I'm new to cars and would like some advice to improve the car I basically grew up with (Gen 1 2000 Toyota RAV4.) No crazy stuff, just general quality of life stuff.

I drive a similar year crv hand-me-down. All I plan on doing is getting newer speakers and a head unit that doesn't require a cassette to mp3 adapter. Don't bother modding the car, save up for a fun car.

Hey everybody. So I had to drill out the rotor screws while replacing the old one because they were frozen and an impact driver didn't work. So I got the rotor and the screw head off but the body is still locked inside the screws. Now I know these things aren't needed, a lot of the reason they're there is because of the manufacturing. Since I don't need these little fucks could I just leave the bodies in and shave the edges down so it's just flat and the rotor can fit right on?

Technically, yes you could just make them flush and forget about it.
I would at least try to get them out first. If all else fails you could also drill and re-tap it.
Drilling and re-tapping would be super easy because of the location

And even if you fuck up and it doesn't work it's not problematic

You could take this opportunity to replace the hub/wheel bearing and save yourself the hassle later on. Judging by the corrosion your car looks pretty old and worn and wheel bearings are something that do go bad

>shitty plastic door handles that break off and need to be replaced by aluminum ones
>shitty low quality interior with buttons and fans that break all the time and are stupid expensive to replace
>engine gets shit mileage and requires an oil change every two weeks
>engine known for shitting itself.
>20 years old
Why do these cars go for 20k again?

Drove one while living in Japan for a year. Definitely a cool car, but it does not have the driving pleasure of say, an s2000 in stock form.

Stock for stock there are better cars, but aftermarket modifications are what make the FD shine.

look like new edge cobra wheels, or knock-offs of them. Same bolt pattern so pretty easy swap.

Alright /o/, I've been searching for a car for a very long time now, 4 years.

My current vehicle is a mostly unreliable 2006 Jeep Liberty I bought when I got my first job back in 2013, at the time I didn't give a fuck about cars. It wouldn't be until 2014 that I really started learning about cars and eventually fell in love with them.

I wanted something that would teach me more about cars, and of course Miata, 86, or 350z were the answers. But now I have other things to be concerned about, like how am I going to carry my audio equipment to jobs/gigs in a fucking miata?

>inb4 "buy a trailer faggot"
no, u

I would go with a wagon, but then I forget that America isn't Europe and all the Accord wagons are piled up with the 240sx's near your closest local twisty road guardrail. A Buick roadmaster is too fucking massive (and a bit pricey), the Passat W8 looks very appealing but it along with any Audi wagon have ludicrous maintenance costs.

I really have no idea what to do, or where I should even go in my search. I really liked the Z31 and Z32, but after talking to a bunch of guys at meets, the Z31 is near impossible for parts, and the Z32 requires you remove the engine to do literally anything.

can /o/ help me out?

So I admittedly I skimmed this post but here's what I'm going to suggest as you haven't listed your budget, or how much room your equipment takes up.
Look at older lexus Ls 400.etc these are sedans while offering a healthy aftermarket and handling that has aged well. Your other option really is to buy a miata for 3k and a van for 5 and use the van for work and sell it if you get another job.

I bet you could manage it in a 350z, definitely in an 86.

The question is whether you can afford either of the two cars.

Both are entry level, generic, and kind of boring imo, but at least you will learn about cars from owning them.
>>
>>17868445
Sorry, I completely forgot

My budget was between 8k-15k

My equipment takes up around
1 bag = 25x40
2 stands 40x 15

Does anyone know where the drain holes are for an '06 Pontiac Vibe GT? A friend of mine is leaking so we googled it and it said "drain holes could be plugged" I can't find the drain holes in the roof or where they would drain to underneath. Googling is giving me wrong years, the holes must have changed, and different cars.

I was just wondering if anyone knew.

Is the 2017 Civic that bad? I was about to pull on a civic coupe and the interiors look pretty nice but...

I heard is no longer recommended and was about to get one today but after reading about it I left the dealer unsure if its what I really want as a DD. Sounds like a mechanical and electric hell on that car on the reviews I have read.
