Hello /o/, this is my first time on here, and I thought it would be cool to try it out. I am a junior in highschool and I am thinking of purchasing my first car. The problem is I don't know much about cars in general. The car (pic related) I plan to buy is the Mitsubishi 3000gt. I've wanted this car since freshman year because one of my senior friends drove one and it was so beautiful. I happened to find one for sale near me in a town 20 minutes away by some chance. This 3000GT for sale is automatic, the mileage is 98k. I've saved up money from a job and I have a little over 8,000$ saved up. This car is listed as 6000$, what do you guys think? Should I make this purchase? Are there more things I should research?

>3000GT
>first car
FUCK NO! Run away from that pile of unreliable shit as fast as you can.
you need to be 18 or older to post on this site
$8,000 is pretty high for a 3000GT.
>tfw you're in your miata and blasting YMCA and In the navy

I turn the child/window locks on so they're stuck down in my bright blue fagmobile and blast shit like "hello kitty" by avril lavigne and sign along with it at stop lights in traffic to embarrass my gf. Still wondering why she hasn't left me.
>tfw want to blast Bee Gees while cruising miats but afraid of getting shot on the country backroads/towns
State wasn't even part of the south but there's still confederate flags hanging here and there
and then you pull up to a red light and you turn down your stereo like the bitch that you are

Not if I kill myself now.
don't care
>human driven cars will stop being produced in your lifetime
>human driven cars will be banned on public roads in your lifetime
Strayans of /o/, if any of you are still here with the shit that went down in /dat/, I'm an Amerifat moving to Gold Coast in July and I have around 15k USD which is about 20k roobux to blow on a car or cars.
I basically looking for
>v8 Manual preferably wagon
Or
>4x4 with a manual
Or
>Japanese sports car
Are R33 GTSts reliable for daily driving? What about GTRs?
pic semi related. Almost exact same to my blazer
>V8 manual wagon
Commodore SS sportswagon.
>Are R33 GTSts reliable for daily driving
Most are pretty fucked, but if you fix it up and don't do stupid shit it'll treat you well enough. Parts are reasonably available.
It's a huge cop magnet though, and fairly fuel thirsty.

If you already have a 92-94 Blazer, what more do you need? Drop an NV4500 and L29 into it. You can even convert it to RHD if you want once you get there.
Ve commodore wagon
Patrol Navara hilux even a Land cruiser
R33 gtst is fine for daily drivijg if you buy a good one, can get a r34 gtt for that price though
Are C6 Corvettes really that much better than C5s?
I have a 2003 C5 now and all the 90s-designed GM crap is starting to wear on me. I've also figured out, if you add up all the parts I've had to replace, I could have making the payment on a C6 instead (assuming nothing broke on it).
The whole point of a Corvette is to put GM's highest performing V8 in a light, aerodynamic chassis and everything else comes from the parts bin. I don't think a C6 will be much of an interior improvement.

put this meme to rest
Which $100,000+ car do you least desire to own?
Look up Zimmer Golden Spirit.
That should rank at the top of everyone's list
Also anything Arab or Russian
anything with a ford badge

>Zimmer Golden Spirit.
Looks like someone parked a early 2000's convertible Mustang into some old-timey shit.

if there's a simpler obd that's cheaper than this and only displayed the current speed. I'd buy it over this.

How much is it? What about torque pro and an android phone with the bafx Bluetooth adapter?

yeah but why would you be rising a streetfighter through dirty water?
dry clutches suck for riding around town anyways
>>17139128
It's not stupid. Motorcycles emit more particulates, CO, and NOx than cars. You know, literal poison gases at street level.
What's stupid is not even letting motorcycles filter to the front of red lights so they just sit there, idling through traffic along with the monster trucks, holding up additional cars so they just sit there and idle, because "all motor vehicles are the same and must abide by the same rules".
>Americans
>Smart
You can't even park your bike wherever it fits and does not obstruct traffic, but if it has pedals instead of pistons, go ahead, lean it against whatever the fuck you want because it's not a motor vehicle!
>we have no parking space ohmygod better take the bus

I live in the south, I rarely leave the pavement, and I don't have to worry about snow. Hell, I should get one.
>Craigslist later that year. Most trucks need a ton of work, but I want the inline 300 and a stick. Most ppl want ~$2k.
>Find picture related on a farm. Belonged to farmers brother, brother got a new truck, farmer got it and has been running hay around with it for the past few years.
>It's covered in mud, brakes squeal, and the vacuum tree on the engine is duck taped together; so the interior vent selection is outta whack + a bunch of other small stuff.
>Guy wants $1000. Truck has 300,000 miles.
>Deal.
OMG what a beast. Drove down the street and fixed the vacuum problem same day. Under all the mud is nice paint. I've got about $1000 in parts in it and $1000 worth of craigslist wheels and BFGoodrich KO2's. '
Without a doubt the best purchase I've ever made. I parked my E39 just to drive this thing around most of the time. Cheaper on gas than the BMW, takes regular, and drives like a 100,000 mile truck. Classic styling, and built like an absolute tank. Its definitely a life hack, not as old as an F100, but not plastic new either.
Haven't bought, just looked it up out of curiosity. This looks like quite a deal but the lack of interior pics scares me. What do you guys think? https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-Honda-Civic-CRX-d587#listing=172844254

as an europoor i envy you so much, fug
>>17138377
Haha, I know, you guys are so boned not having trucks. I mean, you have other things we don't have like classic Alfa Romeo's, but having to use SUV's and Van's for everything sucks.
>>17138366
I would worry about Indiana rust more than the interior. Price seems steep for what it is. Is that the engine that got 50mpg?
What's the marketing strategy with Porsche making all their cars look identical?
People didn't like it when they tried to switch up their look, so they stick to what works.

At what point do you give up and sell your car, instead of trying (and failing) to maintain it?
>>17137835
If nonpersonal attachment, as soon as I have put more in the car than the resale value, I just cut my losses and continue on.
when it becomes uneconomic to repair ie its cheaper to buy another one
>>17137857
Pretty much this, also if work costs are involved.
