Will we ever get a mainstream electric car with a manual transmission?
nope
>>17751657
why? even with a DC motor that has a short RPM range, you'd only need 2-3 gears
>>17751657
Closest you're going to get is a Honda Insight hybrid but that transmission sucks from what I've heard.
As far as I know most pure electric cars (outside Formula E and some prototypes) have 1 gear ratio and are direct drive.
Just drove a 2008 m5 today and it was... kind of disappointing to be honest. It made you feel like you were going fast when you weren't. Dont get me wrong the extra features were cool for driving in general but I took it to the same road that i hit 120mph in my 323i on and it couldn't even make it to 100 without reaching the end. It just felt slow as hell and the turning angle was like half of my car's.
I get that 5 is luxury but you'd think that a 9yo v8 would be faster or at least turn better than my 17yo v6.
>Weight to hp ratio
Also
>Same road
For all the world knows that's a highway pull with some sweepers.
>>17751631
>9yo v8
>in a 2008 m5
>17yo v6
>in a 323i
I'm being baited aren't I?
>>17751913
>v8
>v6
you were wrong twice in that post lol.
OP probably just sucks at driving, the M5 has 340hp more than the 323i.
I do agree that the turning radius is much bigger on the E60 than E46
t. owner of 3 E36's, 4 E46's and a E60
I ordered a new pair of gas tank straps for my car. And I was sent this compact spare tire by mistake. Should I send it back, or should I place a new order for the stripes I need and keep it?
Email the company, chances are they'll send your straps and let you keep the tire. Worst case scenario, they pay to ship it back
I have emailed them, they said if I sent it back they will refund my purchase but I have to pay half of the return shipping. They also didn't say anything about sending my straps when they get it back
>>17751609
Yeah, nah, fuck that noise. Send them this link https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0181-unordered-merchandise and thank them for the free spare tire, then tell them if they don't send you the straps you ordered you'll file a chargeback and take your business elsewhere. If they want the tire back they get to pay for the shipping, and it sounds like you're fine with that, so they should just be apologetic for wasting your time instead of fraudulently billing you for their mistake.

Tell me i'm out of line /o/, but does 1200 seem like a little much for this?
I guess chalk it up to rustbelt"over 20 years old and not full of holes must be worth a lot" tax, but I can't tell if seller is a retard or not
>>17751470
>shitty aftermarket hubcaps
>dat spelling/grammar in the listing
>duct tape on the air intake
it's trash. get a civic for 2500-3k
A grand is not out of the ordinary for any automobile that runs and drives.
>>17751508
Thanks anon for the sharp eyes. Solo hunting for cars is hard because you can get your vision clouded by accessibility rather than whether its a good choice or not.
Also inspection was out 2 months ago so there's gotta be a reason why that is.
His reply email was rife with poor grammar and he gave off that "I kno wat i got price firm" kinda vibe
Is this a gtr?
>>17751380
It looks like a regular GTS.
>>17751380
AMG GT
>>17751380
does it lose to the vette?
if so, yes.
Would you rather buy a car made in India or China?
>>17751212
Well I guess since most of my other shit was made in China I would pick Chinese. They make elevators and escalators that literally eat people alive.
But India? They haven't even stopped being eaten by large snakes and tigers. I saw a news story today where a woman was eaten in the streets by two pigs.
>>17751212
China
I don't want the stench in the new car cuz POOINALOO dont need to shower themselves often.
Neither
What's a good truck to be be able to tow my jeep around?
Preferably single cab
Budget is $10k
Get yourself a mid to late 90s C1500.
>>17751014
You must've meant 2500HD
>>17751224
He said tow a jeep not an Abrams tank.
Do you love your car, /o/?
No, it's a lazy faggot.
>>17750973
That tailpipe at the end is lewd
>>17750977
I own a W-body and that car is described as pretty lazy but i guess its not as lazy as your old caddy.
0-60 low 7s ain't bad either.
>go to car show
>looking at a vehicle I know a lot about and notice several interesting features
>see owner sitting by his car
>mumble "n-nice car" nervously
>he looks at me says "thanks" and turns away
I shouldn't go outside.
>>17750869
You probably saved yourself from sperging out which would havw been worse
>>17750869
I want an RX-7 with an LS1 engine and a C5 corvette with a 5 rotor motor.
I want to take them both to car shows to make everyone upset.
>>17750869
Look up Jordan Peterson on YouTube
I hope you find happiness
What do you guys think?
92 E34 535i with 225k miles
I offered 3k, he accepted, but after poking around, I'm not seeing anything really going for that high. And if it does, it has way less miles, like ~150k.
Its been well taken care of, and he has service records.
>>17750795
its worth it if he throws in the kitty too
>>17750795
You offered 3k, he accepted, and you pulled out?
You're a real fuckin jew bud
>And if it does, it has way less miles, like ~150k
Take a minute to think about why that may be.
Is is safe/possible to sand glazed brake pads?
I still have about 6 months left on these.
>>17750658
Sure, why wouldn't it be? Probably want to use something stronger than sand paper though.
They aren't even expensive though.
>>17750663
I still want to save $60 on Power Stops.
What are the best and worst trucks/brands for trucks? I want a midsize truck thats reliable obviously. Also semi decent on gas, so v6. I need it to be able to safely tow a trailor and car at least. I dont want a really long bed.
Ill be buying used. Almost all the trucks i come across in my price range (12k) have a tremendous amount of miles already. So im scared ill get one thats on its death bed.
Why does everyone make fun of ford trucks?
If you can wrench at all, I'd suggest getting something from the 90s. You can't go wrong with most trucks built from that era if they are in decent shape at all.
C1500s and F-150s had bulletproof engines. Rangers and hardbodies are nice if you wanted something smaller.
My Silverado made it to 253k miles with minimum repairs and was still going when I sold it.
you cant kill a dodge you can try
For most 80s-90's models, the V6 gets maybe 1 MPG more than the V8, while having a lower towing capacity and far less power.
V6 full-size trucks are a meme.
I'm thinking of doing so to make some extra cash. Figure I can pull in an extra 10K yearly if I make a profit off one car per month. Anyone here know this kind of thing?
Maybe you should go easy on the carrots.
The government only allows you to sell a certain amount of cars to prevent Jews like you.
>>17750522
That's a big bunny
I noticed a leak in the fuel line a couple of days ago, and I was wondering about fixing it. Is it easy to just do myself? I have little car knowledge. If not, about how much would it be to get it replaced at an auto shop?
Pic related, my dad taped over the leaky part yesterday, but that didn't do much
>>17750514
that's more likely your PCV hose sucking oil and spitting it out.
fuel lines aren't connected to your intake, especially not right next to the MAP/MAF
>>17750514
That's not a fuel line. It's a breather/PCV line. Your PCV valve might be bad and letting crank pressure blow oil into the intake.
>>17750629
>>17750555
So what's my next course of action then? Take it to the shop?
i want to build a lateral g-force sensor that can play the "this miata's drifting!" soundbyte from this video when it detects a certain amount of lateral gs
