Why are these even around anymore?

I haven't seen one of those since like 2001. Maybe you should stop being poor.

At least these don't seize up and die when they get to be 10 plus years old.
I also miss sliding knob climate control, too. Simple.
Been using these for a couple months rebuilt 2 rear ends, an 440 and various other tasks. Good grip, dont rip easily and fit nicely. Would recommend

Everyone I know uses the nitrile gloves from Costco.
You might use the ones from harbor freight, but the material might be contaminated with lead. So using those gloves could be a constant lead bath for your moist hands with open pores. A lead test kit is almost necessary with a lot of low-cost chinese things whose raw material provenance is not tested. It's why a lot of canned chinese foods got banned of usa shelves. Some weren't banned for the foot itself but for the container metal containing lead.
I use the dead skincells on the surface of my hands. Excellect grip and you can't even feel it when you wear it. Doesn't cost shit but it will wear down a bit after extended use.
When I was younger in my teens and early 20s I was pretty car obsessed. Cleaned my car all the time, read about cars often, was part of forums, attended meet-ups, attended auto shows. I even worked at a dealership for six years as a detailer, I was surrounded by autos.
My mother said to me one day "I was like you at that age, but you'll grow out of it at some point". I thought "Pfff, right mom, whatever". But she was right. I got older, met a girl, married, moved out, changed jobs, and now cars are not my highest priority (I still own 3 shitboxes tho). Don't read about them much these days, haven't went to an autoshow in years, and I find it increasingly harder to gather the time to detail them as I used to. No time for meet-ups or forums anymore. Just too busy with other things now.
IT'LL HAPPEN TO YOU.

If you use anything that isn't OEM for your car you should commit suicide.

Kek, found the 'man' who can't turn. A wrench
I was at the race track and there was a fag with a e36.
I asked him what mods he had planned and he said "Just keep it stock and spend my money on track tires".
I said but these are are slow and only do 14 seconds down the quarter mile.
The faggot then said that he is happy enough with it only doing 14"s...
I said even a lot of civics are faster than that.
He is like "I don't care good for them"...
I then said that gtr's and corvettes get faster lap times around the nurburgring and he was like "Are you retarded, fuck off and stop talking to me".
lol at this poof who wants to keep his bmw stock and thinks doing 14 second passes is fast enough.
I love your satirical display of /o/s benchracing autism, but as en ex E36 owner i saw the community go from people who baby their cars and know the M5x engines inside and out to a bunch of edgy civic-tier BMW fanboys who think they are hot shit and just bought the latest and greatest 7-series because of muh badge.
They are poverty spec hoon mobiles now that are all being trashed to death.
It's a shame because it really is a great chassis.

I blame stance blogs featuring slammed e36s for that.
If you want a faster car why not just buy a faster car?

>new models (Taurus interceptor) perform better but just aren't the same
Me and my dad recently picked up one of these. My dad's coworker has an S2000 and after we test drove it we decided to buy one as well because it is fun. However, apparently you can not buy a new S2000 anymore so we bought MX-5 which people tell it is very similar. It is indeed a great deal of fun but after driving it a while and starting to push it more we noticed that there is no "push" at the higher revs. S2000 had a clear distinction in the sound also somewhere higher in the revs.
Is that normal or should we take it to the dealer? I remember dealer clearly stating that it has 2 liter engine without turbo like in S2000. Checking under the hood it says SkyActive so everything seems OK?

>he bought a miata
It is regrettably normal I can't tell you how many times in different industries I have people "under budget" and then they absolutely have to spend huge amounts of cash on something that has to be "new".
The reason why this is a meme is because people are irresponsible and autistic and therefore completely unable to think that other people will be responsible.
I'm currently working with a company that thinks they have to spend $3K per laptop each on shitty consumer shit that won't last 2 years but because they've always bought shitty consumer shit that doesn't last 2 years they think this is how it has to be. I've shown them refurb business laptops that will last 10 years and the answer is always no.
Anyway everything is not OK, go buy the piece of shit and make sure it breaks then don't do anything.

Once fender rust appears, is there anything you can do besides replacing the entire panel?
You can sand it off if it's just surface rust. Once it's bubbled, you'd need to fill it or replace the panel.

Slop Vaseline over it. It will slow it down.
are aftermarket steering wheels worth it, /o/?
>>16891184
No, but an aftermarket cock might be necessary for someone with a truncated gentleman's sausage such as yours.
I say no if your car is new enough to have an airbag. If your car is older and you want an aftermarket wheels then go for it.
I don't think it's worth sacrificing crucial safety for [a e s t h e t i c]
