Why are SUVs so popular? 90% of the people with one never leave the city
It's the "I want a pickup truck but the fucking wife wants a minivan." car.
>>17001632
Yeah no it's more like "my wife wants a minivan but I don't want anyone to see a minivan in my driveway" car. they're all driven by women under the illusion that they need to have the biggest thing around to be safe.
I need a station wagon, but I don't want it to be *called* a station wagon.
It's about that time for another guess the car by the instrument panel thread.
> We post instrument panels and anons try to guess what cars we drive.
> The rarer/harder to guess the better
I'll start with an easy one

GM SUV (Suburban) from the last decade or so?
Gmc canyon pre 2015 or chevrolet colorado pre 2015 ?
>>17001044
No
>>17001161
Damn you're good.
How does 100 grand under the hood look? In 2001 dollars.
it was 100k in repairs.
It had a Ford engine swapped in.
>>16993026
Like this
rip mercedes ;~;7
hey look it's this thread again
>when will hyundaitards stop?
>half the price
>better the value
>better interior without trim falling down
>engine bay parts wont melt
>will not mechanically shatter
>will not develop electronic gremlins within it's first 20k miles
HOW THE FUCK, I repeat, HOW THE FUCK, can mercedes even compete?
>pseudolux gookmobile
rofl
Which one of these is the all rounder when it comes to reliability, dependability and maximum piece of mind? Put the cost aside.
All of them. Everything else is just brand allegiance
>>16990641
We don't do that here
gas pickups do not offer reliability, dependability, or piece of mind
>four cylinders
>300bhp
>SIXTY
>FUCKING
>THOUSAND
>DOLLARS
>WITHOUT ANY OPTIONS AT ALL
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Can manufacturers stop doing that.
>>17006878
It's ok on a 4 pot.
>>17006878
b-but it's sporty looks without making the 4cylcuck feel like he bought shit
>next-gen 1 series will be FWD and AWD only with 3cyl and 4cyl engines only
>have to buy a x30i/d to get a inline 6 these days, the brands former staple
>next generation of 1/2/3/4/5 series will probably be 4 cylinders across the board
>every single car they sell right now is turbocharged (in most markets)
>cars getting bigger and fatter every year making them way too big for the European market
>M brand watered down to piss thanks to it being slapped on almost everything including SUV's
>looking more and more like generic Hyundia's/Kia's as time goes on
>focus on gimmick bullshit like hand gesture control and parking car with the key
>9/1 ratio of automatics to manuals sold on M cars
>next generation M cars will almost certainly be automatic only thanks to complicated hybrid and electric turbocharging drivetrain they are likely to use
>M cars will also probably start using AWD now like Mercedes AMG products are right now thanks to the unnecessarily high power outputs
>no longer a luxury brand since every piss poor faggot on minimum wage can finance one
So it's pretty obvious BMW has fallen off a cliff since Chris Bangle in the early-2000s started ruining their designs and making everything look like half-baked concept cars, and they've been steadily getting worse as time progressed.
How long until BMW is officially dead and buried as an enthusiast brand?
>>17006491
>>next-gen 1 series will be FWD and AWD only with 3cyl and 4cyl engines only
The 2 series is replacing the 1 series and is still RWD/I6
>>have to buy a x30i/d to get a inline 6 these days, the brands former staple
Turbo I4s are more economical and people buying lower BMW models don't give a shit
>>next generation of 1/2/3/4/5 series will probably be 4 cylinders across the board
Not an argument
>>every single car they sell right now is turbocharged (in most markets)
BMW turbos are overall pretty reliable and free of any discernable lag, I actually like them because they give the cars a shitton of low-end torque compared to the NA V8s/I6s
>>cars getting bigger and fatter every year making them way too big for the European market
Again, 2 series.
>>M brand watered down to piss thanks to it being slapped on almost everything including SUV's
M sport is not the same thing as M
>>looking more and more like generic Hyundia's/Kia's as time goes on
You could say that about any car, the F32/F22 still easily stand out in a crowd
>>focus on gimmick bullshit like hand gesture control and parking car with the key
They're not "focusing" on that, if you don't like it don't use it. /o/ shitposts about any feature beyond AC in any car but they're commonly pretty nice to have when you give them a chance (I miss my keyless entry/start)
>>9/1 ratio of automatics to manuals sold on M cars
Nothing to do with BMW
cont
>>17006527
>>next generation M cars will almost certainly be automatic only thanks to complicated hybrid and electric turbocharging drivetrain they are likely to use
Slippery slope and also not an argument
>>M cars will also probably start using AWD now like Mercedes AMG products are right now thanks to the unnecessarily high power outputs
We're complaining about power now? At worst they'll offer AWD, it doesn't mean you have to buy it
>>no longer a luxury brand since every piss poor faggot on minimum wage can finance one
They've been doing that forever, exclusivity has nothing to do with luxury
Your arguments are pretty much either all baseless speculation, misinformation or "NOO THINGS ARE CHANGING AND I DON'T LIKE IT I'VE NEVER DRIVEN IT BUT I KNOW I HATE IT"
>>17006531
.........you would think you get quality comparable to the price you pay..
nope, instead you get a bmw, where the price far exceeds the quality of the product!
OK so I've been recommended for a Trucking job by my father, but I know FUCK ALL about truck driving and I need to get a Class A license and dont even know where to start aside from "goto the DMV and take a test"
What do??
>Pic related, the closest thing to Truck Driving I've ever done
>>17005591
you're fucked.
>>17005591
Practice in a truck. Go to DMV and take test. Be prepared to sit on your ass 12+ hours a day. Your health to rapidly decline. Never be home. Have no type of social life. And to make maybe $60k a year at best after years in the industry. But more likely $35k for a while. Trucking is a shit job, don't let trucker fags lie to you. You can become an owner operator and after expenses maybe make $60-$70k a year. But that would require you to be on the road every day.
>>17005625
I sit on my ass all day working from home as a customer service phone operator. I'll be fine.
and what do you mean practice in a truck? I drive a standard GMC 1500 already, but I dont think that counts.
Holy SHIT, what the HELL is that?
It's alright. At least it's not a Lexus.
>>17005584
No, Lexus is actually a luxury car.
>>17005584
>monumentally overpriced honda aimed at clueless well off people
>Hurr durr at least its not a lexus
Consider reevaluating yourself
What does /o/ think of non conventional interior colors like red/blue/green etc.
I notice Lincoln and Lexus are doing it more and more, Lincoln with it's black label and Lexus with the LC
>>17005508
white and bue interior a best
>>17005508
>that interior
how can gm compete?
Anything but bright blue LEDs because SUCH FUTURE MUCH WOW YOU ARE ROCKET SHIP PILOT WOW MODERN is fine with me. Blue light in itself makes people anxious, irritable and neurotic where orange and red hued lights are calming
I found a cheap $800 6 cylinder fiero on craigslist, the only con is that it jerks a lot when accelerating. Low miles, no frame rust. Is this a relatively easy fix (vacuum lines possibly?) or should I steer far away from this money sink? The owner tried replacing intake/valve cover gaskets, spark plugs and wires, and the fuel filter and none of that helped.
Here's a video I was sent of the problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA9fVJvt5mc

Miles: 32,425 Asking Price: $38,950 Carfax 1-owner(Leasing co) Warranty expired. Need opinion/advice. Tnx

This should tell you everything you need to know.
If you are going to purchase an aftermarket warranty, have the cash, or can repair things like the air suspension yourself when they break then I say go for it. They are amazing vehicles.
price dropped from $41,000 here is Carfax
Reminder that the only "argument" against RWD is
>muh chillins
>Cost
>Practicality
>Size
>Ease of use
>>17004726
the other argument is
>RWD is HAAAARD
More expensive, more parts, less efficient (in both fuel economy and hp vamprism), heavier, less interior space.
There's plenty of arguments against it.
Has /o/ ever had a sexual experience in their car?
My boyfriend sucked me off while I drove down the highway at the end of our second date.
>>17004625
fuck off fag.
I've had a sufficient amount of road head and hand-jobbage by my ford engineer ex-gf.
