I would like to remove the plastic engine cover since it's ugly as fuck and mine is like 10lbs.
>Will I damage anything by removing it in the long run? Hood, plastic parts around the engine, anything?
>Why is it there anyway? Just to "look nice" or is there a practical side to it?

I'm not joking. I weighed it. Shit's mad heavy with some kind of foam under the cover.
>>16985323
I've seen plenty of hoods damaged by extensive heat. The paint isn't unkillable. Better ask then having to repaint the whole thing.
What's /o/'s biggest speeding ticket? Where and in what. How did you plead?
I got a 90+ in a 45mph two lane divided highway driving an Impala LTZ.
Honestly should have just kept going his Tahoe could have never caught me but I panicked. They offered a pretty generous plea deal and I was guilty as fuck so I took it.
I got a warning for going 81 in a 60. That's about it, boss.
What car you drive? My Exploder has no problem getting to 110 mph. If you have some <2.4L Shitbox, I HIGHLY doubt you could outrun a 300hp 2.5 ton boat.
Oh I missed the Impala LTZ. What's that, a 5.3L too? I guess. But yeah, biggest ticket I ever got was a $41 parking ticket.
Hey /o/ question:
Im in the market for a 75 FL. Still has the original radio and no DIN slot. Since I don't want to ruin the metal dash board with a hacksaw, are there smaller-than-DIN radios? Ones without head unit? I honestly got no clue how far 2017s car radios are but I would be perfectly happy with something small that has a USB slot, volume control and two buttons for skipping. No real need for a display. Is there something like that out there??
Pic somewhat related
>>16984410
Of course I'm in the market for a 75 F100 but the auto correct thought that FL was much more fitting
Yes, just get an amp with an RCA in and don't bother with a head unit at all
>>16984410
Isn't the head unit exactly what you're looking for..?
This guy is a Trimuph Daytona 675R killing machine
Lately I've been noticing in American movies and pictures that there are no vehicles like Hiluxes, L200, Pajero/Montero or 70Series Land Cruisers.
Also why aren't brands like Opel, Peugeot, Renault, Mahindra, Tata, Proton, not in the US? Are they all banned?

Do you prefer top-mounted pedals, or floor-mounted pedals?
Definitely ceiling-mounted.
They can both be equally good if they are laid out properly

this. its not important. the spacing is more important. my dune buggy has floor because no firewall
RAGE STORIES /o/ edition
I'm an American living in Greece, and I got rear-ended by an old man in a Mercedes while I was paying at a toll booth on the freeway.
My car was stationary.
Accident was witnessed by toll booth attendant, it was on camera, I had a receipt from toll booth with the time on it, and a cop was there.
I tried to be friendly but he refused to shake my hand or talk about what happened. He asked if my father was Greek (he is) and demanded to talk to him.
I asked for his insurance info, but he refused.
I went to the cop who was parked 50 feet away.
The cop said he didn't see anything, the he went and talked to the old man.
Cop comes back and asks why I won't let the old man talk to my father.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK???
Cop tells me to call my dad (who lives in the US) and let the old man talk to him.
Old man apologizes to my father, but not me.
My father tells me just to drop it. The man is over 65 years old. By Greek law he'll have to take an eye/medical exam to see if he's too old to drive and probably loose his license if he's held responsible, so the authorities probably just won't hold him responsible.
Sure as shit, the cop let the man go while I was on the phone with my dad.
I ask him WTF? He said the man was too proud to apologize to me, so he apologized to my father aaaaaand... justice is served.. so that settles it!!! Now get the fuck out of here.
All I had was his license plate number. I tried reporting it, but it didn't go anywhere.
>>16982471
Lol third world bullshit.
It's ok. I'm American with Greek family too so I have plenty of experience with stupid bullshit.
>>16982475
It just makes my blood boil, but I kind of understand because most Greek men my age (fucking 30) don't have jobs and still live with their parents, so the cop decided to "let the adults handle it."
Wow, what a shithole lmao
I feel like the people always arguing for automatic transimissions have never even driven stick. And not faggy paddle shifter things, a real stick shift with a proper clutch and really worked your way throught feeling every gear you feel so connected to your car that It's a totally different driving experience
I have driven both and as someone who knows waht it feels like to heel toe break with your vehicle I don't see how anyone could really argue that the automatic is better because of muh technology advances
pic related. I would rather have that than a brand new vette if it were automatic I'm sorry idc about w.e moneywise but the stick would be so much more fun even for a cheap old used car vs brand new
>>16981681
Its ok. You might grow up some day.
Wow, what an original and thought-provoking opinion and accompanying post. You sure are the only person in the world to have ever held this stance on automatic and manual transmissions.
>>16981681
>automatic is better because of muh technology advances
But it is in some cases.
My husband and I purchased our AE86 hatch in 1986 from a private party who was moving out of the country and had to sell the car. Initially it was the family drift missile, but a few years later we bought a 1988 R31 GTS that became my principal car, until my husband got a job with a courier service. He took the newer car because it got better gas mileage.
I was not happy about switching cars, but soon fell in love with the 1986 model. It is a GT Apex Trueno, so it's peppier than the R31 and has a nicer interior. Anyone who knows me has heard me say more than once, "I love my car." We had a sun louver installed to keep the heat down, which helped on several downhills on Akina. I remember my niece saying "Waaaaa!すげいですよ!" when she saw the car for the first time. It sure made me feel good to hear that the younger generation liked the car, too.
I have been known to drift in the middle of the block in order to grab a parking space. I really like the versatility of the hatchback. I feel so good about having a car that I can use to move a wedding gown all laid out, a full set of track wheels and even a five-foot Christmas tree.
I can rely on my car to get me safely from checkpoint to checkpoint without any unscheduled spin-outs. The seats are comfy and I get 30 mpg overall. That thrills my hectic side. People have stopped and asked me if it is for sale. Of course I tell them no. My husband would like to get me a new car, but I also tell him no. Why would I want to give up such a great car? It is versatile, economical, and a master of the downhill - and it satisfies my need for practicality, thriftiness and looking good.

Its kinda fucking crazy how many sites are doing this now. when Forbes started doing it they lost a chunk of web traffic.
Youtubers who make their living off making Youtube content are having money making ads removed from their videos by Youtube itself if they speak about the recent Syria events or sometimes for no reason at all.
Trump or congress supposedly passing laws allowing companies like google to actively sell your browsing data.
I wonder if the internet is going through major change over the next 10 years.
>>16981236
>>16981460
The best part is you can still get around this. 5 clicks from Ublock and I'm back into Forbes or KBB. Can't stop me niggas.
>>16982070
The problem isn't the ads by themselves - It's when a site like Forbes is running ads that can give your computer malware. Because nobody can seem to get this little detail right, my adblocker will always be up.
