first for why do people care about suits, gloves, boots n shit?
all I care about is not being paralyzed (which is coincidentally pursued in the same way as trying not to die, but idc about that) if I lose a foot idc, if I lose a hand it wouldn't have been safe with a glove on, if I lose skin it grows back
the only things apart from helmet and back protection that I can approve are knee shields because knees are utter crap and if they break for good you're totally fucking fucked

ITT: dumb ideas
ICE powered supercharger. Basically, you strap a small motorcycle engine just to compress air for the big main engine. Imagine like 250cc twin cyl motorcycle engine feeding a 8 liter V10 or 10 liter V12. It could weight less than turbos and make a shitload of power if tuned correctly.
>>17610456
You can't supercharge a car with ice, dumb ass
Similar idea to cylinder deactivation. What if a car has two straight six engines right next to each other. You can choose to have one or both engines on.
>>17610476
Using more than one engine on the road is illegal (surprisingly they bothered to come up with that law) that's why bike derived V8s exist, they can share one crank.

optima or duracell agm
Walmart.
Longest lasting I've ever used was Walmart brand. I don't know how or why.
I have an original VW battery from 2005 that is still going strong after 12 years, most reliable battery I've ever seen
>RWD
>2.0 tarbo
>dirt cheap if used
>even cheaper with the manual option
>decent interior

>first owner is a nigger that thrashed the car and neglected it, didn't pay up on his car loan cuz WE WUZ KANGZ, causing Uncle Sam to repo it

Depend on price. If it is below 10K, then I would buy it without hesitation. Perfect beater car.
It's only got 33% of the displacement it needs.
I recently bought a 2007 Golf GTI, and it came with this remote. I have no clue what it is or what it does, or how to look it up, wondering if anyone knows or can help me!
>>17609719
The icons of each function should be self explanatory.
>>17609719
Its probably for whatever sound system it has/had in it. Congrats on the GTI, may it bring you many miles of joy
>>17609732
I understand, but it doesn't seem to work, and I can't look it up, since I don't know what the remote is called.

jokes on you mate, in your lifted Toyota Hilux.
My Honda Jazz is insured, I have a dash cam and It's a piece of shit. I'm desperate for some cunt to merge into it so I can get a new bumper and paint job.
Further, my econobox is worth alot less than your pretty ute.

This is surprisingly difficult to answer
my favorite car is one that isn't plastered with instagram whores
I know that probably none of you ever came across engine like mine, but all and all engines are pretty the same.
So i have this 3 cylinder turbocharged suzuki engine. K6A. They put them in a lot of their kei cars and recently caterham started to put them into their base model Seven.
Engine is restricted to 64 hp as kei car laws require. I am quite ok with how it drives and all i just wish i had it easier when going uphill. There is one guy who did some expensive mods and got 108 hp out of same engine, but i don't have that kind of money. Caterham version of engine produces around 84 hp or so.
Engine is full stock with only rear half exhaust being stainless supertrapp fart can. There are no one to punish me for "illegal" engine modification here, so i can go as retarded as i want to. I just don't want it to affect engine durability too much. So i tend to leave stock filter. I do change oil quite often, 2150 miles or so.
So we have here small 0,66 liter turbocharged engine. Will cutting out cat help much? Or will it only work if i do full straight exhaust made out of wider pipe including exhaust manifold?
The most obvious way would probably be raising turbine pressure? I just don't want it to be too much stress for engine.
Just want to hear your opinions.

We like hatchbacks and SUVs with AWD, RWD doesn't work that well in the deep slush
Trucks too, especially outside cities
need advice for my first car /o/, ive read the sticky but im still lost
I have like $3-4k, and basically have 2 options, get a cheap car off craigslist or one from carmax that would
be around $10k and would then require monthly payments as well as the down payment
im mainly seeking advice for the first option since its what im leaning towards/would prefer, but im
also curious as to what the monthly cost would be on it(maintenance and other needs)
leaning towards pic related, or another cheap and easy to maintain car, that would take me from point a to b,
and be automatic(yeah i know), but any other first time buying advice would be appreciated, thanks
local craigslist is https://nashville.craigslist.org/search/cta

If you want an automatic, you don't want a Honda. They're KNOWN for failing. Instead, look for a Nissan Maxima, Chevy Cavalier/Pontiac Sunfire, Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable, or Toyota Corolla
Why don't they put flight control surfaces on indy cars (or anything else) and do stunt jumps where they then land on all four wheels?
>>17609335
Why don't they have roll cages that can keep a driver scratch free when going 300 mph to 0 in the blink of an eye?
>>17609491
Good question
>>17609335
long time indy fan and this idea sounds like it was dreamed up by a teenager.
don't get me wrong kid i had an overactive imagination as well, but i guess i didn't have an outlet to share the nonsensical things that popped in my head.
going into the air is bad, staying on the ground is good. if this happened people would die.
Is FWD really as bad as everyone says??
>>17609334
yes, the second you sit in the car you will understeer into the ocean
>>17609334
Yes, even with all the hype and marketing to try to make FWD cool, the second you're behind the wheel and hit the limit you feel like absolute shit.
A lot of people on /o/, and the internet in general will shit on things that they have no experience with. Just to feel slightly less like a shit fuck in a shit box

Hey friends
Has anybody here built their own electric motorcycle from a frame?
Any guides/tips?
Or is this more of a /diy/ thread
Pretty sure there are kits for that, samer if you want a single cylinder gas motor
>>17609205
I've always wanted to do that but with go kart. I'm bumping your thread to update the possibility of someone posting a kit/schematic? All the kits I've googled are like, really crappy slow or children's karts. Looking for legitimate track capabilities.
>>17609509
I don't think it's possible on the cheap but who knows
