I really miss the golden years of the internet. Back when 4chan was still in its infancy, ytmnd was all the rage, and SA still had a semi non cancerous community. Oh and to keep it /o/ related, what car did you drive in high school? I drove a 89 civic.
>>17158118
Bought a 91 240sx in 2001 when i turned 16. I wasnt on 4chan, too much social interaction. I was at home watching hongkong intial d bootleg dvds.

Crazy to think that there's so few of them around anymore for kids to buy that aren't chopped up "drift cars" with sticker prices well above $10,000
at least faggots on this board still kept the fiero meme alive
What would happen if I put diesel in my civic?

A front engine torquey sled with a factory warranty and daily drivability is indeed slower around the track then a mod engined kit car stripped out go kart single seat cuckmobile with a half star safety rating, yes.

This car is now 9 years old, and offers nothing over an Camaro. When are we getting another one?
>>17156443
What did it offer over a Camaro or mustang back then?
Live axle mustangs were being compared to M3s. what was this being compared to ?
>>17156448
Not 9 years ago they weren't.
>>17156448
It had better handling (mechanical grip is not handling) than the base GT or SS last gen, and a better chassis. Not this gen though, there is no reason to get a 370Z over a new GT or V6 1LE, and if you can afford a 370Z Nismo, you can also get a SS 1LE.

I have the other two wheels, just saving for the second set of tires. Will have them in two weeks.
Indycar is finally switching to mostly road races and the Indy Grand Prix is coming up. Who's watching?
I'm not in to oval races but the Indy GP course is great.
Indycar has improved quite a bit. The cars still don't have the downforce of F1 but considering they cost so much less they are impressive.

>Can i get a quick rundown of indy cars
Grand Prix cars built an a Dallara DW12 chassis. Engine is a 2.2L twin turbo V6 made by either Honda or Chevrolet. Slight differences in aero help distinguish between a Honda-powered car and Chevy-powered car.
>>17155207
Basically slightly heavier 30mph faster top speed, burns e85 and has to refuel. F1 turns better and accelerates 0-60 better and indycars are faster and accelerate better 60+. I wasn't interested in indycar but I saw this year the tracks are 70% street and road.
Also Montoya and a few other F1 boys race in the league.
Thoughts on an RX8 as an entry level track beater?
>inb4 miata
No convertables.
>>17154257
A hardtop Miata.
I turned mine into one when i got a better DD.
Did the job well, no real reliability issues. It's power is pretty much tapped out from the factory, so I focused on suspension, brakes, keeping things cool and of course lightness. Fatter tires helped too.
It's faster in corners than a lot of track days staples like GTRs, R8s, and such, but obviously gets eaten alive on straits.
On a technical track where you can carry speed corner to corner, its really good. Easy to drive, good learner car for teaching how to properly enter and exit corners.
Parts are expensive, and when tracking you will get terrible gas mileage. Like 200km a tank. But otherwise it's a good beginner car.
Get an RX-7. The Renesis engines are fucking garbage when it comes to reliability.
Also, if you want a rotary for tracking, remember that you have to premix your fuel and that you have to redline your car every so often to burn off carbon deposits. DO NOT BABY IT. THE ROTARY ENGINE WAS MEANT TO BE REVVED TO THE LIMITER.
Do you love your car? Hate your car? Both? Or do you feel nothing towards it?
love everything about it 'cept how it looks and the fact its not a station wagon. acura rsx
I have a V6 Camry. The car pampers my every whim and comfort but I can't stop lusting after sportier cars.
>>17154145
I love it more than anything.
Prior to having it, I hated every waking moment of my life. I was constantly plagued with anxiety and I lacked motivation in life.
I bought it for way less than it's worth, and no matter how bad it gets, I know I can smile knowing it's my car, and I'm it's driver.
I have horrible nightmares of something happening to it. I've never felt this way about anything in life. I just want to drive my car forever.
Are Accord V6 Coupes good cars?
>>17153922
good for what?
>it's a car
>it runs
>good
be more specific
>>17153922
Think of it as maybe a FWD V6 Mustang. seems lightweight enough and has a fair amount of power.
If you mean "good" in terms of autistic'ly searching for the best possible choice so you don't have buyer's remorse then probably not but it isn't a bad decision per say. didn't even really need to ask as its too generic to sell you on and no quirks that would require any real advice on.
>>17153922
It'll beat any stock V6 Mustang, Camaro, Maxima, and just about any other car <$40k with a V6. It actually has a faster quarter mile time than a Charger R/T as well.
They're extremely reliable vehicles with good MPG, safety ratings, and performance.
I'd buy one if I had the money.
