I'm buying a new (european) car this week, and I'm currently hesitating between BMW 5 series, Mercedes E-class and Jaguar XF.
Got ~70k€ to spend.
What would be the best/most comfy ride?
Audi A5

Of those? The E-class
I'd probably just get a Lexus though desu

Anyone here own 2 or more registered cars? What is the costs like? how often do you drive each one any advice? Let's here it pal.
Only making payments on one of four, about $270 a month. Insurance is about $2500 a year for all 4; 2 have liability plus comprehensive, the other 2 have comprehensive and collision.
One car is the main dd and the other was recently inherited, I alternate between driving both for the time being. My truck only gets driven about once a week and often that's just to drive it.
Don't have more cars than you need. But I wanted a truck.
>>17190455
What cars do you have?
I have a small truck and a sedan. The truck costs me around $1000 p.a. The sedan was given to me under unexpected circumstances and it's a nice car (needs some work). I just cant justify spending probably the same amount again for a second car that i'll probably drive on weekends even though it would be nice. Thinking about rego'ing it, burning around in it for a year then sell it.
I've got these two on a motorcycle. It's not that bad unless I drive the truck everywhere and have to pay 30 dollars for gas every 4 days
How much horsepower were these things pushing? Between 300-400?
eclipse probably mid 300s
rx7 400s maybe
supra should be 600+
>>17190054
>eclipse probably mid 300s
No way, thats a fuckload of power back then. That would probably be when the nos is used, but driving around probably mid-high 200s
>>17190102

that eclipse allegedly cost $80,000

Just bought an unknown mileage previous-previous owner claims was rebuilt tranny....
Out of a 2000 Subaru Impreza, for my 2004...
How fucked am I?
Was $200... just lost my job recently, both our vehicles are broken.. can't really justify $1000+ at the tranny shop.
I hope this one is usable for a bit.. and I can rebuild our old one as a spare.
That's what you get for buying Japanese cars
>>17189843
Instead of buying what?
Or are you implying an American car wouldn't be $1000+ at the tranny shop? Because they will be too.

Bollinger motors electric pickup teaser

its extremely weak and lack luster. 80 mile range with a truck and there isn't any larger pickup solution?

>fleet only
Basically saying the only people willing to try them are forced and paid to drive these things by their employer.
Why are people so obsessed with making their cars look like they're faster than they really are? It's not just Civic owners, it's people with Neons and Hyundais too. They go all out and buy new rims, tint their windows, add fins, paint stripes on their car... why? It's old. You drive a shitty car, deal with it. Mitsubishi Eclipse owners are some of the worst offenders. What's the point of dumping all this cash into modifications when it won't significantly change the performance of your vehicle?
It's ironic that with all the money that these morons dump into modification, they could have saved up and bought a real sports car in a couple of years instead of pretending like they drive one now. It doesn't matter how big your fins are, it doesn't matter how cool your rims look, it doesn't matter how much noise your muffler makes. You still drive a shitty car.
The other day I pulled up next to some jackass in an intersection. He started to rev up his engine and roll back and forth. I turned my head towards him, glanced at his car, glanced at him, rolled my eyes and turned back to the road. This pissed off the driver and as soon as the light turned green, he went peeling off. Way to go jackass.
Why didn't I race him? Because I don't drive a sports car and I know it. I could pretend I drive a sports car, just like anyone else. I could put giant fins on my car and pretend it's a jet or whatever. Or I could quit pretending and just drive my damn car to work and school. Watching people race in Civics is like watching people race in minivans. I suppose the competition is there, but it's anti-climactic. It's a race where even if you win, you lose.
What's the point of having a fast car anyway? Is there some legal speed that they're trying to reach that they can't seem to do with normal cars? Even if your car can go more than 200 mph, you have to break the law (more often than not) to do so. Way to go dipshit, you spent your life savings on something you can't use. Worthless.

What's the feasability of living in a van for a couple years?
I apologize if this isn't the place for this, but it's kinda car and I have no idea where else to ask.
>>17188845
It's plenty doable if you don't have a ton of stuff. Hell, you could even live in a regular old car if you're not terribly claustrophobic. Get a gym membership for taking showers, mooch off Starbucks or McDonald's free wifi, and if your Walmart offers free parking, I don't think they'll mind you camping out there. Just make sure to shop there, move your car around, and if they give you hassle find another place.

Any idea how hard it is to wire solar panels up to the roof?
Or is that just a bad idea?
>>17188913
From a glance, it seems solar systems, including panels, charge controller, inverter, and batteries go for the better part of $1000, minimum. And in most places you can find a room for rent for cheaper than that.
You know the rules
>You need a car to get you 400 miles tomorrow
>You have 800 dollars (500 for the car and 3 to fix it)
>You have to be able to bike to where the car is so 20 miles or less
Gas isnt included dont worry about that
https://fresno.craigslist.org/cto/6119272610.html
Pretty cool
Easy. Good for another 200k miles.

I'm trying to find a car that I can get for 15k but I'm having trouble finding something that'll fun to drive.
>also cheapish fun practical cars thread

I test drove a 2017 Impreza sport two months ago, ended up buying a 2017 fiesta st instead. The subaru is nice inside but it felt slower than my last car that was 130hp fwd.

I own a FB and the car is a huge fuckin pain in the ass to work on, you have to follow a strict shitty schedule and even if you do it still breaks. It gets pathetic gas mileage. It burns oil. You can't bolt the engine to a stand without an adapter or rigging something up. The community is full of liars, retards and people who just can't accept their buyer's remorse and stop at nothing to defend it. Parts are expensive. You'll constantly have a nagging feeling that the car will break (because it will).
tl:dr the rotary meme is shit just test drive it to get your rotary kick then move on to something else, don't make the same mistake as me
