Went on a 2 hour drive through some mountains and small towns with a friend on Labor Day. Had a great time, probably going to run it again sometime soon. There's another route I've found that's about 2 hours longer total drive that I want to check out as well.
Lets hear your driving stories /o/. Share your experiences, any pictures you've taken, the routes you drive, what car you use, etc.
The route we took is a lot of dense forests due to state parks, plenty of twisties and turns, not a whole lot of traffic either (especially considering it was Labor Day). Didn't see any cops at all the entire drive. There were a lot of motorcycles though. A lot of great spots for pictures too. Fun trip.

If I'm looking to buy a newer car that I plan on keeping for 10-15 years, can I go wrong with a Corolla?
>>17826038
just get a civic for 3k.
>>17826038
Keeping a car for 5+ years isn't about the make or model, it's about how much work you're willing to put in on it/how much money you're willing to drop on it.
All cars start to hiccup after 5 years of normal use.
Corollas are no better than any other car. If you want that famed Toyota reliability look for a Camry.
That said most modern cars will do you well so long as you TAKE CARE OF IT. Change the oil, do the timing belt, rotate the tires, clean off the road salt after driving in the winter especially in the rear wheel arches. Nothing lasts forever but if you nurture your car then it'll last you a good while.
Does fiat even quality test their cars?
Evidently not, and I guess /o/ doesn't quality test it's posts

At what point will tires just no longer be able to perform to the vehicles potential?
hey /o/ im building a rallycross car and was wondering if there is any bmw guys here. basically the restriction for my class are non turbo cars with discplacement of up to 2500cc. i was thinking of a bmw m50b25 engine, or a m50b20 with a crankshaft of a bigger engine with different strokes, so basically what im asking is, whats should i do to make the most non turbo power out of a 2.5 liter m50. i will be making the car 4wd with difs and driveshafts from a x5 btw. also, youre free to give me suggestions for any other platforms to use.
1. buy M52B25
2. add M50B25 intake manifold
3. add cold air intake
4. remap/chip tune

After driving a crossover for almost 5 years now, every time I get in and out of car, it feels like I'm ducking in or climbing out of a tiny 2 feet tall clown car. How do you fags even deal with this shit? Oh wait lemme guess, you are all manlets under 5'8".

I'm looking to purchase either a 4runner or xterra and would like you guy's input/opinion. I got a couple questions for ya'll:
Why the huge price difference? Xterras are almost half the price of 4runners and 6-8 year newer.
Which is the most reliable? Which has the better aftermarket support? Which is the easiest to work on?
All my research suggests 4runners are the winner in these questions but I would like input from xterra owners.
>What will you be using it for?
I just moved to the mountains for work, and I'd like to drive on some of the more neglected Forest Service roads without getting stuck on waterbars or ruts (again). Snow should be falling around October so I need to prepare for that too, mostly since I'd like to go on some snow parks.
Thank you for all your help. My budget is around $8K
How does the Toyota of 2017 compare to the Toyota of 1997?
Has their build quality and safety lasted?

My 2003 expedition is very rough on bumps. My suspension almost doesn't absorb any bumps. Also I have vibration starting at 50mph. I got one of my ball joints and 2 bearing changed, but the problem remains. When I got my suspension lubricated, the problem was gone for a couple of days. Need help
>>17824376
Has your car changed in ride height? If yes, it's the springs.
Otherwise have the shocks and their bushings checked out.
You can do a visual inspection yourself. If the shocks are leaking oil or smell like gas when compressed, or the rubber is cracked and hard.
>>17824376
That is probably the gayest Expedition I've seen in a while.
