Buying a car with little money. Looking around $2500 but $2800 max. $3000 max but would delay paying for taxes on it.

The 03 altima is $2400 but has that dent by the headlight and a ding on the door. The 05 is newer and doesnt have any obvious dents, but is $3000. Id get the 03 but Im worried the dent means its been in a serious accident and something is wrong with the internals.
Check the floorpans. They disintegrate no matter where they are.
Those both look horrible.

You mean supposed hp in the movie, or IRL?

Only if you cuck yourself into dealer servicing
If you do shit yourself Euro cars should last longer as they generally have better build quality
Also, they don't rust out in like 6 months

Ok guys.
I picked up and 96 E36 M3 recently. I have always wanted to have a project car to undertake that will have extensive modifications and I am financially able to do so. Probably will turn it into a track car/Daily/Boyracer type build but nothing to extreme. Currently trying to get my hands on an S54 or S50B32 (euro spec e36 M3 motor) to throw in and toss out the S52 because 240hp. So I came to ask:
>What are some good rim brands that I should look at?
>What should I do cosmetically to the car? I want to keep it clean. Farthest I will go is a DTM/CSL wing. Inb4 stancefags.
BMW forums are meh, mostly circle jerks of vapenationfags stancing the car, but they are helpful with the mechanics.
Also sorry for the ultra tiny pic but what manufacture makes these rims. I've seen them alot on track builds

Soo... on my way home I noticed steam coming from the hood of my car, and while I pulled over a whole bunch of smoke blew out. I immediately turned my car off and popped the hood, and I noticed I had no coolant, and the rest of what I did have seemed to be dripping out of the floor from right under the radiator itself. after a few minutes of cooling down I took off the radiator cap and it seemed as if the smoke was coming from there. the reservoir was completely dry, but the overflow tank was full, and it seemed kind of dirty. any ideas what it might've been???
>>16866864
Its because you bought a 3k civic
>>16866864
Normally don't care for this board, but I'm drunk.
You obviously have a serious coolant leak. How you didn't notice this in your driveway - I can not say. The reservoir (which is the "overflow tank" will be full because the system is not pressurized (because of the leak). The cap will always let out steam because the engine runs at the temperature water boils. Pressurization prevents boiling until it reaches 15 lbs, Then the cap opens and lets overflow reach the expansion tank.
tldr:
You have a cooling system leak. Use this (unfortunate) opportunity to go through your cooling system. Depending on mileage, it's time for a water pump / timing belt, hose replacement, thermostat / de-scale water outlet, sounds like the rad is cracked, and I'd probably flush or replace the heater core. Have fun.
>>16866937
first of all thanks for the help, and also, I did notice it, the leak was never really bad though. I went out of town last night, and that's when it got bad. it holds the coolant in the reservoir just fine... until I've driven for a few minutes. It starts leaking while i'm idling or parked, and that's also when the smoke comes out. I did a little research and I'm thinking it's the water pump
tldr
I did notice it but i was too cheap to fix it and now I have to or else i'll fubar my car and I now believe it's the water pump after doing a bit of research

What's the catch with these no credit check, open loan-ok, $500 down dealerships? This one in particular seems too good to be true. Am I missing something? Can an experience buyer check it out and let me know of their opinion? This will be my first car.

What is the most dudebro car of all time?
mustang
Lifted trucks.
WRX
Bought my first manual yesterday!
2007 Honda Civic EX 5-sp Manual for $4900 CAD. Has 153k km. This guy has done absolutely everything. Every fluid changed, new clutch, rotors, pads, calipers, tires, alignment.
Comparing it to other cars in my area, I got an absolute steal. I've found Rebuilt base model 07 Civics with similar KM for the same money. I found the exact same as my car (same 153k km on a 4-dr Civic EX), but with 2 accidents over $2000 (and brown), for $6900. My car has no accidents at all, not a single claim. I'm planning on keeping it for a year and once I become decent at driving a manual, I'm going to get a 2015+ Mustang GT. Wasn't sure if I should have bought the Mustang first, and learn stick on that. Or buy something cheaper. I got such a good deal I decided to go down the second route.
I've only been driving it for maybe 2-3 hours total, and have already gotten hill starts down. I just have to work on becoming smoother.
>>16866529
Couldn't you have gone with a newer accord? They're nice and shiny.
>>16866529

>>16866538
I didn't want to get something that would depreciate quickly, was looking for something that was near the end of its depreciation. I plan on selling it in a year after I learn to drive stick. I got such a great deal on it, I think in a years time I should be able to get most of my money back.

What option do you go for if given versatility vs sport?
I doubt you have enough money for a car if you're making just above minimum wage.
What do you earn in a fortnight? How much of that do you want to put towards car-related payments (fuel, insurance, loan, maintenance)?
Between the two in the OP the 4runner will always be cheaper to keep and more useful innawoods. Not much of a contest there.
I will avoid the memes but buy a 15 years old car at 1K.
