mbdtf had stellar beats and imo I think Kanye lyrically was on it. The features were for the most part amazing. I cant stress how awesome the beats were. the samples were pretty diverse in terms of genres which was really cool. I just think the fact that it was a come back album also elevates its status as. SWISH hasn't impressed me yet. Time will tell.
i literally have no idea
it's not that i dont like the released songs but they have such a different vibe to them that i have a hard time seeing them coming together in a cohesive album
>Yeezus sucked cock
no, it's easily his best release
>are you high?
not yet friendo :^)
but yeezus isn't much of a weed album it is a lot better when you're drunk as fuck screaming the lyrics to bound 2 with friends
This is what I hope will happen:
Also deep lore pic. Nina Chop, among others, on whiteboard and this pic was from 2014.
no i don't
i haven't listened to travis scott but i do know that yeezus is the best of kanye's releases
the height of music is Spirit They're Gone Spirit They've Vanished and Spiderland if you ask me
never made a good album
mbdtf was only slightly above average at 5.575/10
the fact that it's hailed as some legendary masterpiece says more about the state of rap as a genre than it does about kanyes merit as an artist
Yeezus is more "exciting" in the sense that a fucking seizure is "exciting" - a lot of energy in the act but there's little rhyme or reason and you're left kinda wondering "Is this dude alright?". I listened to Yeezus 3 times and had no idea what the fuck he was going for with it, but he was doing something alright.
This was the album cover for 'so help me god', from eight months ago. Album title has changed and lead single that was linked to that cover - all day - isn't even on the album. Odds are the actual cover will be different. Possibly a picture of Kim's cunt with the word swish written above it.
what i dont understand is he changed so help god to swish because he didn't think the album would live up to the name
but now that he thinks its the greatest album of life why doesn't he change it back to so help me god
>Kanye gave four five second to Rihanna
>Piss on your grave to Travis Scott
>Tell your friends to The Weeknd
>and a gorillion other beats to Pusha T
what the fuck Kanye
To be fair though he said that he basically was just making something where he did whatever the fuck he felt like. The lyrics reference his marriage and pregnant wife which were probably the main thing in his life at the time and Yeezus is kind of like Kanye venting. One thing about Kanye is he always says what his albums are supposed to be and they're always exactly that.
Everyone shut the fuck up, Kanye just updated the tracklist.
i don't remember if boring was the exact word he used but he definitely said that he thinks yeezus and 808s are much more interesting compared to MBDTF which is much more structured, listenable, and "objectively" good. He (obviously) doesn't think it's bad. I think he said this during the Oxford lecture.
yeah, but that was in hindsight. he said it would be amazing beforehand, which it is. it's natural for artists to change their opinions on their work after the fact, but i think his gut feelings as he's finishing off waves are a good measure of what to expect.
yeah I agree. I'm just pointing out the Kanye has an uncanny ability to judge exactly how his album is going to be perceived and every album is always exactly like what he said it will be. That's why i'm so excited for WAVES because when he said it's the best album of all time I don't even feel like he's being egotistical, I genuinely feel like it's gonna be fucking amazing.
