During a private talk to the Arizona Bankers Association last week, Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ) acknowledged that the ongoing circus created President Donald Trump and his administration—in particular, the president’s reckless tweets—is damaging her reelection prospects.

According to Tucson Weekly, which obtained a recording of McSally’s remarks thanks to a source in the room, the second-term congresswoman “complained that President Donald Trump and his tweets were creating troubling ‘distractions’ and ‘it’s basically being taken out on me. Any Republican member of Congress, you are going down with the ship.’”

“The environment has changed and some of it changed on January 20,” McSally continued, according to Tuscon Weekly. “There’s just an element out there that’s just, like, so against the president. Like they just can’t see straight. And all of a sudden on January 20, I’m like his twin sister to them. And I’m, like, responsible for everything he does, and tweets and says. And they want me to be spending my time as a pundit. ‘I disagree with that. I agree with this.’ I have a job in the legislature!”

McSally’s not-meant-for-public-consumption criticism of Trump is notable for how it differs from what Republicans continue to say about the president in public. There are indications, however, that her sentiments are shared by some of her colleagues in private. Publicly, Republican members of Congress mostly defended Trump and ran interference for him during and after the Comey hearing, but privately, Politico reported that a number of them “were absolutely shocked at how poorly yesterday went for the president.”

A sniper with Canada's elite special forces in Iraq has shattered the world record for the longest confirmed kill shot in military history at a staggering distance of 3,540 metres.

The Canadian Armed Forces confirmed Thursday that a member of Joint Task Force 2 made the record-breaking shot, killing an Islamic State insurgent during an operation in Iraq within the last month.

"The Canadian Special Operations Command can confirm that a member of Joint Task Force 2 successfully hit a target at 3,540 metres," the forces said in a statement. "For operational security reasons and to preserve the safety of our personnel and our Coalition partners we will not discuss precise details on when and how this incident took place."

The elite sniper was using a McMillan TAC-50 sniper rifle while firing from a high-rise during an operation that took place within the last month in Iraq. It took under 10 seconds to hit the target.

"The shot in question actually disrupted a Daesh [Islamic State] attack on Iraqi security forces," said a military source. "Instead of dropping a bomb that could potentially kill civilians in the area, it is a very precise application of force and because it was so far way, the bad guys didn't have a clue what was happening."

The military source said the JTF2 operation fell within the strictures of the government's advise and assist mission.

"As stated multiple times in the past, members of the Canadian Special Operations Task Force do not accompany leading combat elements, but enable the Iraqi security forces who are in a tough combat mission," the statement said. "This takes the form of advice in planning their operations and assistance to defeat Daesh through the use of coalition resources."

The kill was independently verified by video camera and other data, The Globe and Mail has learned.

"Hard data on this. It isn't an opinion. It isn't an approximation. There is a second location with eyes on with all the right equipment to capture exactly what the shot was," another military source said.

A military insider told The Globe: "This is an incredible feat. It is a world record that might never be equalled."

The world record was previously held by British sniper Craig Harrison, who shot a Taliban gunner with a 338 Lapua Magnum rifle from 2,475 metres away in 2009.

Previously, Canadian Corporal Rob Furlong had set the world record in 2002 at 2,430 metres when he gunned down an Afghan insurgent carrying an RPK machine gun during Operation Anaconda.

Weeks before, Canadian Master Cpl. Arron Perry briefly held the world's best sniper record after he fatally shot an insurgent at 2,310 metres during the same operation. Both soldiers were members of the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.

JTF2 special forces are primarily tasked with counterterrorism, sniper operations and hostage rescue. Much of the information about this elite organization is classified and not commented on by the government. The unit's snipers and members of Canadian Special Operations Regiment, who are carrying out the main task of training Kurdish forces, have been operating in tough conditions in Iraq.

The Trudeau government pulled CF-18 fighter jets out of Iraq in 2016 but expanded the military mission, which will see the number of Canadian special forces trainers climb to 207 from 69 in an assist, train and advise mission. Canadian commandos are not supposed to be involved in direct combat, but are authorized to go up to the front lines on training missions with Kurdish Peshmerga fighters and to paint targets for coalition air strikes.

For operational security reasons, sources would not reveal the names of the elite Canadian sniper and his partner, nor the location where the action took place.

A sniper and his observer partner are often sent to remote and dangerous locations to hunt down insurgents while having to carry heavy equipment. Once they have located the target, snipers follow the same methodical approach before each shot. Breathe in, out, in, out, find a natural pause and then squeeze the trigger.

Canada has a reputation among Western military forces for the quality of its snipers, despite the small size of the Canadian Armed Forces compared to the United States and Britain.

"Canada has a world-class sniper system. It is not just a sniper. They work in pairs. There is an observer," a military source said. "This is a skill set that only a very few people have."

The skill of the JTF2 sniper in taking down an insurgent at 3,540 metres required math skills, great eyesight, precision of ammunition and firearms, and superb training.

"It is at the distance where you have to account not just for the ballistics of the round, which change over time and distance, you have to adjust for wind, and the wind would be swirling," said a source with expertise in training Canadian special forces.

"You have to adjust for him firing from a higher location downward and as the round drops you have to account for that. And from that distance you actually have to account for the curvature of the Earth."

U.S. Sergeant Bryan Kremer has the longest confirmed sniper kill shot by a U.S. soldier. He killed an Iraqi insurgent with his Barrett M82A1 rifle at 2,300 metres in 2004.

During the course of Donald Trump’s overseas trip, we’ve pointed to several pieces of evidence that have surfaced which suggest his physical and mental health may be in sharp decline. He sounded winded during his speech in Saudi Arabia. He read the wrong words off his teleprompter. He canceled several events and meetings. Now there’s video evidence suggesting that something is wrong with Trump, period, during this trip.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump held a joint press conference in Israel this week, with both men sitting in chairs. But at some point, with the questions still coming in, Trump simply got up and wandered off in lackadaisical fashion with a blank look on his face. Netanyahu tried to reach out to Trump with his arm twice, in what might have been an attempt to get him to remain for photos or a handshake.

The media reacted in obsessive fashion when Hillary briefly appeared lightheaded during the campaign. Yet now that Trump has spent an entire overseas trip looking, sounding, and behaving like he’s on the verge of a total health collapse, the media is largely choosing to ignore it.

>Muslim girl Nabra Hassanen abducted and murdered ‘in hate crime’ on her way to mosque in Virginia

>Police in Virginia have charged a man with murder after a 17-year-old Muslim girl was abducted and beaten to death on her way to a mosque.

>Nabra Hassanen, 17, was on her way to prayers after breakfast yesterday when she was confronted by a man who drove past in a car.

>She was assaulted and became separated from her four friends, police said. She was believed to have tripped over her clothes before she was attacked.

>The other teenagers made it safely to the mosque where they notified the authorities and a search was launched for the girl. A body was later found in a pond near Ridgetop Circle in Sterling, about three miles from where the attack took place.

>The girls had been to a sleepover the previous night at an Islamic institution nearby.
>>
>Last night, police charged Darwin Torres, 22, with murder. A metal baseball bat was found near the body.

>Torres was arrested after he was seen driving suspiciously in the area while officers were still searching for Nabra. Police were investigating the possibility that the killing was a hate crime. In a statement, the All Dulles Area Muslim Society said: “We are devastated and heartbroken as our community undergoes and processes this traumatic event.”

>“Please pray for me, please pray for me,” Nabra’s mother, Sawsan Gazzar, told the Washington Post. “Pray for me that I can handle this ... I lost my daughter, my first reason for happiness. I think it had to do with the way she was dressed and the fact that she’s Muslim. Why would you kill a kid? What did my daughter do to deserve this?”

>Loudoun county sheriff Michael Chapman said: “I just can’t think of a worse instance to occur with the loss of a 17-year-old on Father’s Day. As a father of a 17-year-old myself, I can’t think of anything worse.”

Trendy Instagram moms are pioneering a new parenting trend – asking their babies for permission before picking them up.

Enterprising new parents claim to be expanding the boundaries of consent, even though their infants can’t talk and barely understand the world around them.

They claim that picking up babies without checking in with them first is an aspect of “rape culture” – and that raising them without involuntary lifting will make sure their sons don’t become rapists in later life.

The trend broke out of social media last week, when parent Nisha Moodley posted a selfie with her six-month-old son, Raven, describing her approach:

She claims she can “feel for his ‘yes'”, and that her parenting strategy will help #endrapeculture.

Others were more supportive, and said they do the same thing. Robin Weir, mother to a seven-month-old boy, wrote “We do this too… makes it feel more like we’re doing things ‘with’ him rather than ‘to’ him.”

More than 600 other users “liked” the post.

The breakout photo landed Moodley an interview with Yahoo! Beauty, where she expanded on the dangers of turning your offspring into a rapist by picking them up too eagerly.

She said: “I don’t ever want my son to be a sexual perpetrator or the victim of one, and the best thing I can do is honor his choices about his own body.

“I also want him to pay attention to his instincts, and forcing physical touch could interfere with that.”

However, even Moodley admits that there are exceptions to her rule, because, well, babies cry, and can’t talk or make their own decisions – which is why they need parents in the first place.

When asked on Instagram what she does if he starts crying, she replied: “I do what I need to do as a mama, first and foremost So if I need to pick him up, I do! Or I say ‘Oh, honey, I’m going to pick you up.'”

Indeed it has, if you can genuinely wish death on someone just because they have different ideas on parenting than you do.

The main concern that I have is that this could lead to a lack of parental authority, which could cause respect and entitlement issues. In other words, they could become someone who thinks the world revolves around them, like you.

What, you're saying they don't already? Kids at 8 and 9 years old already have tablets and smartphones. It's this new generation of parents that feel they didn't get enough as kids and have to give their own everything as some sort of social protest.

To believe Donald Trump, you must believe two largely contradictory things.

You must believe that there are a slew of leakers in the executive branch who are providing damning details to the press illegally, and who must be rooted out and punished.

You must also believe that the press makes up imaginary leakers simply to slowly and incrementally report false stories that are tangentially embarrassing to the president. The most recent examples of Trump making that case came on Sunday (“Whenever you see the words ‘sources say’ in the fake news media, and they don’t mention names,” he said on Twitter, “it is very possible that those sources don’t exist but are made up by fake news writers. #FakeNews is the enemy!”), but he’s been railing against this idea that some media sources are not real since the campaign.

The result is that we end up with a president who at 8:33 a.m. says that it’s his opinion “that many of the leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the #FakeNews media,” and then at 10:43 a.m. says that the prime minister of the United Kingdom was mad about information that was leaked.

Trump, unlike most politicians and, frankly, most people, will nonchalantly argue two logically inconsistent points at the same time. On the campaign trail, he mastered the art of vague assurance that he stood for whatever his audience stood for, and, in office, that skill doesn’t seem to have faded. If it is best that people think a leak was made up by the media — like The Post’s report that Jared Kushner asked Russia to help set up a secure communication system with the Trump team — then Trump will argue that the media made it up. (We didn’t.) If the leak is incidental to him or if he’d like to put the heat on someone else — if, say, someone in law enforcement leaks photos of a terror attack in the U.K. — he’ll argue that the leakers need to be caught.

As Trump knows, though, there are many reasons for someone to provide information without wanting to be identified. Trump himself used to call news outlets pretending to be his own publicist so that he could share details without revealing the source. And while Trump administration officials often speak on the record to the media, they nearly as often speak only on background as so-called “senior administration officials,” faceless voices praising Trump without being able to be held accountable for what they said. It happens so often that the abbreviation “SAO” is understood immediately by the press.

Here, for example, are a number of things that the White House has provided to the White House press corps using sources who refused to be named. (All quotes are from pool reports filed by members of the media.)

Jan. 28: About the immigration ban.

>The official said that Trump advisers had been in contact for many weeks with key State Department and Department of Homeland Security officials about Friday’s executive order. “Everyone who needed to know was informed,” the official said.

When the administration was forced to craft a second attempt at the ban a month after this, press secretary Sean Spicer told press that the first attempt was flawed by not having enough people in place to vet it.

>The official said green-card holders from one of the seven affected countries who are currently outside the United States will need a case by case waiver to return to the United States, according to the official. Those green-card holders in the United States will have to meet with a consular officer before leaving the country, the official said.
>>
Jan. 29: Immigration ban.

>The SAO said there was no “advance notice” of the order going out for clear reasons that he did not explicitly outline. “I think everybody here can use their imagination to imagine 25 reasons why that wouldn’t make sense from a security standpoint,” SAO said.

>The SAO said that “the guidance from the beginning” has been that legal permanent residents (LPRs) were exempt from the immigration EO, although there was some discussion about that in the room.

Notice that the comment about LPRs contradicts the statement from the previous day about green-card holders.

>SAO praised the implementation of the order as having been done “seamlessly” and with “extraordinary professionalism.”

A common thread: Praise for whatever the administration is doing.
>>
Feb. 14: On peace in the Middle East.

>The official said a possible meeting between the Israelis and Palestinians would be part of the discussions tomorrow. “He’s hopeful to bring the two sides together to discuss peace,” the official said of the president. How quickly would he like to get a Middle East peace process going? “I do think it’s a very high priority for the administration,” the official said, who would not be pinned down on timeline.

Feb. 24: A response to reports that the White House had tried to get intelligence officials to deny reports about FBI investigations.

>[FBI assistant director] Andrew McCabe said ‘I want you to know story in NYT (in FBI investigating contacts between Trump campaign people and Russian intel) is BS.’ (Some question whether he said bullshit or simply BS although officials best recollection is ‘bullsh-t.’) Preibus asked ‘what can we do about this?’ McCabe demurs and says he’ll get back to Preibus. Preibus’ can concern is he’s ‘getting crushed’ on the story. ‘What an I supposed to do?’

An unnamed official relaying a conversation held within the White House is the sort of thing that Trump in other contexts has harshly criticized.

Mar. 10: Conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

>President Trump has been “heartened” by what he has heard from Berlin about devoting more resources to the annual NATO military budget. POTUS intends to talk with Merkel about her government crafting a “concrete plan,” the senior official said. POTUS is “very interested” to get Merkel’s insights about working with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the senior official said.

As is an unnamed person offering insight into Trump’s conversations with foreign leaders.

SCATTERED ACROSS THE UNITED STATES are the remnants of a great battle that started over a century ago. Dozens of towns and cities joined the fray, duking it out for an honor like no other: to be the home of the largest chair in the world.

The first of these giant American seats was built in 1905 by the town of Gardner, Massachusetts. It was erected to showcase the town’s chair-making prowess and attract more tourists and furniture shoppers. Its title was eventually challenged, and the race really kicked into gear with the road transportation boom of the 1930s and after Guinness started recording incredible feats around the world in the 1950s.

Though the Guinness title was for the biggest chair in the world (determined by height—from the ground to the top of the back rest), the race particularly took hold in America, where the super-sized roadside attractions were a surefire way to catch the attention of drivers cruising by on the new highways that criss-crossed the country.

The mid-20th century saw the baton being passed around from chair to chair. Towns and businesses built taller and taller chairs with the express purpose of defeating the previous title holder by a foot or two. It was not enough to have a giant chair, it had to be the largest, and this became a point of local pride—not to mention a great tourism ploy.

The race eventually diversified into biggest chairs of different categories: There’s now an official Guinness designation for folding chairs, rocking chairs, Duncan Phyfe chairs, upholstered chairs, jiaoyi chairs, camping chairs, beach/deck chairs, and so on. (Not all of these have current title holders.)

But in recent years, many of the erstwhile American contenders for the throne have been bested by towering furniture creations in other countries, especially in Europe. The current Guinness record has been held for more than three years by a bright red chair in St. Florian, Austria.

It stands at a whopping 98.5 feet—more than 40 feet taller than the largest in the States, a 56-foot rocking chair in Casey, Illinois. Before that, the title was clinched by an 85-foot chair in Spain and a 65-foot chair in Italy, both in the early 2000s.

Despite America’s dethronement on the world stage, you can still see dozens of these once record-breaking and otherwise giant chairs at their original sites, with plaques celebrating their days of glory. Here are five places where you can spot these remarkably large seats on your next U.S. road trip.

Bicentennial Chair
Gardner, Massachusetts
Gardner has, for over a century, always had a giant chair on display. The current chair, measuring 20 feet and 6 inches tall, was constructed in 1976 for the city’s bicentennial. The mahogany chair briefly brought the world title back to the “Chair City,” though for the final time. The chair was afflicted with rot in the 1990s but was saved from destruction, and is still a local landmark.

Size: 20.6 feet, 3,000 pounds.

Big Things In a Small Town
Casey, Illinois
The honor of the largest chair on Earth may have slipped out of American hands, but the largest rocker still rules on in the Midwest. Casey, which has created a reputation for its “Big Things in a Small Town,” holds the current Guinness record for the world’s largest rocking chair (among several other world records). For the chair to claim the title, it had to be proven to actually rock, and it took 10 people to move the mammoth piece of furniture. At over 56 feet tall, the super-sized rocker is also the largest chair in the U.S.
>>
Size: 56.1 feet, 46,200 pounds.

Route 66 Rocker
Cuba, Missouri
When Casey’s record was awarded, it was bad news for another giant rocking chair, located off the iconic Route 66 in the town of Cuba. This one stands next to a Fanning Outpost complex with an archery range, a taxidermy shop, and a general store (with no apparent furniture connections). It was built in 2008 at a height of 42 feet, in order break the world record and drum up more traffic. It is only open for people to sit one day a year, known obviously as “Picture on Rocker Day.” A lift is hired to raise people up onto the seat.

Size: 42.1 feet, 27,500 pounds.

Largest Office Chair
Anniston, Alabama
In 1981, facing a crowded race for the world’s largest chair, the folks at Miller’s Office Furniture in Anniston made a strategic decision. They put up a giant version of one of their office chairs, super-sized by simply converting inches to feet, in an empty lot next to the showroom. At 33 feet tall, it was declared the world’s largest office chair by Guinness. After a brief move, the chair is now back to its original location, and its owners say it is there to stay.

Size: 33 feet, 20,000 pounds.

The Big Chair
Washington, D.C.
The Washington, D.C. furniture company Curtis Brothers Furniture built The Big Chair of Anacostia in 1959 to advertise the neighborhood business. Calling it the “World’s Largest Chair,” they also took the structure’s fame to the next level by getting a local artist to live on the chair for 42 straight days without ever coming down. The chair was originally made out of wood but after years of being battered by the elements, the monument became unstable and had to be deconstructed for repairs. It was rebuilt with aluminum so that the oversized piece would last for future generations to enjoy.

Size: 19.5 feet, 4,600 pounds.

>Newly released federal documents, obtained by PEOPLE, reveal the lengths YouTube singer Austin Jones allegedly went to in coaxing underage female fans to send him sexual videos of themselves.

>Jones, 24, allegedly solicited two 14-year-old fans — one last August and one in May — instructing them on what to wear, what to say and what to do in the videos deemed child pornography, the court documents state.

>The counts against him come approximately two years after he faced controversy online for allegedly similar behavior with female fans, which he dismissed at the time (and was not charged).

>The criminal complaint, filed Tuesday in Illinois federal court, alleges Jones “used Facebook and Apple’s iMessage service to request and receive videos depicting the genitalia of minor females, knowing that they were only 14 or 15 years old.”

>In the videos, which were sent through Facebook messenger, Jones allegedly told the victims to twerk — a kind of dancing — and expose their butts and repeat how old they were, in the course of which they also showed their genitals.

>“You need an intro to the video,” he allegedly told Victim A. “At the beginning, get super close and say these lines: hey Austin, it’s [name] and this butt is [age] years old and then make it clap for 30 seconds. Got it?”

>“Hey Austin, my name is [Victim A’s first name] and my butt is 14 years old,” she began one video, allegedly sent to Jones, before she danced against a wall, the complaint states.

>Jones allegedly knew the age of the victims and repeatedly discussed it with both of them in the course of instructing them on what to send him, according to the documents.

>The complaint shows that with Victim A, Jones allegedly described their interaction as an “opportunity” and a “try out” and referred to giving her videos a “score.”

>“Talk about your age the whole time,” he told her at one point, the complaint claims. “Got it?”

>“In your honest opinion, do you think your butt is good enough to give guys boners?” he allegedly asked the same victim before urging her to “try harder!!!”

>In another video, the victim repeats to Jones, “I’m only 14 years old…yeah only 14 years old.”

>In August 2016, Jones and another 14-year-old girl, Victim B, communicated through Facebook chat for two days, the complaint alleges. The pair talked about how young she was and how much she liked his music.

>According to the documents, Jones allegedly repeatedly told her that she was “so lucky” to have his attention and would have to “prove” how big of a fan she was.

>After one video, he allegedly responded, “in the next one, you have to prove you’re my biggest fan. I know you can do it!”

>“How amazing that would be for you!! To have your favorite singer spanking your a–!” he allegedly wrote to her at one point. “If you’re lucky, maybe I’d let you suck my d—.”

>During their two-day conversation, Victim B sent Jones approximately 25 videos of her dancing, the complaint states. In approximately eight of them, she is exposing herself from the waist-down.

>“Bounce again and smile at the camera while you bounce. And while you bounce, say ‘I’m only 14’ three times throughout the video,” Jones allegedly instructed the girl, who at times was hesitant.

>“If you really are my biggest fan, you would do it!”

>An Israeli company's software has been used to infiltrate mobile devices held by human rights lawyers, journalists and activists fighting government corruption in Mexico, according to a report published in the New York Times on Monday
>The highly-advanced software, known as Pegasus, is only sold to governments by the Israeli firm NSO Group on condition that the cyber technology be used in anti-terror or anti-criminal intelligence efforts. The company is known for its cyber expertise and according to the report, "charges $650,000 on top of a flat $500,000 installation fee," to spy on 10 iPhone holders. The NSO Group has also run operations under different names like OSY Technologies, which paid former U.S. national security adviser Michal Flynn over $40,000 as an advisory board member for nearly a year, until last January

Here's where it gets fun

>The targets include lawyers looking into the mass disappearance of 43 students, a highly respected academic who helped write anti-corruption legislation, two of Mexico’s most influential journalists and an American representing victims of sexual abuse by the police. The spying even swept up family members, including a teenage boy

How long before México goes into a civil war?

I don't know what to think. The so-called journalist Carlos Loret de Mola is a faggot slave for right politicians. The people now idolize the another journalist to the extreme to want her to be president.
The "serious" newspapers or mags are not reliable, they say poverty and other problems are caused by "errors" of government. The neoliberalism abuse and current laws are premeditated.

Wildlife investigators from India and Britain said Tuesday they have uncovered an international fraud in which dried penises of endangered monitor lizards are being sold as a plant root regarded as a good luck charm and used in religious rituals.

The London-based group World Animal Protection said the dried penises of Bengal monitor lizards and yellow monitor lizards look similar to a rare plant root sought by people who believe it brings good luck.

Wildlife authorities conducted raids in five Indian states last month and some raids are continuing, said Neil D'Cruze of WAP.

While the plant has all but disappeared from the Indian countryside, wildlife traffickers have been buying the dried lizard penises and fraudulently selling them online, said the Wildlife Trust of India in New Delhi.

The two lizard species are on India's list of endangered animals, said Jose Louies, who investigates wildlife crime control at WTI.

During raids in the eastern Indian state of Odisha, several dozen hemipenis, or paired male reproductive organs of the lizards, were recovered, he said.

"The dried lizard hemipenis looks like two hands joined in prayer and is similar to the "hatha jodi" root that people believe can ward off evil," Louies said. "There is a widespread belief that it saves you from court cases."

Scientists at Manchester Metropolitan University in England have confirmed that various specimens of the "magical" root were actually the dried hemipenis of monitor lizards, WAP said in a statement.

"These lizards are being illegally poached from the wild, caught in traps and snares. Some will have their throats slit or skulls smashed in before their genitals are removed," it said.

Wildlife activists said the volume of the item being sold online was huge.

"We were shocked at the sheer audacity and scale of the illegal wildlife trade," D'Cruze said. "Deceitful traders claiming to sell holy plant root labeled as 'hatha jodi' are in fact peddling dried lizard penis to their unwitting customers."

Tribal people in remote forests in central and eastern India used to hunt and eat the large-sized lizards, with most of them unaware that killing or possessing the animal is a crime punishable by seven years' imprisonment, said Aniruddha Mookerjee, a researcher who was part of the investigation.
