I don't feel that this is covered in the sticky.
when choosing a shitbox is it better to go with something that is plentiful in the wreckers or a little more scarce?
if there are lots of X car in the wreckers you have lots of used parts unless Y part killed them all including yours.
if it's rare in the scrap yard it could mean that it lasts long and will treat you well, or that the car is rare and parts will cost more.

Does anyone here know their shit in regards to tires? I'm really struggling to figure out what tires I should buy. On the one hand, I want as little road noise as possible. But I do tend to accerlate up to speed pretty hard in city driving, but on the highway I usually hit 70-75 tops. What specs should I look at if I want a balance of both, or should I pick one or the other?

My 95' 4runner is bumping down the road, feels like I have a rock in the rear tire (I don't). You can only feel it going slowly, it increases frequency with speed but the bounce becomes unnoticeable about 20mph. and about 40ish it seems to have a bit of a hum. On a jack, the rear wheels both seem to scooch a little in and out.
Help?

On an off note....... anyone know if you can retrofit the factory rear locking diff from a 3rd gen into a 2nd gen?

2010 Honda Civic. Trying to install new CV axle joint and I'm at the part of pushing it into the transmission but it won't go in all the way in pic related. I'm scared to like push it in by holdin the middle part of the axle, like the shaft of it as I don't want to ruin the rubber boot. Any suggestions how to push it in all the way? Can't seem to get it.

Kind of a very specific question most people can't anewer but I'm moving to New York City and I'm thinking of getting a cheap used moped so I can avoid the crazies on the train. Apparently if it's underived 50cc I don't need an M license too? Averge speed in the city is 11mph so that's fine with me.
I know parking barely exists in the city and when it does you usually gotta pay quite alot. What's the legality of tying a moped to a bike rack or parking sideways in between cars? I was thinking of an E-scooter or bike but apparently theyre pretty much illegal for whatever the fuck reason.

Some dipshits in their lowered truck hit a pothole today and dumped a truck-bed full of plastic bags all over the interstate and one of them got sucked under my car on the way to work. When i parked i did a quick sweep around the car and didnt see any bags but i think i could smell burnt plastic on the righthand side. Couldnt check under the car as i was already late for work.
