Looking to get one of these bad boys. At least 07 if not newer. Always liked them. I need RWD, easy to work on, reliable. Lots of variations. Tips? Stories? How solid is the drivetrain really and maintenance? 98 5spd 2.5 Ranger currently been good to me but need a sedan with AC. Worked on older Mercedes and Lexus a lot.
Eye candy

Do you pay parks to go offroading or do you freeball it?
Anyone from the CA central valley area around? I haven't been up to Strawberry Lake in years but want to head up there in a month or two, wondering how that area is these days.

See pic related.
Why are co workers calling me retarded for driving the speed limit with "a car like that"? Are they just jelly?
>>17774554
Will getting an AW11 satisfy the craving I have for a fast, fun, lightweight, and reliable shitbox?
Is there anything an SW20 can do that an AW11 can't? I can actually find SW20s cheaper than an AW11.
What precautions have Florida posters on /o/ done to secure their car?
>>17834244
All that over a venza?
>>17834269
People from florida are... different.
>>17834244
lock the doors
What do you guys think about mgb's?
They're fun, but slow. Great to learn to wrench on, and a good entry-level classic
Very cute.
>>17834095
They're turds with either the iron truck engine 4 cylinder or dogshit even heavier iron MGC inline 6. If you can, either swap something good into it like an SR20 or get an MGB GT V8, which has the aluminum block 3.5L Rover V8.
Why don't A2W intercoolers just cool the intake air with the car's main cooling system directly? Why does the intercooler system have to be seperate from the cooling system?
It's much more efficient to blow massive amounts of outdoor temperature air over a huge radiator.
>>17833890
okay why not just make the cooling system's radiator bigger?
>>17833873
Because the cooling system is already absorbing all the engine heat. With a separate loop you get much cooler temps.
Ask a car salesman questions, get insider insights, get the right things to ask, etc.
I'm assuming this shit is pretty standard on /o/ but I figured I'd make a thread.
A little info:
>been selling cars for 3 months, that's it
>I sell ~13/month so far, very strong for a total n00b but not spectacular on the whole
>I sell for a Ford dealership
>normal boards for me are /k/, /his/, /sci/, and /an/
>I used to do small-batch pharmaceutical QC but I fucking love this job
What do you want to know about how dealerships operate? What seems fishy to you about your last dealership experience? Is something you've encountered a trick or legit?
Let's see where this goes. No trip because I'm a fag for OP but not a total faggot. Pic is my favorite concept car of all time.
Any tips on getting into being a car salesman? My calculus professor was talking about his brother has made over 100k/year since he was 19 by selling cars. I think I'm pretty good at manipulating people.
>>17833875
have you lost your soul yet?
>>17833875
A dealership sold me a used lemon with a third party warranty attached.
Neither the dealer or third party warranty company were going to pay for the replacement engine and they were just going to let the car sit in the back of their parking lot until it got repo'd. This all changed however when I hired an attorney and he left one single voicemail to the dealer. As of right now, my engine in the piece of shit they sold me is being replaced.
Why were they so scared of an attorney? All I want is the fucking car I bought to run, and the $3,000 warranty I paid for, to actually happen but those pricks thought I was just going to let them get by and me do nothing after selling me a broken car.
How do I make my shitbox un stealable besides low jack
Live in a white neighborhood.
Drive something people don't want to steal, obviously. Just remember that cheap shitboxes are some of the most stolen vehicles because it's easy to move the parts for them.

Best one he ever had (RIP) was a 93' ford escort, shitbox trim. You had to turn on the headlights to start the engine.
Is “HUR DUR, THEY ARE TRYING TO BE LIKE THE GERMANS" the dark souls comparison of car culture?
What did he mean by this?
i don't know what that analogy means
but it's truly pathetic when poorfag companies like GM try to emulate Audi/BMW/Mercedes
>OOOH LOOK IT'S GOT AUDI LIGHTS
Seriously, what did he mean by this?
Is a cracked exhaust pipe worth fixing? Doesn't really do much besides make the car run noisy for a few minutes after starting up in the morning.
>>17833358
Just put JB Weld over some tinfoil if you don't mind Micky Mousing it
>>17833365
I asked a mech to weld it for a cheap fix and he said he didnt feel confident doing it. The crack's in a p awkward spot
>>17833358
It's extremely important. You'll burn and die.
Elaborate on something for me, /o/. If no one on /out/ actually goes outdoors, no one on /k/ owns a gun, no one on /tv/ watches movies, no one on /lit/ actually reads, no one on /lgbt/ is actually gay, no one on /mu/ listens to music, and no one on /r9k/ is actually a "robot," then does that mean no one on this board actually owns a car?
>>17833829
See you on the bus faggot
Pretty sure the Papercraft and Origami board is the only one that actually participates in the focus of the board's content. Everyone else is just shitposting and memes.
Yes you're exactly right

It can be an airplane though
How do you personalize a car?
When does you car become "worth" bringing to meets and shows?
When/what should a car remain "clean" and "stock"?
When is it ok to spice up your shitbox?
I watch shit like RCR and see owns passionate about literal who shitboxes and pour tons of time and energy to get these awful cars looking nice.
How do I learn to appreciate my daily?
>>17832758
Firstly, you shouldn't be considering making your daily driver a show car, thatch just too much of a hassle to keep up with and you'll most likely sink more money into upkeep alone than you can keep track of.
That being said, a daily driver can be modified within reasonable standards, just don't add any exorbitant performance parts that could compromise the engine later on, ESPECIALLY if your daily is the only car you own.
>>17832758
>How do you personalize a car?
YOU don't. People who actually know what they want to change in their car and why, DO.
DON'T risk fucking up your daily unless you fancy riding the bus. DO buy a cheap shitpile that barely runs and fix it into something respectable. Then you'll start to know what you might change out and why.
>>17832758
I think cleaning and waxing is good enough for a shitbox (for an absolute minimal thing to do). If people took care of their paint a lot of regular cars I see would easily look 30% better

Are these cars really as bad as people say? Why does /o/ hate the brz/frs so much? Seems decent as a DD, which is what most people do anyway
no one says there bad except for tards who thinks it should weigh 2500 lbs have 400hp and cost 20k new
>>17832273

>>17832273
its a great car, its real flaw is costing the same amount as a wrx which is a better car
