I watched them sometimes when they first came to my cable system, but not as much lately as in the beginning. They showed too many 30 minute or hourlong documentaries and not enough news. Not that the documentaries weren't necessarily well put together or newsworthy, but I was really hoping for more breaking news coverage and a channel that deviated from what the big three cable news networks were doing. Al jazeera wasn't that.

That said, they did offer some coverage of things nobody else would touch, which is sorely needed because of the big cable news channels' corporate sponsors, like oil spills, IP rights issues, and bank shenanigans.

tl;dr it was a disappointing channel but I'm still sorry to see it go.
