This.
Our most despised tripfag is a furry who is mostly known for that time he almost got himself killed because he sucks at driving.
There's also that one time an absolute madman snuck "heartbreaker bait" into the first letter of each sentence in his thread, and actually got the cunt to reply.
Audio system advice needed.
Took a drive tonight and my audio system started acting up. Car is 1999 Corvette. The head unit, amp, and sub are all about as old as the car so it's probably time to just gut it all.
I want something of decent quality that has some bump, but can keep me in the $300 range. My hearing is shot anyway, so it doesn't have to be audiophile quality.
Whatever is in there is pretty much guaranteed to be better than anything you can put together for $300 today, just fix whatever the issue is. Old doesn't mean bad. People pay $600+ for Alpine EQs from the early 90s and PPI amps from the 80s because they sound better than most of the high end stuff that's made today.
You'd get a lot of gain having most, if not all replaced. Replace speakers with anything that isn't made out of paper like the stock ones, will make a big difference. The sub and amp would probably take some research on what would fit and still have the oem look. Head unit there is a big variety. I personally would recommend HD radio.
>>17064231
I just replaced the amps with a set of kenwood amps my dad had from the 90s. Old ones were overheating. Theyre pretty decent. The unit is garbage, I'll probably try my luck with an ebay unit.
Basically what happened is the sub quit putting out the bass. I could get the bass to come back by turning the volume up really loud. So Im thinking its the sub, but really anything could be wrong.
Maybe I should start with the sub because it is dated for 2001 so it's probably toast, and work up from there.
What would be a good sub for a decent price?
Is this a good classic project car? It's a 1968 Jaguar XJ, the engine needs work but the body has no rust and it already has a nice paint job.

Drop a 2JZ

>no rust
yeah uh sure
not a bad project, less electricals than an xj40 and iirc no hydraulic fuckery too.
Just don't expect it to be fast or in good condition mechanically (expect worn bushings and such)

Hi /o/,
don't post here ever but figured maybe someone could help suggest something.
I've got this mystery fluid covering about 1/3 of my 96 Subaru Liberty/Legacy's engine.
The fluid doesn't have an odor or colour and I've always guessed it is water. As far as I'm aware this has been going on for at least 4 or 5 months with no actual issue for the car's performance besides dirtying the front left wheel.
The car was serviced about 2 months ago and the only suggestions that I think could be linked to the issue was a recommended engine degrease and brake fluid flush. Otherwise the mechanic didn't mention anything about the fluid.
I'll post some pics. Thanks !
>>17063777
some of these are awful photos I know but if you look hard you can see the fluid on the car, collecting dirt etc.
>>17063788
Looks like your coolant is mostly water.

I'm sorry, I love the BRZ/FRS, but your OP is just retarded.
The car would have benefitted from having 250-300 hp instead, that's for sure.
>At first I'd never thought of it, why change the name? It's the president Americans selected, it's similar to the president's name, this has to be good right?
>Executives at the firm and its parent Guangzhou Automobile Group (601238.SS) say they may now change the Trumpchi brand - which was meant to sound like its Chinese name Chuanqi, which is a play on the word "legendary" and means passing good fortune - after it drew some ridicule at the Detroit auto show in January.
>"We saw people were laughing at this and took pictures looking only at this detail, and also put on Facebook or other websites," GAC Motor Design Director Zhang Fan told Reuters. "When we read all that feedback, we realized it might not be very positive promotion for the brand."
>the Trumpchi brand
>which was meant to sound like its Chinese name Chuanqi
Either this is really stretching it, or Chuanchi isn't pronounced anything like how it is spelled.
>>17064000
*Chuanqi
>>17064000
Chinese isn't usually pronounced like it's spelled.
This guy i used to work with was named Thuan.
You pronounced it "choon" although he got used to people saying "twan"

what year is that?
This kills the Escalade
This kills the range Rover too
Why buy amerifat "luxury" when you can buy a Gwagon or Land Rover?
And before hurrdurr relaibility, if you can afford any of this over priced garbage you can afford the extended warranty and just have the dealer fix it.

Who on /o/ has actually driven a GT-R?
Which generation did you prefer?
>>17063246
I have driven them all in video games dating back to Gran Turismo 1
Now I'm on Forza 6, I always manage to acquire all the skylines pretty early and rice the shit out of them
I always return to the r33 being best
This response didn't really answer your question but it is a legitimate bump
I have much of the same credentials as >>17063272
by far my favorite was the Hakosuka lightened up on sticky tires and about 250 screaming NA power
the agility response and revs were just amazing compared to any of the later heavier AWD GT-Rs
I've only driven an R34 GT-R
it was modified so I have no idea what the stock one drives like
This goy just tried to break in. What the fuck vehicle is this? US, by the way.
