I see lots of luxury wagons in Canada and a few Golf wagons. They're usually driven by old people. Most people hate wagons because of the station wagons they grew up with. They were the equivalent of driving a minivan today.

then there's the electronics (the car will still run relatively ok but will annoy the shit out of you)
you can find cheaper ones around

I had a Tercel, and I can report that Tercels tend to burn oil and die early; their engines are not robust enough to be called reliable. But, the Paseo had a better engine. Not sure it was THAT much better because I see a lot more old Hondas and Nissans than these, but it's a start.
Don't expect any crash safety.
It should be genuinely fun to drive and a decent handler. It was one of the better manual steering racks I've experienced.

Looking to buy my first car to start flexing out in public and drifting.
I'm mainly looking for Japanese-make RWD cars made in the mid 80s - early 90s. Here are a couple cars I have written down on hand that I potentially wanna cop.

With each generation, this car gets a tiny bit more power and weight increase to offset it, so it hasn't really evolved in 20 years when it comes to performance. Ford and Honda are making more power out of less displacement for the same MSRP. This is their halo car, when is Subaru finally going to step things up?

Which Volvo? I have pic related and I love the stock rims, don't feel like they need to be changed at all, I'm probably going to get the alloys refurbished and maybe even painted black because of how good it'll look with the yellow calipers.
basically get black rims if you can, but dont over-do it on the style, with most volvo's the stock rims are a perfect match, if you have silver side mirrors like mine, the rims in OP would go well colour-wise

The SportKa is a true choice of the dedicated weekend racer. It's agile chassis, along with it's dynamic styling make it a truly under rated hot hatch.
It's true, some people dismiss it as it's "just a Ka" but this little pocket rocket is the choice of professionals. Anyone driving a SportKa is defiantly a man of excellent taste.
