this. i'd be (a tiny bit) surprised if your state flat out denied you a CDL with a record, but when i was working for a shipping company in high school (i wasn't driving, and i got the job through a friend) i had a chat with the CEO (friend's dad) and he mentioned that a DUI was a deal breaker. i think he even had a rule about moving violations in general (but i don't think it was as severe as the person being unhireable).
