My story as a kid with Muslim parents
My parents are Muslims. My parents moved to Sweden (from Algeria) when I was 10 (1999) because my dad was doing his PhD there.

Both my parents lived short periods of their youth (university) in Scotland and Germany respectively and moved back to Algeria. They payed for their studies by working and with help of family. And then moved back to work, get married etc

Even tough my parents lived some time in non-Muslim countries they always had a pretty strong faith. Unlike me who since childhood found prayer to be boring. Thanks to Sweden though I got to live in a society where you were measured by merit and behaviour. Where mainly logic ruled. Instead of how devout I am.

I may not have picked up my parents religion but I definitely picked up their honour and responsibility toward their society. To never let oneself be a burden. To pay your dues and debts. To respect your neighbours. To study as far as I'm able : be a productive and proud member of this society has has been built by generations of great people.

I'm not perfect, I have gone through the teenage. Have my memories of stupid things I have done, regrets. I can say that I never molested anyone though. That I pay my taxes. I can say I never stole. Never hit anyone unless we both were shitfaced and stupid. I can say I never put my feet on the seat in front of me on the train...

Since end of 2014 I have been out of the country working on a project.

So ever since this immigration craze has started I have been gone. And it fucking horrifies me what's going on back home. My gf whom is either studying or visiting me, keeps telling em how shit is hitting the fan in Sweden and all the politicians are just following the trend of looking good by saying yes to immigrants.This is not ok.
