Hey /o/,

Wondering if anyone here can help me figure out this problem:

Back in December my fuel pump went, so I got it replaced. Earlier this summer it would take me multiple cranks to start my car, took it in, they warrantied out again. After that I took it in again. So in the past 9 months I've had my fuel pump changed three times.

>When I go to start my car any time of day and even when warmed up, I have to crank it two to three times

I figured it's the check valve but the check valve comes in that fuel pump assembly and it's been replaced three times.

sounds like maybe a fuel pressure regulator issue or a clogged fuel filter. see if either are external from the pump, i think the filter is
>>
>>17786648
Will do; my mechanic clearly doesn't know what the issue is... could it be the spark plugs?
>>
>>17786597
Jeep 4.0's are notorious for having CKP's and neutral safety switch going bad, which would cause your problem.

I also find it hard to believe that 4 fuel pumps have gone bad.

Get a fuel pressure test kit from Oriely's and make sure it's in spec with your manual

Would a rx8 with a wiring issue be a bad idea as a project? The guy was starting to part it out but has only sold the front bumper and a few interior pieces so far. He says it'll blow a fuse as soon as you turn the key on but sometimes it starts but will blow it again as soon as you turn or hit a bump. Car has 100k kilometers on it, just looking for a project to work on, what would be a reasonable price (leaf) for it, or should I even bother?

You can literally get shells for $1000-1500 now.
If it's around there and clean sure.

They're getting popular for LS swaps.
I wouldn't buy one if I intended to leave it rotary
>>
>>17786318
A wiring issue like that sounds pretty trivial and inexpensive for a qualified mechanic to address. I'm not a mechanic though, you should ask one in your community and get a ballpark price.
>>
>>17786318

never buy a used rotary unless its just been rebuilt because the previous owner is always an idiot.

annd desperate bump.
>>
Vibration when moving or vibration from the engine?
>>
>>17786297
Take it to a shop because if you don't have the ability properly describe the issue then you probably shouldn't bother trying to fix it.

I love this and I could buy one but why is Range Rover so unreliable? This is so tempting.

Is leasing for personal use a good idea? I heard it isn't a good idea.

The well made ones that aren't trying to copy anything are pretty cool.

That G35 "Spoopr car" kit looks like shit though,

I kinda want a Factory 5 Type 65 coupé with a B16 or a 4A-G.
>>
>>17786258
Type 65 look cool but it sucks that you need parts from mustang

They're worth it when you find one that's had its engine built but then the kit is shitty so it's selling for the same or less than an unmolested one in similar condition

Looks like a Momo or a Naridi.

Just go with a Grant, they're much cheaper and you can get an adaptor to switch the 5 bolt for a 6 bolt.

If you throw enough money at them every wheel manufacturer with a cnc milling machine will make them for you. If you can give them a cad file they maybe won't even charge that much. Manufacturers like Vossen are pretty used to doing unique wheels in terms of dimensions etc.

Hi /o/,
I'm a bit on the fence about what engine to put into my Honda Civic ED.

My intentions with the car is to daily drive it and possibly track it once a year.

My builder has given me two options with very different prices, they both come with a S80 LSD gearbox.
(Labor is mates rates of $1k on both options)
The options are;

~ $3800 for a Full Unopened B18CR JDM with low K's.

Or

~ $4700 for a B18c2 build block (11:5:1 piston, head gasket, arp studs, machine work, bore hone) with b18cr head, pretty much brand new engine.

Now my dilemma is that, is the price worth it with that compression ratio?
Or should I stick with the unopened Type R engine?

Money isn't the real issue,
it's just I want to also buy a Datsun as well as a project on the side.

Any actual input would be great.
Thanks in Advance /o/.

Going to go look at a baja bug today that my buddy wants to sell to me for 2k. Says the steering is sloppy and headlights don't work and of course has rust, anything else I should look for?

I remember him saying he was selling it to his cousin for 3k awhile back so I'm pretty sus on the low price.

I just sold my cherokee and I'm looking for something to fill the hole in my heart plus I want to go offroading bad. Also I'm in college so I can't justify dropping 5k on some boomer's wet dream atm.
>>
It's a Beetle with parts chopped off. Everything will be shitty and broken like any old Beetle. But there's very little to go wrong and you can always replace it. Only thing that costs any money to fix is the engine.

By the way, I don't know what kind of offroading you're used to but it's nothing like a Cherokee. You can't crawl in it.

Serious Question: why does it exist in the first place? It's not making the car any faster nor any safer. The only benefit I could see is it's beautiful in some people's eyes

>>
yes that is why, headlights are not very pretty to look at

they also had their own mechanical problems
>>
Federal regulations in the 70s meant headlights had to be at a certain height
US market MGBs have a higher ride height for this reason.
>>
They were an elegant feature for a more civilized age.
