Going on a roadtrip to US on june 1-17, tickets already booked and i've come here to ask for serious protips. 2 Finnish guys in mid 20s.
Landing in LAx and picking up an rental muscle, probably mustang or camaro convertible. Also planning on picking up an corvette for last 2-4 days.
As of yet we have none concrete plans, most probably wont be driving all the way across US, perhaps an round trip to Texas from the south and back to LA from the north
Suggestions regarding the route and interesting places to visit along the way are welcome
ps. we do have 2 agendas, but really depends on the timing if we managed to squeeze them in the schedule.
1. Checking out an Nasa / SpaceX launch, for that we will fly to Florida and back.
2. Going to an Trump event, if he happens to have one in June.

Taking the Pacific Coast highway from LA to S.F. would be fun, I'm not sure what to tell you if you're heading east from LA.
America is fucking huge so prepare for driving quickly in a straight line for hours.
>>16898898
Will do the Coast Highway in corvette, and other great driving roads around California
I'm prepared for the boring driving, i've done ~2k km tround trips in Finland, Germany and Great-Britain last year in 4-5 days, 16 days for ~4k km should be okay.
What's the best cheap-ish OBDII Bluetooth adapter that won't fry my ECU?
Pic related, it's the cheapest one straight from the Torque wiki page.
>>16898696
Then get it nigga.
I have one that looks like that and it works. There's also a thread for stupid questions that don't deserve a thread, as in, literally yours.
Saged.
>>16898696
why do you millenials need everything to be wireless?
>>16898964
Yeah why doesn't he just go through the effort of wiring up every gauge he can possibly think of and also run wires to the OBD2 port. God forbid he just wants to read ECU values without some retard making bizarre criticism of him.
THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
TIRE SHINE. If you choose to use it, use it right.
DO NOT liberally spray it all over the wheel. It has silicone in it, and it floats up in a fine mist and rains back down on the car. DO NOT do this when you have your car doors wide open, windows down, or top dropped on your Miata, you will find a ton of small spots all over your interior. This is a GOOD REASON why you dress tires first BEFORE cleaning your windows. DO NOT dress tires and drive off right away, you will spray excess dressing all over the sides of your car.
You wonder why I show up at the coin wash at 7am? To avoid people like you that drown your tires in dressing and I'm parked a few spots over drying my car, seeing little spots form all over it in the water sheen still left on my car.
HOW TO apply tire shine correctly: Spray it at close range on an applicator pad! Wipe it on! Do all four. If your tires are older, they will suck it in, apply another coat of dressing if necessary. Wipe any excess off your wheels. LEAVE the car to sit at least 20-30 minutes if you can, so the dressing can have time to adhere and dry. Best to apply tire shine at the end of the day so it can sit overnight and really dry. You may get a little blow-back on the sides of the car the next day, but its minimal.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

It's like you've never lubed up your dick and proceeded to windmill like a mad man before.

Why are car manufacturers trying to sell cars to young people when most of them can barely afford a 3k civic?
Why are millennials so utterly fucking useless?
>>16898205
Why do you project yourself onto a whole generation?
>>16898205
because boomers aren't dying/retiring so we are stuck with shit tier jobs after getting our degrees
how do i stop speeding. im 19 and i took a blind 50mph turn into a residencial street hoping that there wasn't any oncoming traffic that would hit me.
you'll learn your lesson eventually, if you live

>Rudnick gave Dan who was his GOOD friend (of Dan's Rod and Customs) a car to work on
>told him it'll take two days.
>instead it took three months
>Rudnick needed the car back to sell it
>Rudnick mans up and goes to his shop to try and get it
>Dan tells Rudnick to give him $200 and he could have it back even though that wasn't part of the intial deal.
>Rudnick and Dan get in a little pushing/choking fight
>Dan pulls gun and cocks it then aims it at Rudnick
>Rudnick leaves and calls the cops
>Rudnick goes home and visibly shaken makes a video
Mind you this kid Dan is 27 years old and Rudnick is a harmless 19 year old

Fags who are familiar with Electric cars or want to get informed, get in here.
So of course, everyone has a hardon for the Tesla Supercharger cable.
I'm looking into buying an electric car and want to outfit my garage with something that puts out the most amps and is also future proof.
>inb4 you can get an adapter.
1. Which charger do you personally like the most.
>Me, I like the Tesla Supercharger cable seen at the bottom, since it's the most sleek and takes up the least space.
2. Which do you think will withstand the test of time and is future proof? Also, which do you think can carry the most amount of current if it were to be put to a stress test (even though we know the Supercharger carries the most amps currently)?
>I think ChadeMo is the most likely to be able to carry the most amount of current, just look how fat the connector is and the cable itself. I think eventually ChadeMo will outperform Supercharger.
3. Why didn't they put the ChadeMo connector on the Prius Prime? They left the fucking port next to it empty and made the charging door twice as wide just to remind us that the Japanese have ChadeMo. What a fucking waste. And we even h ave ChadeMo here in the US that comes with all Nissan LEAFs, so why the fuck did Toyota leave it out?
4. What 240v charger would you install in your garage? Supercharger or SAE?
Tesla is taking over.
It will be a mix of all 3 plug types. All 3 you see in your pic.
If you were to ask me which one will take over all 3 to become a universal one, it would have to be the one that's the most durable and easiest and cheapest to manufacture.
Imagine 1 million people all wanting to charge their cars. Which one would you go with?
>>16897406
>get informed
>supercharger
>future proof
dems some buzzwords if I ever seen em
>>16897406
>I'm looking into buying an electric car and want to outfit my garage with something that puts out the most amps and is also future proof.
It's just a fucking plug, if you ever want to change the plug just cut off the end, splice and solder the new one on, and heatshrink it.
Want more amperage? Larger gauge wire, and probably some replacement to the internals of the charger itself. That and the fact that the battery will probably explode at worst or no longer hold a charge at best.
As long as you keep the voltage the same it doesn't really matter.
full synthetic costs more than 200% and it's super hard to come by
am i better off just doing synthetic blend changes every 5000 km?

what's with how bright headlights are now? i'm driving more at night right now and feel like every cheap average car is blinding me as they drive by. am i just sensitive to light? or has headlight brightness gone up lately?
>>16897303
well with OEM LED and replacement bulbs becoming a new meme i would say the headlights have gotten brighter, but a lot of it is people who dont adjust their lights properly after replacing the housings because
>muh yellow lens
Could be that the roads have been wet a lot lately, making the light reflect?
