>considering buying a manual Miata ND
>never driven stick shift before
>will probably just learn as I drive it off the lot
Is this a terrible idea?
Yes on so many levels, just practice with a friend's car on an airfield or field
>>17086350
I respectfully disagree, I think it's a decent idea if you find an isolated country road.
>>17086334
Just buy an automatic Miata. Don't fall for the stick shift meme.
RIP Germany
>>17085847
Anon why did you post this?
it doesn't have "muh racing heritage" nor a diesel version so the europeans won't like it. you could probably make the best sedan in the world at a cheaper price than MB or BMW it still wouldn't sell in europe.
Cool Infiniti.

TETSUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Akira?
There are two listed, one for 10k with 90,000 miles and basic seats, and a fully loaded one with 70,000 miles and recaros for 12k.
Alternatives - 2010 Mustang GT - 10k, 80,000 miles
Probably been abused to hell and back, 3 owners, fleet vehicle.
- 2005 Audi S4 /w 85k miles. Not too big on this one, I know the S4 is a great lil car but I'm afraid it'll be too maintenance intensive, and the dealership selling it has a reputation of being particularly scummy. 10.5k.
- 2006 Z4 3.0i - 50k miles, 10k price. Only mentioned because I'm a big fan of these cars. 3.0i because budget + always been taught if buying BMW buy N/A straight six as they do those correct.
- 2003 Honda S2000 - 10k, 150k miles.
Pretty sure the F20 is a reliable engine, and it's a clean fucking titled no accidents reported bone fucking stock S2k. I didn't want another Honda but I'll take this one desu.
I'm going to keep looking and post itt.
>>17084958
>there are two listed
Shit, there are two Fiesta ST's listed*
>>17084958
2 coupes
2 convertibles
The mustang is going to be the least expensive to maintain.
Z4 will be the most expensive
S2000 Its a honda so probably your most reliable of the 4. Plus if you don't beat the shit out of it, S2000's are keeping their value pretty well.
>>17084970
It was meant to be my "fun" car that I used to help build credit, but I'm not really opposed to buying a more economical option as long as it makes me grin.
First and second gen Mazdaspeed3s
First gen - 10k, 77k miles.
Second gen - 11k, 100,000 miles.
I've heard issues about smoking turbos, around what mileage does that pop up?
Sentra """Nismo"""

Good job Subaru.

are these a good idea? i know ebay is sketchy for car parts and shit but lug nuts couldnt be that bad could they?
ITT we describe people we know who buy new cars. How is it that these car companies sell so many new cars when the used market is so much better value?
Bonus points if they aren't auto enthusiasts who are buying their dream porsche or someting.
The guy I know bought his Yaris new 'because it would be more reliable'. He financed his car loan and still hasn't paid it off. He owes more than the piece of shit is worth. His mom told him to do it because it would be the smart choice. I told him to just go full cuck and buy a used smart car because they are so hated in the USA the used ones are cheap and barely used.
i bought a new car because i wanted one
>>17071107
My dad.
He owns a company car, which they supply to him with a brand new Ford every single year, 100% payed gas, maintenance, insurance, etc.
He married a bitch latina and they just had twins. So he needed a second car. I told him to spend $4000 and get a mint crown vic, and use the rest of the money to spend on maintenance, gas and insurance. But she didnt like that idea.
He went out and bought a fucking brand new Jeep Liberty or Patriot or whatever for $20 000 which sat in his driveway literally all winter because he couldnt afford the insurance on it due to a DUI he got 5 years ago.
So, he COULD HAVE been driving the option I suggested but he just NEEDED a new car.
What a fucking stupid move. My parents never listen to my advice and it always slaps them right in the face.

if miatas are built for grip, why do autists insist on turning them into drift cars?
because they are dumb. it's well known that the miata isn't a good drift car. the wheelbase and weight distribution is better suited for handling. something like a 240 is much better
>>17087318
>if miatas are built for grip
they aren't
>>17087318
you can thank youtubers like Haggard Garage for that.
Also video games like Forza and the such.
In order to get the Miata to properly drift you have to spend more money on it than you would for a 240sx.
