Would you rather pay $1,140 dollars for OEM headlights or pay $245 for a rice looking pair like this

Why do you even need new headlights?
>>
Neither, get used oem or oem looking aftermarket
>>
those ebay headlights looking fucking terrible. Try and find a used pair of OEMs somewhere.

any datsun owners on here can give some bit of advise? I'm currently looking for an s2000 AP2, but I didn't realize up until this point that I could buy a nice 240-280z with that same 20k.

Would it be the smartest move to buy a near 50 year old car with the intent of driving it 60-100 miles a day as a daily driver? I already DD a miata with no power anything, so I'm already used to driving with the basics, and safety is the last thing I give a shit about. I was originally going with the s2000 since its a reliable car, but I don't mind moving over to something like a z if it means its probably the last time I would be able to buy one.

Anyone sometimes think back on missed opportunities?

I recently found a digital camera my sister gave me a decade a go. For shits and giggles, I read what was on the SD card today. Found a bunch of old photos, obviously. I also came across some photos I took back in high school

My final year of high school, I had the opportunity to buy my dream car, so I went and looked at it, took a few pics, including pic related. Guy wanted $2500 for a non-running car, so of course I said no.

I still think back and wonder what if. Anyone else have those thoughts?

I had a chance to buy a 1983 Porsche 911 complete shell, just missing the engine for 4k during the recession. I passed because i didn't have time fix it. it was worth x6 more in just a few years.

Shit picture of the engine.
1.8L Fiat Twin Cam I4 making an earth shattering 83 HP.

Hello /o/!
For the past, meh, 12 years it's been a hobby of mine to comb through used cars for sale and try to pick out which will appreciate, keep, or depreciate in value. I've guessed a couple correctly and sold them at more than I paid.

Which cars do you think will do this within a (mostly) attainable scenario? I'll start.

(Pic unrelated, creepychristian is creepy)

hello, while searching the internet for solutions i found this forum that talks about cars

i have read the forum rules and have not seen a thread for this already

i seem to have a problem with my 1997 chevy silverado 1500. i can not make the engine go above about 2,000 rpm. i can press the gass as much as possible yet it wont go!

has anyone else ever had this problem? what seemed to fix it? i'm on a fixed income so i can not take it to a mechanic

cheers

but it could also be a fueling issue so do a fuel pressure test as well first

Like a literbike engine, NOT like a fucking Honda 4 cylinder you find in a car, They sound fucking horrific. Yes, That includes expensive as fuck SPOON or whatever engines, They all have they ricey rasp that only a turbo can muffle. The only way to make a 4 cylinder sound good is with antilag and a rally tune and even then they're just meh.

What are the most common bottlenecks that make engines put out much less power than neccesary? I could start modding the shit out of an engine but that won't do much if there are restrictions in the intake/exhaust system.
26 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
intake (manifold, throttle body, air box (CAI))
exhaust(headers,catalytic converters, exhaust size)
injectors
fuel pump
mass air flow size
Stock tune is usually for 87 octane fuel

Older cars really benefit from that, newer cars are more hit or miss since most parts are well designed for the car, not to drop the power so it gets some efficiency pass
>>
By necessary, do you mean "potentially"?

>all emission equipment
>injection system
>turbo pressure
Remove the first, modify the other two. Note; doing this improperly will kill your engine
>>
>>16967013
Does the length of the intake negatively affect anything, like throttle response? If I were to ever modify the intake I would make a proper CAI which involves routing the intake as close to the outside as possible. I guess the benefit of having a cold air feed would outweigh the possible drawback of a mile long intake, right?

>>
>>16966842
>>16966637
Also I wouldn't call it well built. Sun visors droop, cup holder housing broke, gas tank meter reads incorrectly when low, front passenger seat squeaks in the cold, wind noise creeping through window sealants on cold highway drives, driver door armrest squeaks, rear passenger door squeaks occasionally

Engine and transmission are great though.

I've got one 500w amp and one 500w rms subwoofer with dual voice coils at 2ohms each.
how would i go about to safely wire the LED strips to my subwoofer without anything blowing or using any microphones?
i've read about adding transistors or a voltage regulator, but didnt quite understand what to do.
Any help?

If you don't understand electronics you should probably leave this to someone else before you either destroy your sub, or catch your car on fire.

I got no idea how to do it right, but check this out.

I've got an EVGA 1070 FTW in my rig, and I can set it to work the back light in relation to the sound, yeah? So what you can do is get one of those, and then go get a shitbox core2 dell from goodwill and stuff it in the trunk. Send your audio in through the Line In port, click 'listen to this input', then run it to your amp. After you do this, use a diode to tap off of the back light from the card and use that to trigger the light strips.

Boom, ezpz.
