400k km's over 4 years is nothing... The fact that it needed all that shit replaced says a lot. A modern new cheap ICE shitbox would make it to that easily with just oil changes. I bet that guy also drives like a grandma most the time and doesn't supercharge it. Floor it at every light and supercharge it and it'll go to shit pretty quickly.

Drove around one of the few twisty roads here in town going 20 over.

Depends on the quality of the inside and the condition outside, that's very low mileage for one of these 4runners of this year, in my neck of the woods a 4runner around this year goes from 3k with double the miles and usually paint and sometimes minor body damage.
Price should also depend on the package, the I4 (2.7L) is worth a lot less than the than the V6. Personally the v6 is all that interests me and if everything checked out I'd be willing to pay 4k pretty easily, where as the l4 I'd price in and around 3k

"Diesel" can be petroleum based as our current paradigm allows...but it doesn't have to be as oxidated vegetable oils can also be run in a Diesel engine. Understand that the Engine is correctly known as a Diesel ans calling all compression ignition viable heating oils "diesel" spits in the faces of the chemical and mechanical engineers who worked tirelessly to give us the most advanced heating oil technology possible.
