How much power is good for street driving?
No less than a pickup truck. So around 420.
>>17076063
How many chickens do you have? Post some other ones too.
500HP is ideal for a daily driver. <400 can get boring easily, >600 is becoming unusable in the real world.
How does one even attempt this without getting pulled over or dying?
>asking for a friend because I'm a khhv
>>17075925
Do it or not. There is no try.
>>17075932
How does one do this

Hot. Movie/Show?
>meet up with guy I went to college with
>oh hey your car is a stick shift so is mine!
>hey we both drive hondas
>watch him drive
>try to inform him that he's shifting too early (going up to like 5th gear at 60 kmh, shifting into third at 30 instead of 43 as per the manual)
>no it's ok bro i got this
>>17075920
>being autistic.
>>17075936
this
its not like hes fucking lugging the engine or anything cruising in 6th around town in his torqueless heap of shit.
>>17075936
How is that "autistic"? Shifting too early means that you might be lugging the engine, it means you won't accelerate quickly enough, while also burning up more gas.
>it's okay bro I drive a manual transmission because it has better fuel economy
>engine starts to rumble as he shifts into fourth gear at 40
Thoughts on the updated 2017 DeLorean DMC-12?
>80% original parts made in the 1980s
>The interior will also get a breath of modernity thanks to air conditioning from Vintage Air, updated consumer electronics, and more comfortable seating.
>Price under $100000
Future plans:
>DeLorean is also currently in talks with manufacturers of prominent V6 engines
>Electric DeLorean
A prototype exists. Apparently the DMC-12 has lots of space for batteries, could reach substantial range
>>17075875
Here's hoping for a GM LGX V6
>>17075875
>Electric DeLorean
It's the only way.
>the new DMC-12 is expected to offer anywhere between 350 and 400 horsepower

I am scared of going too fast and losing control. What is the slowest possible car that I can buy from the last 10 years?
someone is going to post the gt86 and it is going to be absolutely epic xD

How the fuck am I supposed to unstick a fucking bolt when my socket extension can't even hold up to me turning the breaker bar BY HAND? It's not harbor freight shit either, I don't know what brand I'm fucking pissed. I sprayed PB Blaster all over the cunt and tried heating the area with a torch. I have an impact wrench that should be more than powerful enough but it won't budge this thing either and actually does less than the breaker and my muscles. I don't think my air compressor is up to the task of driving it.
FUCK RUST it's no goddamn wonder all car culture is situated on the west coast.
Also yes I realize that's a torque wrench and not a breaker bar, I use it as one because it's old and busted and it's way longer than my other 3/8" wrenches.
>>17075598
I said I tried torching it. I can't afford an oxy/acetylene setup so I've got one of those red single-can things.
>These are the factory exhaust welds on a new $37k Buick Lacrosse
How can GM still believe they can compete?
Those bolts look like hell
>>17075519
>new
It's already leaking oil.
>>17075519
yea the welds are bad
but what the fuck is up with the routing of the exhaust
>straight down
>90 deg angle forward
>180 deg to head towards back of car

Are wooden steering wheels nice to use or will it be uncomfortable/tacky?
Wondering about this, they look so nice but it's a concern
Thinking about getting this or just going for an OMP wheel if it's not gonna be nice to use

WHAT IS THE BEST PHONE MOUNT FOR YOUR VEHICLE??? I'M LEANING TOWARDS SOMETHING THAT STICKS TO THE WINDSHIELD. FEELS BETTER TO MAINTAIN EYE LEVEL WITH THE ROAD, RIGHT? OR JUST HMU WITH WHATEVER IS WORKING FOR YOU
>best phone mount for my car?
My pocket.
Sometimes I mount my phone in the console, connected to the charger
usually it's mounted in my pocket
>>17075040
I have a MOBO one stuck to the lower left side of my windshield, close to the steering wheel. It's alright.
/o/ whats your craziest car plan?
I unironically plan to import a twingo
Buying the new RX-7 if Mazda reveals it. It'll probably be very expensive to own for someone making 60k/yr and be impractical enough that I require a roof rack, but I'll manage.
>>17074983
...
fuck you i'll bite
why
>>17074983
I've posted this before, but
>take B5.5 Passat V6 4Motion
>take rear-ended/otherwise damaged B5 S4/RS4 or C5 A6 2.7T
>remove drivetrain from Audi
>build up engine for 500hp or so
>put Audi drivetrain into Passat shell
>add base model bumpers
>add 1.6 badging
>go out and bully cunts on the Autobahn with a pleb VW wagon
Direct Drive and camless engines are the future of automobiles, when is Koenigsegg going to make an affordable family sedan?
It's gay. No family is going to buy it.
Nobody who hates whoozybits electronic bullshit is going to buy it.
>>17074910
Who the hell would want one?
If I want a cheap "lambo door" kit I'd buy a fagged-out car from 10 years ago.
Why do people always feel the need to masturbate their egos by naming everything after themselves?

I'm stuck in a bit of a dilemma:
>Live in Michigan
>Live where there are many large hills & curvy roads
>Want fun & practical car
>Does not matter whether FR, RR, or FF
>Something I can slowly work on over and slowly upgrade, not too costly
>Been doing research for more than 3 years on cars of all kinds, not biased towards one brand
>Stuck between 3 cars:
>87-89 Z31 300zx (little part support, but there is a local datsun specialist, mid size hatch, independent rear suspension, dedicated community, can get a 100k example for less than $6k)
>99-02 NB Mimi (massive aftermarket, cheaper to maintain than the Z31, can only carry a spare tire and 3 bags of groceries, because MI hardtop is a must so add $900 - 1k for an OEM top)
>88-91 CRX (Honda parts bin galore, even cheaper than Mimi, can find a very good example for $5k, practical hatch, slow but fun)
I live near my Uni. in an apartment so I don't have a garage, but my first purchase outside the car (and various small driv-ability upgrades like undercoating) would be an all season car cover.
I always park in a safe area where nobody else parks, but I always fear some drunk sorority dinddu would try to steal my shit, scratch it, or damage it in some way, so this plays a big role in my decision.
I've been fighting myself over these cars for a long time, written to various shows for advice, and consulted my uni car club to no avail.
What does /o/ think I should do?
>>17074806
>300ZX
>Hatchback
FASTBACK
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>17074806
Nobody would steal a Miata. Your CRX would be gone within a week.
Z31 is pree chubchub desu. I loved mine but they're more cruiser cars than a curvy road car.
>>17074870
Yeah, I really love the Z31 and it's longbody wedge car design. I always go traveling so it's cruising mentality is something I highly admire. Did you use yours as a daily? That's something I'm obviously going to be doing.
