What cars are the most resilient to hard driving and/or poor maintenance? The least?
judging by every JDM fangay video, old cheap hondas are pretty resilient to banging into the rev limiter and shifting like a retard
the least? lambos, because it will catch on fire
>>17783357
pretty much this
Honda used to make the most masochistic machines.
They secretly made their shit out of Nokium or some shit
>>17783352
The most? A pickup truck or van. Fleet and company trucks and vans get the absolute fuck driven out of them with little maintenance. Add in 9000 hours of idling on top of that.
The least? A luxury German car. All those million mile Taxi's in Europe only pull that off with meticulous maintenance.
>>17783357
Those old Honda's are reliable but they need a quart of oil a day to stay reliable sooo.
Britfag reporting in. I'm going to get my next car soon and was looking at a 200SX - insurance isn't too bad, they go for around £5000 for a relatively clean one, come with an SR as standard and I want a mememobile to hoon around in.
I would change the bumpers to the JDM-spec Silvia bumpers as the UK ones are fuck ugly.
Persuade me not to buy one.

In Feb I bought a brand new WRX STI.
Since then (and about 8200km) I could swear it's exhaust is getting louder.
Is this possible? Other people are saying the same thing, but how can this be... what exactly is changing?
>>17783241
It could be your confirmation bias or the car is more broken in.
Or it could be you're driving more aggressively in the summer
muffler packing blew out maybe although i doubt it. maybe a loose exhaust flange
>>17783241
You'll have to change your muffler bearings, unfortunately
Going to buy either a 2017 Focus ST or 2017 GTI (manual). The pictures accurately represent colors/wheels.
ST pros:
- More HP and torque
- Looks nicer (imo)
- About $7k cheaper
- Less expensive to repair
ST cons:
- Not german engineering
- Lower resale value
- Probably less reliable
GTI pros:
- German engineering
- More sophisticated (imo)
- Better quality interior
- Probably more reliable
GTI cons:
- More expensive
- 2018 model is the facelift and the LED tails + updated interior will make the 2017 look outdated quickly
Did I miss anything?
the ferd will fall apart faster, the vw will have electrical problems as it ages
>>17783213
>German engineering
damn son, how do you fall for marketing this hard?
what the germans call engineering, the japanese call bloated and the americans call needlessly expensive.
the gti also has crank walk motor failures, brand new cars with the motors failing
What year/model prius is the best and why?
Yeah I know the batteries are bad for the environment and after about 100k miles it'll be replaced.
>I like it anyway and don't give a fuck
>If there is a better hybrid for my $$$ let me know i'll research it.
The newer the better.
As a Toyota Tech, people still maintain mostly 2nd and 3rd Gen prius hybrids. First Gen is ugly and cramped.
2nd is dated and still relies on the engine to run for A/C but was the most aerodynamic.
I've seen 3rd Gen Prius hit 200k with their original HV battery. The Aux Battery seems to crap out ever 2 years or so.
I dislike the current Prius and hate the look of the Prime.
If I had to choose, the current Prius C or a 3rd Gen Non-plugin Normal prius would be it.

get a volt instead. zero gas usage if you drive under 35 miles a day, or 70 if you can charge at work.
Am I the only one to see more of these over the 911?
The SUV's saved the company from bankruptcy

There are a ton of these where I live, its the token trophy wife vehicle.
hey fags, its me, capri fag here.
in the last thread I had about it someone mentioned that depending on the model it would be worth more than the rest and that anon mentioned something about the badges. I had access to it today and grabbed these two badges to see if that anon is around and can confirm if they're normal badges or something a little more special.
In two days I'm actually going out to see what the damage is so I'll post again then since some anons actually seemed interested in its condition.
pic related is on the side of the car

>stop posting threads about your shitty capri that was literally used for racing (because it was) its trash xd OP is fag

>DO NOT try to start your car.
>Check your oil, if there is water on the dipstick, that means if you had started your car, the water and the oil would have mixed together and run through the engine.
>Change your oil.
>Check your air filter for water, if it's dry, you're fine.
>If it's wet, change your air filter, and remove your spark plugs so there's no pressure/vacuum in the engine.
>Shouldn't be a problem, but don't change your spark plugs if the engine is hot. The cylinder head is likely made of aluminum which is malleable when hot, and you could ruin the threading.
>Now try to start your car, the engine will shoot out any of the water that was in the engine.

Anyone ever noticed the difference between European car detailers and American detailers?
European detailers always use a shitload of high priced cleaners and equipment and take a good while to detail a whole car while American detailers are more practical and efficient and maybe use 3 to 4 economical cleaners and equipment. Most professional American detailers have pretty handy technique that make the work much faster and easier while Europeans do everything you would see an a chemical guys video.
Europoors are awful at making cars, but they are also awful at cleaning them

>Anyone ever noticed the difference between European car detailers and American detailers?
Just you pal
What is there even to detail on an American car if they all come with orange peel from the factory and rust as soon as they touch water?
Best car with a turbo or supercharged (Do they do that anymore?) for under $25k financed.

What does /o/ think of wood trim?

How do you protect your car from floods?
I dont live in an area legendary for its shitty weather disasters.
by not living in a flood plain
Other than the dumbass remarks that have truth to them
And actual realistic answer would be to park your car on the highest point you can find ie: biggest hill or something and pray it's ok later
Better than just parking in the street.
