While /mu/core carries the risk of indoctrinating people into a certain mode of listening and limiting exploration, it also fills a function as a base level for people new to music to facilitate discussion. In order to discuss something productively, all parties need some sort of common background.
It's like if you want to discuss philosophy, you're expected to have read certain works like Plato.

I honestly don't feel compelled to listen to some of these albums. /mu/ has a lot more to offer than what's presented on this chart and I think condensing it to just 15 albums doesn't do the board justice. Honestly, if these were all then /mu/ would be absolutely awful.
