Yep. Valid criticism. I think we all have bands that we like that are like that.
I like the doors

What do you like about the pop group?
Why do YOU think since I left you is highly regarded?
Do you not like more than fifty artists?

Villain Accelerate - Maid of Gold
Jega - Geometry
Reach The Rock: Original Movie Soundtrack
Irrlicht is fucking hypnotic
The Books - The Lemon of Pink
Unknown Mortal Orchestra - II
No, what album would you recommend?
I can't find any of my recs from the archive. I think I told you Fish and Roses. Do you remember that?
Holy shit, that's weird. X sounded exactly like Tangerine Dream. This sounds somewhat different.
I grew up in DC in the 90's so I'm going to recommend things like
Any of that you haven't heard?
i might not know much, but i love these records all the same
Yea, you rec'd me them, yet to check em out.
Just go with their first album then make your way through their discog from there.
Burzum - Filosofem
Bardo Pond - Bufo Alvarius Amen, 29:15
Thanks, I'll check em out
Bardo Pond - Amanita
Les Rallizes Denudes - '77 Live
I've heard of The Cranium (A New Music for a New Kitchen has been hidden in my computer's library for years, mostly because of the Buzzcocks pun), and I think I might've heard a Circus Lupus track on a Dischord compilation once, but this list makes me want to check out all these groups.
I grew up just outside of DC, so I felt a pseudo-affinity to all the post-hardcore groups that came out of the city as I slept in the suburbs
ah hell, accidentally gave two recommendations to two different people, didn't mean to ask you about Unwound. But you'd probably like the Remko Scha record; it has a very alluring approach to minimalism for someone who is into The Ascension.
I was Arlington, but I claimed DC. Listen to the first Circus Lupus. The Mark E. Smith fan in you won't be disappointed. Unfortunately never got to see any of those bands live.
Antarctica - 81:03 (ex-Christie FD)
Canyon - Empty Rooms (ex-Boy's Life)
emo dream is dead, but the embers burned for a while.
Comus - First Utterance
White Noise - An Electric Storm
Fog - Ether Teeth
Glenn Branca - The Ascension
I like you. Don't know what to rec though.
Name of the 4th album?
Also nice taste.
I came from Waldorf, was a bit harder to make all the shows I wanted to without a car, but whenever I could, I'd take the metro to go to record store and pick up tons of Dischord releases. I'll go look for a Circus Lupus record now though. You ever get the chance to see Black Eyes?
Nah, I wasn't really into Black Eyes. I was telling >>62054136 the other night that I saw the band Jacob Long was in before Black Eyes called (the last) thirty seconds (of) and they were fucking incredible. It's a shame they weren't around long enough to record anything.
I tried but it isnt working for shit. Thanks for the tip though. If you ever get to burning the discs, could you drop them in a share thread? I'll find them in the archives.
Really nice, actually. Massive props for having Heat Death and Yank Crime in your top 10. Close to the Edge and Kill Taker too, although I do prefer both Red Medicine and Repeater.
Is that you Piero?
Turns out I don't even have the Canyon record anymore. Didn't survive a purge. You could consider, you know, spending money on music.
Stuff I've been listening to recently. Any recs appreciated
Discipline - King Crimson
Welcome to Sky Valley - Kyuss
Can anyone rec me some hip hop albums? I'm at the point where I've listened to all the essentials and dug a bit further (rhymesayers entertainment and high focus records are two lesser known labels I love). I could list a lot more albums but didn't feel like making a top 100 so I'm probably missing a few that should be on there. Apologies for not reccing other people, I usually do, just going to go to bed and refresh in the morning. Cheers.
John Smith - Blunderbus
Peanuts & Corn - Factory Seconds
The Reavers - Terror Firma
Mr. Lif - I, Phantom
mcenroe - disenfranchised
Oddjobs - Absorbing Playtime
Bigg Jus - Poor People's Day
Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent By Design
I gave you stuff that focuses on lyricism and intelligent concepts, mainly straight-forward production and not a lot of thug-speak (except JMT, which is exceptional).
I have some other stuff that focuses on experimental or atmospheric production with the lyrics acting more like a (vital) instrument of the music. If you want to hear some of that let me know. Shit, you should listen to Villain Accelerate (instrumentals) because its fucking awesome.
I stopped listening to new hip hop awhile ago for the most part so this is a snapshot of a few years, but I still think they still hold up today. I'm not sure why I stopped, I guess the art just isn't in my blood the way other art forms are.
i started making one and got burnt out, i can definitely fill this but man some artists repeat a bit too much, i 'feel' like ive got a varied taste hmm
any recs welcome
In desperate need of recs here guys...
