In this world pushing for equality, Why is it socially acceptable for a girl to not have her own car or even know how to drive....yet it is heavily frowned upon of a guy doesn't have his own car and even worse if he doesn't know how to drive at all.
Honestly anon, I'm not sure that it is. This isn't something that I've ever heard of.
Op you've lived under a rock for the last 5 years? Millennials don't give a fuck to cars or driving whatsoever.
>>17711756
Tons of millennials do its just cityfags that don't
So /o/, this is my first time posting here. Just generally asking what in the ever loving name of fuck happened to my 2000 Chevy Blazer.
I want to preface this entire thread with; I don't know anything about cars other than how to change oil, maintaining fluids, how to take off a flat tire and other extremely basic things.
I got my radiator tank and anti-freeze tank (I think?) replaced by a mechanic, just got my Blazer back a couple of days ago. First time driving it past 50mph since I got it back, also first time driving it longer than five miles in one go.
I went to my friend's house, went inside, and 30 minutes later, the car was engulfed in fire, which made the car next to it (my friend's) catch on fire as well. Called Fire Department immediately, and fortunately they got there before the fire spread to either of our gas tanks.
I have a few pictures with me right now, but the car is at my friend's, otherwise I'd take more photos to share.
I'm assuming it was the radiator, but I'd like some input from someone that actually knows something about cars. And no, I didn't notice if it was overheating or not, didn't smell anything like smoke or burning plastic when I got turned it off and got out of it.

Hi /o/,
I want to start an automotive blog. Or rather, I already have a bit ago and am looking for advice from experienced video bloggers.
As of now, the blog basically reposts news from mainstream media sources. Sometimes I make comments, but I intend to do some more in-depth posting once I get access to vehicles and parts. I know this can take time and hard work, but what I need to know is how to do this? Cold calling places has resulted in exactly zero gain of vehicles and parts. I'm pretty much the only friend in my group into cars, so I can't hit them up. I've joined TONS of local groups but so far nobody has committed to even showing up for a brief interview/photo shoot (I mean they get a free photo shoot. Why not show up?!). And I can't get any sponsorship or advertising commitment. I understand it is because I have no established following, yet. But how do I get the momentum going? I'm looking for experienced advice on how to officially get moving forward.
Right now I have a facebook account, a DriveTribe account, and a youtube account. I have a few questions.
How do you profit from facebook? Do they use adsense and affiliate links? How do you set all that up? I googled it and got a lot of really bad information that got me nowhere. Do you have experience with this?
How do you profit from youtube? I have an adsense account set up, but nothing going yet. Can I get general advice here? Pro tips?
Does paying facebook for "views" and "placing your ad in front of eyes" work? Is it worth it?
What would you recommend to focus on to achieve the goals below?
>>17711278
My goals are simple.
1. Establish a following of 25k a month.
2. Make my way to $2000 a month in profits.
3. Re-invest the money gained in OC content, likely locally to start, and trips eventually. I'd like to start working on an actual show I would like to produce/direct.
4. Work my way to $10k a month in profit and whatever it may take to achieve this goal. I know this is more wishful thinking, but I hear so many success stories but nobody ever says how they got there. I can't help but feel like they were spoon fed their success. But again, I'm inexperienced, so I very well could be missing something.
I am new to this, but not to cars or filming. Just looking at getting the momentum going so I can come out with some great content that I have yet to see on any blog or car show so far. Can I get some advice?
give up while you're ahead
you have no clue how hard it is to make a living off of automotive journalism/blogging. do something more reasonable and productive with your time
>>17711450
Nah, I enjoy it. So I will keep at it. Feel free to leave some real advice, though.
I make $14 an hour and have about $2 grand saved. I also have a loan for up to $15,000 approved. Convince me not to buy a used E46 M3 right now /o/.
you're going to blow $2k in the first two months on the engine/electronics. Don't touch an old m-car unless you buy the thing outright
>2 grand saved
easily have repairs that cost half that for minor shit. Don't be an idiot, buy something you can afford and is practical.

so an acura tl is the other option I was thinking of

This is the interior of a 25k Mazda. Post something nicer that's under 40k.

This is an NB miata. interior is fully customized.

how does /o/ feel when rich parents buy their 16 year old daughter/son the sports car they've always wanted as their first car?
personally it pisses me off. That is the epitome of being a spoiled little cunt and ill advised parenting. I may be poor and you may think I'm jealous but if I had kids and I was a billionaire, the least they would get from me would be a used, disposable piece of garbage.
Sorry to hear your parents didn't love you enough, OP

have a $80 used but good clutch I got off ebay for my 300zx. Going to put it in a few weeks so I can just drive the car again. I graduate next Summer and will hopefully start full time at John Deere and around then I want to sell the car and buy a BRZ/FRS to set up for road race/autocross
Hey /o/ i want a rwd for 3k (or less) that i can wrench on. Any suggestions?
Look for a stock IS300 or GS300. It might be pushing the 3k limit but they're right around there in price.
Location?

Proof positive that Europeans are fucking stupid and needlessly over complicate everything.
>>17714570
if anything that proves american are too stupid to engineer complex things
no wonder americans never get first place in global motorsport
No shit. They're also stupid enough to run 220v to every socket.
Nah, just VW. Here's what a non-retarded DOHC timing chain setup looks like.
