Why is it bad to idle your engine?
It's not good to run an engine at the same revs for long periods because it causes irregular boring in the cylinder.
>>16918387
>the Twingo with the dragon tattoo
dude girls and twingo lmao
>How does this complex equation work /o/?
Most agressive guy with the biggest most expensive car first
First come, first serve. I don't know why this is lost on so many licensed drivers.
>>16918325
Presumably they all stopped at the same time.
In that scenario, whoever goes first, goes first.
/o/pinions on the new Ford GT
active suspension & wing?
New Ford GT - 3173 lb - 647 hp
- 4.9 lb/hp - about $425,000
sauce: Road'N'Track
I don't know if that means opinions on just the suspension and wing or the GT, suspension, and wing...so I'm going to go with the latter.
The engine is a monster, it literally came right out of a Daytona prototype which is why it was so good for racing right out of the box.
I'm not sold on the interior just yet. It's awesome but it seems to be a little too retrofuturistic for my taste
Active suspension/wing is even more badass. Comfy cruiser one second, aggressive track whore the next, just need to hit a button.
Expenses be damned, just the cost for an oil change for a car like this could buy you a whole other car.
All I can see when I look at OPs pic...
>>16917882
Floor it right after you start it.
>>16917920
No not really, is it RWD or FWD?
...to tell a lie.
Pic related.
whats a decently reliable and fun car for around 2000 usd
>6'2" so no 'yata
>220 lbs so no 'yata
>autofag but willing to learn manual
I was looking at older civics (ie 1999 ish) on craigslist and they look nice, maybe a subaru or someshit.
>>16917100
Civics are not fun unless you go Si. Sure you can throw a bunch of mods on it, but then you may as well have just saved for an Si.
>source
>owned a 2001 LX for five years
I would highly recommend a Mazda 3, though I'm not sure if you can find a decent example for $2k.
>>16917100
>civics
Go buy a manual E36
If you can wrench and aren't retarded, they are pretty easy to own. Not much else you will find that is "fun" for that cheap. Maybe Foxbody or old Camaro too but e36 will probably be more fun stock.
Hello /o/,
I might be able to purchase this beauty soon:
>1988
>211 000 km (130 000 in burger units)
>1.8, 112 BHP
>2500 USD
Will I regret that? General youngtimer Audi thread I guess.
>>16917097
Interior pic
>>16917097
And yes, I am talking about this exact car on images
Watch out for malfunctioning electronics, check the wiring loom running to the trunk lid especially. Rust isn't really an issue because they're double galvanized.
Ideally you'd want to get the 2.3 inline 5 though, that thing is indestructible and can be built up for stupid power. The 1.8 is very slow.
I prefer fwd because rwd feels unstable
there I said it
>>16916801
>I prefer fwd because rwd feels unstable
Get good you filthy Sunday driver
Enjoy your understeer faggot.
>this is a meme
>no this is a meme
>no this is a meme
>no this is a meme
>no this is a meme
>no this is a meme
etc.
Now we have all had our fill, we don't need these threads anymore.
Well /o/, I just almost died using these fucking pieces of shit. I drive up onto them and then start jacking up the back so I can put in jack stands and the entire car rolls right off into me. The only thing that saved my life was the fact that it's a twink 2000lb car that I can man handle pretty well.
(you)
>>16916773
Well yeah no shit when you lift the the only axle with a parking brake off the ground of course the car will roll
What the fuck did you think would happen
Should have gone faster and jumped onto the Jack stands. That's what ramps are for
bought my first car last month and didnt had really time to drive it
what did you do on the first night off with a new car
i was think just cursing around (dont have any friends)
maybe somebody in here got good ideas to share
car pic related (yes my first car at 26)
First car purchase was a shitbox that was way overpriced, which I only realized after I took it to a mechanic after I bought it.
Cursing around sounds about right.
>>16916644
>first night off with a new car
>dont have any friends
>first car at 26
I'd be cruising around looking for a job.
>>16916659
but i got a job anon
It's puzzling that 20-somethings with virtually no savings would buy a "sports" car on multi-year loans,
while billionaires like Ingvar Kamprad drive 24 year old Volvos,
Really makes me think...
>>16916629
really makes me think.
>>16916629
Billionaires can afford to drive a car old enough to post on 4chan.
>>16916629
There's a reason those people are billionaires. They understand that cars are a money pit, so they buy something cheap and reliable. If they actually like cars, they will probably buy a classic for weekend cruising.
Who here is subscribed to XM? I am on a free trial that's about to expire. I like it and want to keep it but everytime they talk to me the prices are different. What do you guys pay and how long of terms?
>>16916320
Not sure about price, but I too would love to have satellite radio in my car.
FM is fucking GARBAGE
>rock stations that consist of played-out 90's buttrock and pretentious hipster horseshit
>hiphop/dance stations that spam Rihanna, Maroon 5, and Chainsmokers
>Sports talk radio where blowhard pseudo-experts sit around and speculate about pointless nonsense
What does a guy gotta do to get a dedicated heavy metal channel? Maybe some comedy stuff??
Call in and mention how you have subscription for wife's son and how you plan on canceling because you don't even use it. Guaranteed lower price
>>16916320
im on a trail as well right now and im honestly not that big of a fan. I prefer spotify since i can choose exactly what i want to listen to.
especially not for the price they quoted me which i think was 50$ for 6 months
My wife has a 2002 Dodge Neon and we need to get her a new car. Just looked on KBB and a trade in might only be worth $150. I've been told that we could get way more money if we sold it for parts, especially a Neon. Has anyone done this before? Where/how should I start?
it's one of the biggest chrysler pieces of garbage to exist, you should literally be giving somebody else money for pawning that shitheap off on them.
>>16916257
You don't think I know that? But I need to make a quick buck.
>>16916200
Does it run? It's worth more to a poor person (like you) if it runs.
Also did you ask your wife's boyfriend if you can sell the car? Better check with him.
/esg/ - European shitbox general.
Who here 41mpg?
>>16916106
The pug is no shitbox!
I've owned a 206 and a 207 and they're actually great cars
Transmission is a little dodgy at times, especially on the 206, and I guess it's not a Twingo, so no meme points, but it's a great little car
>>16917079
>and they're actually great cars
me and a lot of other drive this.
im from germany.
What was it and how did it drive / in what condition was the car?
Forgot to mention, talking about a car you owned
>>16915586
I have a 95 GMC 4x4 short box...about 590K kms...drove great until the trans shit the bed last September...
Not what I owned but there are regularly reported columns/blogs of VW diesel 1.6 and 1.9 with over 500k kms. I remember reading about Opel Omega with over 700k kms without a rebuild. Also it's not uncommon for E class taxi hitting one million kms.
Is there anyone else here planning on saving up to buy a supercar one day? I'm poor unfortunately but I really dream of owning one eventually, even if I have to save up for the next 10 years for one. By my calculations, I should have at least $100,000 saved up in a decade.
"Saving up" for a supercar is fucking retarded because even if you're able to fucking get those monies together, you won't be able to keep it running financially.
>>16915576
This. The cost of ownership for a true supercar can be as much as 10% of the cost of the car per year, depending on how much you drive. If you can't write a check for one without batting an eye, you can't afford it.
>>16915576
I'm not going to be daily driving it, all that matters is that I finally own one.
