I like em.
My question: How hard is it really to keep a classic car on the road. Not terribly old, I'm just thinking of like a 30 year old car. If you daily drive a 30 year old car, are you working on your car every week? Every month? Can you just replace everything that degrades with age and have it be as reliable as ever? I don't need answers to the specific questions, just looking for the general consensus of someone who drives older cars.

yes
What.
Is this true or is it anime bullshit?

You'd be surprised how much of Initial D is true, there's a bit of exaggerated bullshit here and there but for the most part it's spot on.

>Spray carb cleaner around the base of the carb, where the manifold interfaces with the head, et cetera.
Yep, there was a leak at the base. Thought I had the adapter plate down tight but apparently not. Works better now, though still has a bit of a bog, though much more manageable than before.
My Bronco really used to be a fucking pile

Well now that you've corrected the vacuum leak your tune may no longer be correct.

hey /o/, just got my 2nd car ever, first rwd stick shift car that I want to work on and put some money in. It's a 96 Miata. What should I do first? It was maintained fine, kept mostly stock besides a glass window instead of plastic, and still pretty low miles.
I was thinking
>new stereo (stereo is currently broken)
>a few /osg/ sticks
>new rims / tires
>roll bar
what would y'all recommend?
>>17686698
Keep it stock, stop ruining good cars
If you really want to, upgrade the suspension for better handling
>>17686714
I'm not gonna hoon it, but the stock rims are fucking ugly and a roll bar would just be for safety because convertible. Also the radio was already upgraded, it's just not working. Might look into suspension though
>>17686737
>I'm not going to hoon it
thats what they all say
What did he mean by this???
It probably reduces drag a little bit.
>>17686412
what's the fucking purpose of downforce on a truck? they can't turn and they struggle to exceed 100 mph due to huge amounts of drag
>180k+ miles on a 00' bmw
>1st gear grinds at 3k rpm
>burnt smell outside of car
>grinding noise when I switch between drive, park, and reverse
Do I change the transmission fluid or not, guys? I have no way of finding when it was last changed and I know bmw's "lifetime fluid" is bs but if I change it theres a chance that the shit will start slipping but I'm also trying to keep a $300 problem from becoming a $4000 problem. I need advice you guys I love this car and want to keep it around for as long as possible.
>pic unrelated but maybe eventually
You should check if theres actually any fluid left inside. Transmission leaks can be pretty sneaky.

Do you find this impressive? I'm not a car person but I can see how someone can like working with engines ect. However designing an engine to be loud so it sounds "cool" seems like a retarded nigger-tier thing to do. Yet I see these fuckers everywhere and my car-loving friends seem genuinely impressed by this. Is this the popular opinion here or are they normies?
I'm talking shit like this. It's just obnoxious.

I used to have a neighbor that would go to work at 6am with his loud ass motorcycle. It would literally shake my windows in the morning when he left. I kept hoping he would die in an accident but it never happened.

why is it Harley riders cant just ease on/off the throttle just enough as needed while shifting, getting up to proper speed or downshifting to come to a stop?
no. instead, no matter what the fuck they are doing they are constantly goosing the throttle for no other reason than to hear their own pipes and force everyone else to hear their retarded juvenile shit.

I absolutely adore cars like the Delta 88 from this era.
>>17684797
my thoughts exactly. plus the popups are super nice imo. the next question if you guys say it's a good idea would be what about for a first car in the UK? would the insurance on a newly passed driver be obscene or reasonable to keep on the road combined with any other costs an old car might entail
GM does it again
