, Venrock (Rockefeller), and LeEco (which, unlike its active role in Faraday Future, is purely a minority investor).

Global and China sales is good short term but not long term IMO. In order to compete, they have to follow European standards. Like pedestrian safety and emissions. This will lead to streamlining the lineup and cucking Americans. This is why the current Mustang is so fat and heavy.

China, while their market is basically a money printing machine, the only way to maximize profit is to make cars there because they have import taxes. And at the moment we don't, so it'll probably mean more outsourcing.
>>
>Are the 2020s and on the era of American cars
No, but goddamn everyone around here drives Teslas, so there might be something there. We'll see if the Model 3 can corner what 10 years ago was the A4 and 325 market.

How bizarre would it be if Lincoln ended up selling millions in China? Nobody gives a fuck about them here in the States, although the Navigator could appeal to those too poor for a Range Rover.

Hey /o/, lugnut anon here again. I was trying to get rip of the sap on my hood with isopropyl alcohol and ducked up; now there's these giant splotches. What do? How do I not repeat this failure.

1. New paint for 5000000$?
2. Isopropyl the whole hood?
3. Fuck it, finish getting the sap off this way for a consistent fuck up?
3 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>17580513
Who the fuck told you to use isopropyl to clean sap from car paint? Brake fluid, sandpaper, and atomic bombs removes sap too, but it will wreck car paint. Just because something removes sap doesn't mean it should be used due to its viciousness on clear coat.

Car detailers sprays such as Turtle Wax ICE Detailer and Meguiars detailer remove sap from hoods and the sides of cars. They are made to not damage paint and have a bit of both wax and solvent to maintain lubrication as long as you don't press hard with a microfiber.

Before spraying, I dust the car to remove excess grainy dust. Then I spray the turtle wax detailer and wait a little bit before wiping. I know it works because the sap bumps are gone.

if autistic weaboos weren't calling it a successor to a corolla coupe, would the Toyotabaru be considered more a rwd successor to the celica or a front engine 4 seat successor to the mr2?

Umm. I do believe it was Toyota themselves that called it the ae86 successor.

The MR2 has always been the mid engined 2 seater you can afford, it's not even remotely related to the GT86.

I honestly think the boxer 4 kills it, put a goddamn toyota engine in it, it's pretty much always been their selling point. It's almost blatantly a cash grab, nobody buys an enthusiast toyota to work on a subaru engine.

And lmao swap it meme is pretty much entirely perpetuathread/17578052#p17579630ed by people who have absolutely no idea how much work that actually is.

The AE86 was a shitbox with a monster engine (for the time) that you could work on and get pretty great results. Working on a standard GT86 is like polishing a turd.
