Quick question. I'm talking with a salvage yard to buy a used engine, and I asked if it was still in stock before I drove 80 miles to get it. Here's his response:
We have the 5sfe off.
I know that 5sfe is the engine, but what is he talking about when he says they have the engine off? Does that just mean it's already removed from the donor car? Sorry it's such a dumb question. Also, pic entirely unrelated.
Sounds like they took it out of the car. Junk yard guys are Neanderthals so it's hard to say for sure. Might also imply he'll charge more or it's first come first serve.

Junkyard guys are literally prehistoric, the only instance of homo erectus alive. We completely turned our brains off as soon as we got on the lot, so that could mean anything from ready, to out of the donor car, or not existing.
t. worked junkyards a few summers

I was afraid of that. Still, thanks for the feedback. I'm just gonna head down tomorrow and see what happens. Wish me luck!
is it gay to wear driving gloves? my ogre hands get sweaty while driving so I'm thinking of getting mechanix gloves for more grip
Those aren't for driving though.
Just get a steering wheel cover that matches your interior and offers better grip.

Driving gloves are necessarily gay but using Mechanix for driving gloves is pretty gay.

Is this correct pressure? for r16 2.6/2.4bar seems way to much. Am i missing something?
I mean the car is not light around 1500kgs.. but still it is just a small hatchback
Thats total ok.
Drive same car with same pressure.
I need you help, i've been looking for proper references for a 3d animation project and I wanted to sample the bike used in "Light Up the Night" By protomen. (Pic related)
So far I think its a Triumph but not sure.

What to do about brake squeal? I've had the brakes checked when I rotated my tires a couple of months ago and the guys said my brakes are good and still have 60-70% left of use. Yet, they still squeal like a motherfucker. Especially when the car is cold and only been running for 5-10 mins. What could be the cause of this? Is it something stupid like a pebble stuck somewhere. Help please!
Best job is to get some copper grease on the piston side of the pads and a light smear should be enough to allow restrained movement of the pads and so dampen the squeal. Sorted.

You queef

There's not always an easy solution to brake squeal, it could have several possible causes. You just need to run through everything until you solve the problem
Hey boys, a while ago I made a thread about my 1989 Escort which was having some issues starting up. Since then I rebuilt my carb and clutch and now the car runs better and faster than ever.
Only issue remaining is the blowby, which I assume could be getting worse since today there was oil on the dipstick seal, still not enough to push out any caps or cause any leaks.
I need this car to last me one year before I can have money to do a full rebuild and convert it to a weekend warrior... In the next couple of months im planning on buying some coilovers and sitting it down a couple of inches, but I wont spend that money if it is needed elsewhere to keep the car running...
Is that blowby gonna kill my engine? Does it get worse over time and is it THAT bad to keep daily-ing the car with blowby?
Thanks bros
>>17842188
weekend warrior in the sense of a car that I drive on the weekends.......
>>17842203
Please do not do what this picture shows, that car is so beautiful stock.
>>17842223
Yeah I know, that is too much, I want it looking exactly stock but a tiny bit lower just for handling

I remember seeing a thread a long while ago that showcased a website that contained very very cheap essentially brand new cars that had something like a suicide happen in them. I think they cleaned them though. They were incredibly cheap, and right now I'm looking for a deal, i really dont care if someone overdosed or blew their brains out in a car, i just need to drive.
Its called Craigslist.

If Initial D were set in modern times, how would drivers be able to afford modern Japanese sport cars like the LFA, NSX, and GTR?
