>High end automotive boutique that only makes SUVs
Could it work? I'm talking like cheapest model being $175K kind of money
There are no SUVs at that price point right now, the most expensive is an AMG G Wagon. If you're talking about crossovers like the Urus, Bentayga, Levante, etc. those are all built on car chassis, so there's 0 reason to only make crossovers when you can, for not much more trouble, also build a car, or several other cars on the same platform.
>>16877984
isnt the bentayga a touareg, meaning its built with an integrated frame?

Top of the line G Wagon is over 200K STARTING my man
What are the best and worst vanity plates you've seen?
When gas started climbing for a while in the early/mid 00's, I saw a Prius with the plate "F OPEC"
There's a piece of shit who lives near me, with a RAM1500 that has the plate "GITRDUN".
He's a 5'4" manlet, it's great fun watching him literally climb into his crusty Chrysler car.
While I was washing my car, a 350z with the plate "JEALOUZ" drove by.
It's a clever name but who the hell is jealous of a 350z?
I am in the market for a S2000. But currently, a clean tittle AP2 goes for 20k. I feel like there's tons of option on the used market for that money.
what would /o/ buy for 20k?
>>16877679
ae86, but would use some of the money on repairs and engine swaps
For $20k? You can pick up a lightly used V8 late-year muscle car. Or for maximum desu, you can get a near new Miata or BRZ.
20 corollas
Just test drove this baby. Hot damn this thing is plush and luxurious! Silkier than a baby's bum.
$1 has been deposited into your ford shitbox fund.
...and it also looks like a mix of at least 10 European cars, plus they succesfully made a set of "ice cubes" headlights worse than Acura!

Now I understand why 99% of american cars are automatic.
because you're a shitty driver?
Your dad sounds like a better person than you.
>>16877624
Because i'm apparently retarded and 50% of the time i'm driving a manual I do fine and the other half I just go 'hurr durr' and potato it all up.

3k civic
My father had me pick up this little '82 Civic for him to take back and forth to work, and now that my shitbox is on the way out, I'm thinking of taking it off him and fixing it up.
How can I tell if it would be worth it? As far as I can tell, everything runs fine, but I'd need to take care of minor rust on the bottom and give her a new paint job and trim. Is there anything else I should look into before deciding?
>>16877396
I should add, what I mean is, were the '80s Civics prone to anything breaking in particular? Anything I should specifically check? I know he's taken care of it, but who knows how hard the old owner rode it. The paint is rollered-on Tremclad, for crying out loud.
>>16877472

Rust, rust and more rust.
Consider you are using an over 30 year old car as a DD that will be hard to hunt for parts in auto yards. Not even a domestic but an important, these things rusted away by the time the 90s came around. Fix what rust their is, and only drive it in the summer.
>>16877396
If you get in a wreck, you will be severely maimed or die
Saving money on gas doesnt mean much when you are in a casket
I do balance of performance for a relatively large series and am incredibly bored.
Anyone interested in an AMA?
what do you do about sandbagging. Do you think BOP is a good idea or should racing find another way to make it competitive.

Check power steering fluid level. I've never seen one of those that didn't leak it. If it's good the pump might be going out.
Why didn't you just brake?
Anyone here have a slightly older MX5? I'm really tempted to buy this for £2500... 69k miles, looks to be in good condition.

Really, it's a no brainer. You gotta go with the NA.
Saw one of these today on the commute to work. It kind of made that sound of metal creaking as it drove by me in the intersection. The driver of course was some 40 year old white faggot in a suit who probably thought he was pretty bad ass in his $100,000 corolla.
I don't legitimately believe that anyone who knows anything about driving cars as a hobby (and thus someone who would reasonably spend $100,000 on a car) could buy one of these for the price they ask. Sure for $30,000 its a great car no doubt.
But this thing survives on reddit and viral marketing campaigns where it does its insane button. Now they advertise 'bio weapon defense mode'. Who the fuck thinks they are going to get attacked by a bio weapon? They did the Model, S, 3, X, because Musk wanted to spell SEX with the models, XDXD upvoat please.
Meanwhile, the batteries fail at high rates, it can't go around Nurnbergring faster than a prius because it goes into powersaving mode soon after using its meme acceleration. Funny how the videos stop about 4 seconds after launch and nobody mentions the car blows its load after 1 minute of real driving.
So you're complaining that rich people waste money that you won't ever have on stuff that you don't like.
Excellent use of your time. Great thread.
