Buy a police car crown Vic for $2k
>high flow air filter
Is this a meme? Should I buy it for my econobox? I live in the desert and have to replace my filter every 10,000 miles so the fact that you can just wash it out instead of buying a new one is nice, but i'm wondering if it actually makes any performance difference at all.

>but i'm wondering if it actually makes any performance difference at all.
on a shit box probably not
>>17756551
The only thing you will gain is dirt in your engine
I noticed about a 3mpg increase when I changed to a better, reusable air filter, and a little more responsiveness from the car, but not sure about horsepower. Then again I drive a newer car and used a factory upgraded air filter so I don't know about the one in your photo
My a/c smells like gas fumes when I turn it on, but the smell goes away when I turn on air recirculation. What do? It's a 2000 Jetta
>>17756482
Your car is gonna blow up lmao
>>17756514
How do i not make this happen sir
Just drive without a/c on you'll be fine

>>17756150
I just repress the thought.

>>17756193
patrician taste my guy, my achievable dream car is a FD
The scariest experience you can ever have is driving on country roads in the pitch black in an unfamiliar town looking for a gas station without any phone reception and with the tank running empty.
I saw the spook lights
>>17756068
My scariest experience is being lost in an Upper middle class white neighborhood or low income white neighborhood
rednecks and police are p much on the same level as far as I'm concerned

Do you have a BBC?
what would it take to make an engine run backwards? CCW instead of CW. I am thinking of gasoline powered internal combustion piston engines.
seems to me, all you need is a camshaft ground the "other" way, and a starter to get it spinning that direction. better double check the oil pump too, maybe switch input and output fittings.
is there anything else about an engine that is direction specific?
>>17755891
shift into reverse
simple
>>17755909
>>17755891
Nothing stopping you, but your entire tranny also has to be backwards which means your differential does too
But most African countries with safaris are RHD, and ban the import of LHD vehicles (like Kenya, South Africa, etc.).
So if the Landaulet is designed for African safaris, it'll be useless since it can be imported into countries *with* safaris.
I'm genuinely asking. Am I missing something here?
>>17755852
>can't be
>>17755852
This thing is nutso and great but I just can't appreciate the look of the canvas on it. Appears like a saturday afternoon hackjob. Doesn't look balanced, somehow
Most RHD countries can't afford it...
Now that the dust has settled...

Hi, I have a van with a manual choke but I don't know how to use it when starting the vehicle
I've watched videos but they all just vague explained what to do without explaining how it works
Do I just pull the choke out when I start the car and rev it ?
I know nothing about cars. Any help is appreciated
Year make and model, also welcome to the club.
>>17755510
Dont bother with the choke. Just give it half throttle for a few minutes to it's nice and toasty
>>17755510
Pull the choke to close it.
Press the gas pedal to the floor once, and release it.
Crank the car over until it starts.
Give it some time to warm up
Slowly open the choke up making sure to not kill the engine
Once the choke is fully open you can proceed with a light foot until the engine is fully warm.
Thoughts?
Saw one at the dyno this weekend? How much are they supposed to make stock?

Busrider here.
Looking to buy my first car. What do you think of this? I live in MN, and i need to haul some occasional stuff around(not enough to warrant the mpg of a pickup). I also want to look cool. Also it has to be manual, which goes hand in hand with looking cool.
This cherokee has 180k miles on it and hasn't been in an accident from what I can tell. My other options are a bunch of old ford/chevy pickups that'll get like 12 mpg and offer me a huge truck bed to put next to nothing in. Or I could choose from a slew of honda compact death boxes.
Spoonfeed plz.
buy a miata you faggot
