I actually tried to like Acid Rap at a close friend's behest, and honestly it felt so okay that I couldn't get invested. "Drug" rap is just painfully bland an uninspired to me.
>>62021904
I thought /mu/ universally accepted Arctic Monkey's early work, their first two albums in particular? I always liked the whole nonsensical britpunk thing.
>>62021928
I see how the drug talk can be very bland, but to those who have struggled with abuse/addiction in their young years Chance's music can hit home. Acid Rap imo was great except favorite song which is a garbage song desu
>>62021953
agreed but Humbug was imo the best arctic monkeys album, the songwriting was brilliant and they nailed the garage/psych sound very well, yet /mu/ seems to shit all over it.
>>62021962
That's what my friend told me, and I had (and still sort of have) a drinking problem. Just never sung to me.
It wasn't as bad as Pretentious Gambino, but it definitely didn't hit any high notes with me.
idk, people trash on it and say it's "random" my dad introduced me to it a while back and it has always been a favorite of mine.
>>62022017
Humbug was fun, /mu/ can get bent with that one.
>>62022017
>yet /mu/ seems to shit all over it
No newfag. It's the most popular Arctic Monkeys album on /mu/. My personal favourite is YFWN
>>62022084
I always saw this as the single most hit or miss album ever created. There's no in between with opinions on it, it's straight up love or hate.
>>62021904
>>62021953
Lady, where has your love gone?
It was the anti-septic to the sore
To hold you by the hand
Must be first, be in demand
How he longs for you to long for him once more
Just once more
===
they were fantastic at one point, weren't they?
>>62021928
yeah, not liking Chance is patrician. He's as disingenuous as they come.
>>62022178
I get that. Still not as unironically pretentious Childish Gambino. "Because the Internet" is one of the most laughably cringe-worthy album titles I've ever heard, and this isn't even mentioning the screenplay that came with the albums.
>>62022270
Lmao for real, a 30 year old man should not name his album "because the internet."
>>62022178
meme rap is a bad genre but I've always felt that if someone was going to like meme rap it should be chance. Chance is at least an authentic and honest musician who puts on great live shows, rather than just creating garbage meant to be spammed on internet blogs by 14 year olds, even if that is what happens to his music anyway.
>>62022391
He's 30? Well split my cock and call me Caitilin, that makes it so much funnier.
>>62022407
His Nosaj Thing collab took me by surprise.
>Countdown Machine- The Strokes
>That's The Spirit- Bring Me The Horizon
>Friendly Fires- Friendly Fires
>>62022084
anyone with taste knows it's an amazing album don't worry anon
People just get mad that they don't get it because they go from listening to something easy to...well, you know how it sounds. They don't even try to listen to the delta blues or anything prior to get the deconstruction going on

It's not that I give a shit, I like the music I liek whatever assholes on internet say, it's just I feel like /mu/ has transitioned from a place to dicuss music to a place to shit on people who want to discuss music while stroking your hipster boner. knowwhatimeanman
>>62023758
stop egging it on, fucktard
>>62024019
I'm with you 100% anon. I feel like posting here comes from a place of wanting your opinions to be reinforced, met with other, similar opinions. But instead it's constant fucking criticism by people who just, plainly, /dont get it/
