no such thing, every move in trials is technical and risky, the fact you did it 100 of timees does not make it less risky, you just feel more relaxed when doing it, that is all

Meh.

Compared to the terrain that Akrigg shreds, that video may as well have been shot on perfectly smooth pavement. Any shithead can doriftuuuu a corner through soft, groomed loam.

Damn, that's a really good ad, now I wan't that Crush frame. Is it just me or does it look really long (TT&DT), atleast compared to most hardtails (including my current bike). Also 650b.

Very artsy, it was a bit lackluster skill wise, it was just a beautiful ride down a scenic hill

I actually want Al, my current CrMo hardtail is heavy as fuck
>>
>>912206
>tfw you want to build up a Stylus but can't because finances

God, what I'd do to get out of my Al XC hardtail. The thing was great when I was starting out but now that 71 degree head angle and 100mm of travel just is killing me. Last summer was a BIG eye opener when I tried to ride more AM and DH oriented stuff. It was obviously not going to feel good on my bike but... It just really made me realize how geometry and even things like thru-axel thickness and tire volume count. Obviously going FS would be nice but... Fuck, I REALLY wanna send a Stylus and be comfy while doing it.
>>
>>912304
>Obviously going FS would be nice

to many drawbacks and it can feel less playfull and agile depending on the trail
>>
more cool hardtail riding lads

buy smth cheaper frame like on one 456, ragley
>>
>>912671

>it can feel less playfull and agile depending on the trail

Yeah, I've heard this echoed a ton.

I had the chance to compare my hardtail to an older Specialized Demo 7 last summer while riding a fairly technical downhill run; Two completely different bikes and the contrast was really neat. The only real reason why I'd say the hardtail was better was because I didn't require a shuttle to get to the top of the run, haha.

>>912901

I wouldn't be saving much money buying a Ragley but the 456 is definitely more cost effective. Only reason why I shy away from the 456 is because of the 1 1/8" head tube.
>>
>>912938
>The only real reason why I'd say the hardtail was better was because I didn't require a shuttle to get to the top of the run, haha.

well, to each its own, but its not just memes. riding singletrack, not too steep and not too fast trails not only isnt as interesting on a fully but often is faster on a hardtail since you can pump and pedal far better and the corners are much more rewarding
>>
>>912980

Oh, definitely not a meme and I understand and can relate to what you're getting at. Many of the popular trail networks near where I live hardly warrant rear suspension and yet they are full of FS rigs. The upside to my XC hardtail is that I can climb most of these trails with ease and don't have trouble bombing downhills because they're so well groomed and not too steep. I always try and be modest about my abilities, but I will say that I pass a shit load of riders on both the climbs and downhills using my entry level hardtail. Hell, that hardtail has probably taught me more in my three years of riding than an FS rig could have.

>Oh, definitely not a meme and I understand and can relate to what you're getting at. Many of the popular trail networks near where I live hardly warrant rear suspension and yet they are full of FS rigs.

yup, the thing with fullies is that they REALLY have to be setup correctly in order to ride well - entering corners or doing drops on a poorly set up suspension of a +100mm bike (or a rear suspension system you are nto familiar with) can be very dangerous. front suspension is much more straight forward workign than rear so it can pass even with a cheaper system... and I havent even mentioned bearing mainintence

The only thing i like about fullies is climbing, you can concentrate on pedaling and breathing and dont have to adjust position and lines constantly unlike hardtails when you have to watch for rear wheel slide outs on more technical uphills.

Im from Croatian (continental part) so trails are very flowy and a true shame not to ride on a hardtail (+pedal from the city to most of the trails) although for some parts of the country fully might be a better choice but in 90% of cases it is an overkill. I know so many people that started on a hardtail, when they got serious bought a AM fully, and then back to AM hardtail

I can hop higher not clipped in. 2-3Ft off the ground easily.
