Do you guys prefer this one or...
...do you heathens like this one more?
Both piles of junk symbolise the sorry state of our railways.
They still exist purely as a result of greedy, idiotic, and corrupt companies allowed to form by stupid, short term thinking, and equally corrupt governments.
I cannot wait for the day old BR DMUs along with those damn Pacers are subjected to the cutters torch.

Do you have any favorite comfy travelling spots, /n/? Can be lounges, restaurants or just places in the facilities.
Mine is the downstairs area in Terminal 2 LHR, on the level of the airfield. No one there ever except for some employees having their lunch break there and you can watch a lot of vehicles and some planes making their way across the airport.
(Also as I often imagine terror attacks happening on my travels and let them play out in my head as a sort of thought simulation to keep me entertained, the spot is very safe and I have easy access to getting out of the building)

You do not know how relived I am to know I'm not the only person that does this.

The jet bridge and arrival level of HKG. Always feels good back home off the plane.
Unless it's the stupid Northern Satellite or Midfield Concourse.

I'm looking for front, rear, 360 degree, cameras for when I'm cycling. I basically want enough quality to capture license plates, at least 6 hour recording time, and to cover most angles if something happens. I think helmet mounted would be better because if I get separated from the bike and a situation unfolds I care more about me than the bike.
Any suggestions?
It's not really a rear camera if it is 360 degree

Have you considered just calming down and accepting that you can't really do shit about assholes in cars, and that your best plan is actually to ride defensively and avoid unnecessary situations where you might get in a conflict with a car, instead of planning on escalation and incidents?
Or, if you're such a chicken when it comes to riding traffic, picking a different hobby or limiting yourself to bike paths?

pic semi related
Post a rail-related building located where you live and a synopsis of it. It can be no longer service as long as it's preserved in such a way that it still looks like it was built for a railway.
Pic related is the Tarpon Springs Depot in Tarpon Springs, Florida. It was built by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad in 1909 to replace the city's original depot, which was built in 1888 (the year the track was built) and burned down in 1908. The last train operated on that line in 1987 and the right-of-way is now part of the Pinellas Trail for pedestrians and bikes.
>>1031793
One other depot on that same line is the Dunedin Depot in Dunedin, Florida 10 miles south. That one was built in 1924, also by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad after the original burned down (things seemed to burn a lot more back then). That last train trip in 1987 was between Tarpon Springs and Dunedin, probably because they were the only two cities on that line that still had their station buildings intact.
Small local train station. It's served by 17 local trains daily in each direction. Apart from this one there are another 7 train stations in this city. It's been a long time since I took a train from this particular station because it isn't exactly convenient for city transport. It's rather for commuters going out of the city, still the station is very quiet.

Yeah totally worth the few billion to make it. Government sure knows how to throw money in a pit.
What's the future of the transportation system, in your country and in general?
This book argue that while future cars will need to run on electric power, no battery can replace gasoline’s high energy density. Thus, they argue that for intercity travel, cars would be replaced by vehicles directly connected to the gird, like trams/streetcars or trolleybuses (for intracity travel, they propose would be done by high speed rail. Air travel would sadly decline except for certain intercontinental routes).
Does this sound plausible?
Yes it sounds plausible. Trains have only been around for ~200 years, cars for half that, it's not set in stone.
Cities could easily put in the infrastructure to host charging loops and have cars go from charge point to charge point with no batteries, only supercapacitors.
I hate air travel so DGAF about their demise.

>This book argue that while future cars will need to run on electric power, no battery can replace gasoline’s high energy density.
LOL no, that's never going to work. The amount of infrastructure you'd have to install to make it work would run into the trillions, and it wouldn't be practical or even feasible for it to reach everywhere it needs to reach. Necessity is the mother of invention; better battery technologies are being created even as we speak. I also personally suspect that the energy industry has been buying up new technologies and sitting on them, perhaps for decades, waiting for the right time to maximize their profits, after of course fossil fuels and other 'traditional' energy sources are played out, so they can maintain their dominance of the global energy market. People will always want personal vehicles, and personal vehicles will always need to be able to go anywhere, and under their own power. Therefore being tied to a public electric grid just isn't practical, except for mass transit in urban settings.
Now, here in the U.S., at least for the next 4 years, we'll be stuck with a loudmouthed fat lying asshole who, with the backing of the GOP, will try to turn back the clock 50 years and put us back into being dependent on fossil fuels, raping the land (even the national parks system I'm imagining) and screw the consequences to the environment. We'll have fatasses in their equally fatass SUVs that get 10mpg filling up 30 gallon tanks for $0.99 per gallon. Wouldn't at all be surprised if they abolish the use of catalytic converters and smog controls and bring back leaded gasoline, too. If you live here in the U.S., I'd worry more about the NEAR-TERM future of transportation (and everything else!) and less about the FAR-TERM future.

LOL without air travel we would still likely be living in little more than agrarian subsistence-farming societies with no high-tech.

"when" indeed... In your dreams perhaps?
We are already to far gone to be saved. The universe we inhabit is the one where we failed and everything ends up going to shit. It's not that bad though; it could be much worse but it is hopeless still to try and fix everything. Just ride it out and know that in some alternative universe it doesn't suck

Poorly. You could at least have gotten a cheap ass MicroShift, Shimergo or Shimano Claris brifter setup.
My fucking ass hurts so much, I feel like it isn't good because it's especially in my gooch area (between my asshole and balls) that gets numb! I don't want to break my penis.
I need a new saddle, something that won't pound my ass so hard. I'm not used to it. The trick is that it has to be like about $40 tops-ish.
This wasn't a problem because the most I would ride before was between 5 minutes to 40 minutes with a break in between but now I am doing an hour all at once and I feel like I'm putting my body at risk.
Please help, my boi pucci can't keep taking this abuse.
I like the Charge Spoon

Why do you like it? I don't like the name because it sounds like it's going to charge up my asshole and spoon it out.
$799 shipped. Is there a better mountain bike for the price than the Diamondback Mason?

Those fucking rims though

They are a little gaudy but tolerable I suppose.
I'm not sold on the whole 27.5+ thing but it is hard to argue against a bike with those specs for that money. Just ad a dropper and you are set.
