Anybody have a tips for removing a frozen
wedge nut from a tube ? Tried placing block
of wood on bolt & hammering down...no luck.
Currently letting it "soak" in some PB Blaster
hoping that it will loosen it up. Vintage late
to mid 80's frame..most likely some fusion has
taken place.
Tips ? Advice ?

>Tried placing block of wood on bolt & hammering down...no luck.
Have you tried it without the block of wood? Also, make sure to support directly against the tube under the fork crown or you will kill the fork. Use the stiffest support you can - like letting the fork straddle pic related. Try both solid and rubber mallets.
Often, just having a dead, stable support on the other side of the blow makes all the difference. It means the force is acting where you want if to act rather than compressing the block of wood or whatever you had.
>stable support on the other side of the blow >makes all the difference
Didn't even think of that;makes sense. Pipe
fence would be ideal but gaining access is
another thing. Thanks for the tips.

Naval Jelly to dissolve the rust.
Breakfree brand lubricant/protectant to help loosen it.
Heating the affected part with a heat gun (or blowtorch) to cause expansion of the metal, breaking the structure of the corrosion.
Going over to /diy/ and asking them.
Googling "remove rusted bolt" instead of asking a bunch of NEETs who hang out on a Japanese image board.

So some old guy sold me a bike and said that the rims on the wheels were compatible with both clinchers and tubulars. The rims are Mavic Module "E", which were apparently some kind of big deal in the 70's. I went ahead and replaced the tires he had on there with some Vittoria Rally tubulars. I'm now doing the research I should probably have done before taking his word for it and gluing tubulars to a rim for the first time in my entire life, but now it would appear he might not have been right about that. The glue job I did still appears pretty solid, but I don't want to die from using these tires, so I'm here to ask this:
Would gluing tubular tires to 27" clincher rims make the wheels unsafe to ride on if you actually managed to do it?

>Would gluing tubular tires to 27" clincher rims make the wheels unsafe to ride on if you actually managed to do it?
Yes. There is no way you have enough of a glued surface. The round profile of the tyre does not fit in the open box profile of the rim. Rip it off and get to washing that glue off before it's there for good. Tube glue is a bitch to remove.

I feel like an idiot right now... I'll do what you suggest. Thanks.
hey, i am on vacation in guadalajara and i need to get around the city via bus as there are too many slight inclines for me to pedal through as the city is slightly hilly and my knee hurts. there are buses that go everywhere but most buslines use old buses. ive only seen the newer bus lines on a few routes use bikeracks and the buses without bikeracks wont let me on. how do i go about researching which buses/buslines have bikeracks¿
i need help getting to the red dot. or at least as close as i can before i have to call a taxi
fucking no information online abut thheir fucking buses
i was able to find this page which i believe is the train rules for bikes
>Además, quienes así lo deseen, podrán abordar el tren con su bici, aunque eso sí, sólo en horario valle, es decir, de las 10 a las 13 horas de lunes a viernes, mientras que los sábados será de las 7 a las 10 horas por la mañana y de las 18 a las 21 horas por la tarde, y los domingos de 7 a 17 horas
>In addition, those who so wish, can board the train with their bike, although that, only in the valley, that is, from 10 to 13 hours from Monday to Friday, while Saturdays will be from 7 to 10 Hours in the morning and 18 to 21 hours in the afternoon, and on Sundays from 7 to 17 hours
so i can only use the fucking train during a 3hour time window_ what the fuck
well i guess ill be bringing a fucking wrench and taking my wheels off everytime i want to ride a fucking bus, fuck you mexico
From The Sun's article on this (https://www.t hesun.co.uk/news/3648218/woman-marries-train-station-sante-fe/)
A Californian woman has “married” a train station called Daidra after spending 36 years in love with it.
>Carol Santa Fe, 45, from San Diego, California, claims she has been in besotted with Santa Fe train station since she was nine years old.
>The volunteer support worker takes a 45 minute bus ride to the station every day to spend quality time with her beloved building.
>Although their marriage is not legally binding, Carol states they tied the knot in 2015 – and celebrated their one year anniversary last Christmas.
>Carol says she has “sex” with the building mentally and identifies herself as an objectum sexual – a person who is sexually attracted to inanimate objects and structures.
>Carol didn’t discover this until she was 40 after she searched online “I am in love with a building”.
She said: “I am married to the Santa Fe train station – her name is Daidra.”
“We didn’t start a relationship until 2011 but I had been in love with the station since I was a young girl.
“When we got married, I stood there and I told her that I take it as my partner.
“It was the happiest day of our lives.
“When I get there I say hello to her – I then walk around the block circling around her, trying not to let anyone notice I am talking.”
>She said she will often find a private section of the station which she will touch by leaning against it – although she keeps her clothes on.
“When I’m touching her, I feel as though it actually holds me and kisses me,” she said.
“I don’t have physical sex with the station in public, I want to be respectful.
“I wouldn’t do that with a human in public so why would I do it in this case.
“I do have sex with Daidra in my mind when I stand there.
“I especially like when I hear the trains rev up their engines – it turns me on.”
Is she, dare I say it.. /ourgirl/?

What's with all the bike threads?

Trains, planes, buses, trolleys, trucks, ships -- these are all BORING and STUPID and all you do is YAK YAK YAK about them, you don't actually DO anything. Bikes on the other hand are exciting and active and interesting; they're something you actually DO and can OWN yourself. You should get a bike today.

As of right now on the first page there are:
7 bike threads
3 plane threads
5 train threads (including this one)
So I don't see what you're so worried about.
>There are 3 cities: A, B, C
>There are two flights: x from A to B and y from B to C.
>Flying from A to C through B is actually cheaper than flying from B to C, even though they both use exactly the same flight y
Can anyone explain?
You have to think of it as flying from A to C and flying from B to C. Almost always, when flying from B to C is more expensive than the former it's because nonstop demand is much higher.
You'll see this a lot in very highly connective markets on the other hand where demand for the nonstop might not be crazy high (look at a lot of UA flights from EWR to small outstations). They are driving mostly connections so they just put a premium on the flight knowing that anyone who's inflexible will pony up.
