Why have they not made a "hot hatch"/"sport" version of this car yet?
Because hot hatches are slow and expensive.
pretty sure they did
Chebby has no interest on performance car other than muh corvette, they only care about soulless commuter cars and SUVs
A huge part of Honda's appeal has always been their dependable, trouble-free nature. Sure, they've had hiccups along the way (mainly with with their automatic transmissions), but by and large they have maintained a level of reliability the past 3-3.5 decades that most other automakers must envy.
My question is, is that still true? Are Honda's more reliable than the average new car sold today? All I see whenever I visit the Honda or Acura forums are issues. Lots of them. Sure, people go online to complain, but their JD Powers/CR scores seem to have slipped on various models over the last few years as well. I am guessing that adopting a plethora of new turbo engines, transmissions and technology within the last 3-4 years is taking its toll. Perception hasn't quite caught up with this as I still see many people list reliability as a reason to get a Honda over a Hyundai, Kia or Nissan.
What say you? Anyone here have any personal experience based on ownership or from working at a dealership service center?
My last experience was with my 2013 Accord Sport. Some major went wrong with that car, electrical and engine problems. It also did have some infotainment glitches and weird annoyances along with some super cheap interior materials that started to wear noticeably after 18 months of normal use.
They never were. Muh Jap reliability is myth created by poorfags trying to justify their purposes.
If they manufacture the B16 and the K20 engine blocks I will have no problems with Honda
>>17745389
hmm... I see that. I will try KIA out.
hey guys I own a 1998 z3 and its my first car. I was gifted it as a present for my 16th bday from my grandparents. They bought it factory new in 98, its had several shop work on it since it was purchased for everything from an oil change to a new inner door panel, a new bumper and several new soft tops. my problem and confusion lies in the ECU, I was just fiddling around in the trunk trying to learn the ins and outs of my car and i came upon the ECU. im not joking when I say only 4 wires actually connected and it seems like another 30 either cut or unplugged :dunno: (see images) Im extremely confused. further background info it seems to run perfectly fine, the alarm system doesn't seem to work and i can't get the key fab to work nor can i get the car to go into the sort of '' learn mode'' to pair the key fab through the open close sequence. it does respond to the key fab with what only can be described as an audible chirp, i can also get it to panic through the key fab but nothing else.
basically to sum up im asking if this is even close to normal. should I invest in a new ECU, wiring, and tune? (its still completely stock as far as performance and bodywork goes.)
Learn to read schematics and use brand and model specific forums, NOT /o/ which is for shiposting.
When you post to real forums, post YEAR, MAKE, MODEL as appropriate with maximum useful details. You may find factory service manual downloads on some forums. You won't find them here.

They don't put ECU's in the trunk lol
That's an amp or some shitty car alarm
Whoever "gifted" that to you, Does not love you.
Have any of you ever been at fault in an accident before?
I apologised straight away and completely admitted I fucked up to the other driver and luckily the damage was minor, just a scratch, so she was understanding and said she's happy to just settle this without getting insurance involved if I am too.
I feel like such a retard though, I am such a shit driver.
their called accidents for a reason anon. its ok.
>>17745370
ive lost my no claims bonus though
>>17745370
Yeah because people don't want to call them killings anymore like they used to be.
It's never an "accident". At least one party is always at fault
Would you steal an abandoned car?
no because I'm not a nigger
>>17745267
this
No, but I would jump through many hoops to adopt an abandoned Skyline though.
Why are the Germans unable to craft their own design instead of copying from the Italians?
Yeah, let's (((tribute))) the Alfa Romeo Spider Osso di seppia
>1960
Have you never seen concept cars? You will never see this shit again. And there were a bazillion of other designs like this before
Im newly getting into cars, after I found out my dad is giving me his corvette. Is this a classic and should be left alone or can it go through some potential upgrades? If so, what can be done?
This is is as close of a picture I can find to the real thing.
Dude mod the fuck out of that old piece of shit.
It's not worth anything so you can only be making it better.
get some DUB rims, a nitrous oxide kit, and a k20a2 engine swap from an integra type r
thats what all the corvette nuts do anyway
>>17744815
If it's a smog-era C3, there's no real harm in modding the fuck out of it since those things were completely choked from the factory.
>it's an episode of: Americans pronounce 'coupé' as 'coup'
why is this a thing???
>>17744764
"coop", not "coup"
coup is pronounced "coo"

>Can this day get any worse?
Driving in downtown
Car starts dying and stalling
Didn't pay attention to the battery dummy gauge on the dash
Battery is dead, stuck on the side of the road
Fixed and back on the road in 45min
Any other stories of being stuck and fixing your car?
>>17744718
>Any other stories of being stuck and fixing your car?
No, I drive a Toyota
>>17744718
how exactly did you "fix" a dead battery?
I didn't drive it, but I was the one who had to get it out. 1.5 miles into the forest, middle of mosquito hell. Managed to drive my pickup most of the way into the forest, with all the tools and stuff
Nigger-rigged the fuel system by using a ketchup-bottle with a hose rather than the pump, which I could tell was missing a lot of pressure, and drove it out with one hand holding the bottle and one operating the throttle. Had to constantly stop and let the bottle get some air into it, and press hard on it to make the fuel go properly into the system
What about ford focus mk1?
Does it really mater which 3k€ 100hp FWD shitpile with poverty-grade suspension you're going to drive?
>>17744463
1k€* shitpile. And yes, it does matter for me

The 1990's have long passed, sadly.

Anyone have experience with a car "buying" service like Costco or True car? From what I gather it's a hit or miss, and you may be able to talk the deal down even more, since obviously there is some commission being paid to the service. I'm a shitty negotiator and complete autist so it seems like it could be a good thing for me.
> implying anyone on /o/ has bought a new car
> just buy a 3k civic
Costco will get you a bit off, but you should still try to jew them down more past that point. Can't hurt, right?
>>17745243
They'll just tell you to eat shit. They have a line out the door of morons just dying to do business with them.
>>17744289
Eh. Depends on your ability to play the negotiations game and your patience for unnecessary bullshit. If your good at it and can walk away from anything, then personal negotiating can be better. If you just want a car and for the whole thing to be over and done then Costco might be the way to go.
Sup /o/
So I'm on the hunt for a new car right now and I need some suggestions on what to look for. I'm comfortable financing up to 25k, but my main concern is insurance costs. I have an agreement that my dad will put it under his name to get better rates so long as its not rediculous, for reference I'm 22 with a spotless record and good credit. Here are the Criteria
> Good Handling
> AWD preferred
> Needs to have a Trunk
> Newer, under 40k miles
> Not gonna Murder my insurance rates
I've been looking at the Audi A3 2.0 Quattro, but I'm not sure how that's gonna do insurance wise. Any other suggestions?
If insurance is a factor, just get a V6 Camry XLE and enjoy the comfy, quick, nice ride. Insuring a luxury german car with a powerful motor is not cheap senpai.
Lexus GS 350 is a sweet ride. Check insurance rates on whatever your choices are. An Audi A6 shouldnt be toooo bad.
>>17744182
I've tried the Camry route, I hated the steering on it, or I would have gone that route, I haven't looked at Lexus yet. Also any reason the A6 would have cheaper rates than an A3?
Also, It just popped into my head, what would be the running costs of a 328I?
Which radar detector do you use?
Have you gotten a ticket since you've had it?

Can anyone redill me out of buying this 2015 Golf TSI S?
I'm seriously considering taking the 50 mile drive and test drive and buying it if I like it.
170 HP 200 Torque, 4 doors for better insurance prices and grocery space.
It's 30k miles for $14k
And I picked the wrong image. Stupid phoneposter.
>>17743726
because you could get an infiniti m45 with cooled seats for the same price.
