What is the craziest car build you ever did as sleeper car?

I have a Fiat Seicento (2004)
Where I put a fiat punto 1.9 motor in for giggles.

It's my second car next to my jeep but I just love driving it because lightweight+power is just endless fun.

There is nothing greater than sitting next to a civic/golf rider at the stoplight and just watch them while you're shooting ahead of them.

Downside, highway while raining. The car becomes really hard to controle because it will handle aquaplanning really bad.

So what is your sleeper car/crazy build?

Sorry, I mistook the board.

OP is fag.

>What's a sleeper car? Do you sleep in this thing?

Sleeper car is a car that looks normal from the outside like an allday familycar.
But got a tuned engine or engine swap to make it fast/strong.

Have you ever tried doing a proper sprint with platform pedals of any kind? You're literally taking your life into your hands and being reckless with it. Have you ever even tried spinning >100rpm for extended periods of time with platform pedals? Same problem. Also: *exhausting* compared to clipless. Nope, sorry bub, platform pedals are for casuals. You're not going very far or very fast on them. Toe cages, straps, and clipless pedals were developed for a reason, and not so 'jew companies can steal your sheckles' or silly shit like that.

I'm fine with that, it's only oldfags that do that shit because that's what they were taught by their cager teachers/parents.
That shit is Not taught in Driver's Ed anymore, nor is it even on licensing tests.

Every bicycle advocacy group will instruct people to point with the hand that correlates with the direction in which they want to turn.

Go the fuck right ahead and do it faggot, you'll relieve some stress off of mother Earth and free up a job for whatever millennial that might be reading this thread.

Was amazed about how they came to define this pants-on-head retarded way of signalling in the first place. Will not use.

And you - plz remember to effing use your yellow disco lights (or make your brake lights disco if in burgerland) when planning to do a turn.

What does /n/ think about freeway removals?

I think it's great for cities and really makes everything better for everybody, even drivers.

Interesting article on the issue: http://gizmodo.com/6-freeway-removals-that-changed-their-cities-forever-1548314937

Here, from my home town of Oslo. If you change from 2009 to 2014 you can see the difference in the same place in the span of 5 years, and as you can see it looks a lot better after the freeway was removed. ;

>>

They're kind of a niche thing. Even high end folders don't really compare all that well to decent non-folding bicycles.

They're nice if you fly out to go touring a lot, or if you want to hop on and off mass transit etc. but that's about it. The only reason why I have a couple folders for touring is because S&S coupled bikes are 1- expensive and 2- still a pain in the ass to pack and unpack at your destination.

Anyone here built their own frame? Where is a good place to start learning?

Try PithyBikes on YT - this guy is amazing!
>>
Having seen how much goes into real framework, I wouldn't even attempt it. Leave it to those who know what they are doing.

I suppose if you wanted to learn you could ask for a job there and do some shadowing, but that's about it. It's a difficult skill.
>>
>>1028338

A friend of mine basically just took measurements and copied some old road bikes for his welding and machining classes. They ride pretty well desu.

Obviously a lot of this community have bought aluminium bikes with carbon forks and no eyelets for anything.
But this is /n/, not /asp/ !

I have added mudguards to mine and am currently debating between a large saddle bag or a frame bag. and have mounted one of my 2 locks to my frame.

How do you make these bikes practical?

Do you have any maps detailing neighboring and contained population centers/density? Then we'll be able to talk. It looks like it could use some rail service, just judging by the population density.

my girlfriend's bike got stolen so now I'm fixing up a heap of shit I got for free so she can ride it

pic very related: these things cost about $300 AUD brand new, replete with shit components including a 1" threaded fork, stem shifters, shimano's bottom-tier drivetrain, and buckled wheels. it's basically one rung above a department store bike.

anyway the standover height suits my girlfriend, the only thing is she's too casual for drop bars so I'm doing a flat bar conversion. there's an option for flat bars if you buy new but sadly I didn't have that luxury, so I went shopping.

here's what I got:

>a shitty steel flat bar
>NOS dia compe ss7 brake levers
>ODI pro grips
>new front brake pads (I heard the stock Tektro pads are trash)

so far I've spent about $80.

I can probably post some pictures as I progress, but for now I need some advice please:

the clamp bolt on the underside of the stem is rounded, someone definitely fucked around with it in the past and I can't get any purchase on it. I took the stem out of the steerer and it has gone pretty rusty and left a mess in there

do you think it's best to trash the stem and buy another?

if so, do you think I should just grab this one off ebay?

it's clearly hideous but it's cheap as fuck and the measurements are right, and it's alloy so I might even save some weight!
>>
>>1032299
Alloy will very easily seize in a steel frame making it a problem if she ever wants to sell it on or sit more upright or even get a better riding position.
>>
>>1032300
no no, it's an alloy frame, but the old stem is steel, sorry for the confusion

do you think it could still seize if I clean the residual rust out of the steerer? I didn't think of it

How do you fight cars, that blind you from behind with their dual-xenon front lights?

With the shorter days I keep running into people who drive very close behind me, while having their front lights facing up as high as they can. I am on speed limit + 3 to 5 km/h mostly.

It leads me to letting them pass whenever I can, but I want to stop being a cuck now.

How do you deal with those blinding lights?
