what the fuck is this cover supposed to be anyway?
Post albums from a time when Power Metal was worth a damn
hey /metal/ this is my 5x5 chart demonstrating what i've
been listeing to these past 7 days
this is my 5x5 chart demonstrating what I've been listening to past the last 365 days
10/10 chart btw, i really really like you are tastes
>people just don't have the time for music anymore
what did he mean by this?
>tfw destroying your life (or rather letting it fall apart) just to see that you can
>tfw it gives a semblance of control that you don't feel normally
metal for this feel?
+Summoning, Babymetal, Satanic Warmaster, Goatmoon, Dissection, Cosmic Church
Excellent taste to be quite honest with you senpai
+Napalm Death, Twilight Force, Blind Guardian, Vektor
+Rainbow, Dio-era Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Judas Priest
~Saint Vitus, Cirith Ungol
What are your favorite metal albums for winter/blizzards/snowstorms/etc.?
I listen to vacuum cleaners for an hour
Taake - Nattestid..
Summoning - Let Mortal Heroes Sing You Senpai
Satanic Warmaster - Fimbulwinter
mostly listen to gothy post-punk stuff in winter becasue i'm a sad miserable pile of shit though
>fucking around on that one website
so is oderus canonically the most powerful metal musician
I will say that the problem here isn't metal. Just like when they say that such and such culture is misogynistic, the literary world is misogynistic, the world of film or whatever.
It's always because people are sexist; both genders towards each other and themselves. That's how it's always been, that's how it;ll always be
usual thin end of the wedge
>who's saying censorship, I just want to start a dialogue lol
>but as soon as I attract enough likeminded whiny cunts the hegemonising swarm will descend and start controlling promoters through their wallets
>listening to this while running
>uplifting as fuck
>pull over a bridge
>look at the green pastures
>looking looking at the cars passing below me
>riff goes by
this shit is transcendental senpaitachi
Contributing to the trippy death metal feel since no one's posting anything trippy
Also the album Primordial Dominion by Skeleton of God
fucking devils coming to my house and ripping ass
it's time for monkey man to shine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l7YHY0Fp6I
thankfully the kind of shitheels that enjoy rape fantasies are already kept at arms length by women and increasingly by other men. it's really only a matter of time before people who use the word cuck are 100% isolated and not fucking tolerated and i'll stay doing my best to hasten that process
>Djent is pretty cool
>Dream Theaters new album might be good.
Dio and Rainbow are both boring as hell.
Power metal is fine but symphonic power metal is over the top.
Symphonic death metal mostly sucks.
Fuck it, almost symphonic any metal sucks.
nuclear have some decent butt metal bands plus ROTN which is also decent so i'll go with that
Napalm Records should take a hint from their name and douse their bands in napalm though
There's a correlation between the increasing numbers of absent/deadbeat fathers and the increasing numbers of gays.
Of course, correlation doesn't equal causation but it's pretty suspicious
he doesn't know i'm gay, and I'm really more bi, this is recent. pretty sure just normal internet degeneracy
he fucking drove my mom to a different country
my little sisters a fucking trainwreck
he once abandoned me in a park
then 2 years ago he suddenly does this heel/face turn and tries to be buddy buddy with me
there's also a correlation between the number of older brothers and the youngers being gay
Probably going to catch this? Anyone else?
Just got done listening to pic related, God was it awful. The band members might be skilled in their respective instrument but they couldn't write something captivating to save their life. They just shuffle through fitting in as many segments from different genres as they can (progressive rock, jazz, djent, death metal, symphonic rock, neoclassical, folk) but aren't able to make any part of it worth a damn. The band obviously knew that they couldn't make anything interesting in one genre, so by fitting in as many as possible they hoped that they could piece together something cool, instead they just created a Frankenstein of ideas that didn't mesh well. For something so focused on forcing uniqueness it was pretty tame, nothing about it felt experimental or avant-garde, whatever musical style they attempted to mix in here they made sure to play it safe resulting in a rock opera migrain of mediocrity. At least BTBAM were unpredictable in their assault of throwing in shit haphazardly, with this you can tell when a song is going to shift even if it's your first time listening, after two tracks it becomes formulaic and generic despite how weird the band tries to be. The only thing worse are the climaxes to their songs, as if strumming power chords and making your vocals louder while a keyboard symphony played in the background is supposed to evoke a feeling of epicness, nowhere is this more evident than on the self-indulgent 13 minute final track. Fuck this album, everything wrong with modern prog can be found here.
The Indonesian BDM scene is based
Some of the releases i heard are more recommendable to noise fans than BDM fans though, since the production makes it impossible to actually listen to the music but it does make some potentially interesting textures.
completely agreed, goddamn that record is awful
dude, just stop
>>djent band with pastel colors
it's pretty good
Bookburner is easily their blandest, and yes it has great lyrics, but it's Pig Destroyer so they don't get extra credits for that anymore (specially considering that i find the lyrics way inferior to anything on Prowler or Terrifyer, both the prose and themes singed about are superior
that's just my own meaningless opinion
honestly for the life of me I cannot listen to metal during cardio. I usually go with mashup, something like girltalk. I think how it is basically add set to music helps
but lifting music is for me is generally grind, brutal death, some war metal
uplifting to me is probably Lykathea Aflame (new to it and already 9/10) although i used to listen to some electronic music
once tried listening to Iperyt while running, awful idea
yeah that's probably my favorite song on the album
and yeah he's at it's best when he's screaming about women, no question about it
YOU DESERVE EVERYTHING
Hello /metal/, I've got a new meme for you, these guys are 100% serious
>japanese power metal band
>they're all dressed like anime characters
>their album covers are anime
>every fucking single band
WORSHIP THE SSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNN
Step aside, cookie monster vocals peasants
RYM's best Funeral Doom albums.
Is this an alright list?
This is probably the edgiest weeb jap band I've ever listened to, what the fuck
i-is that a naked demon loli on that album cover
Seems accurate, Skepticism and Esoteric are GOAT, SoD are great, Ahab and Mournful Congregation are a bit overrated, never heard Evoken, disappointed Thergothon isn't higher though
The only thing I've listened to from the genre other than stuff like sunn (if that counts) is Ahab - Call of the Wretched Sea, and I enjoyed it a lot.
What should i listen to next?
is chongchongland the only place that gets symphonic metal right? Listening to this makes me want to get my anus fisted by a man (in a good way of course), european and american symphonic metal makes me want to get my anus fisted in a bad way.
Spectrum Of Death is a bit overrated.
Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good is the most underrated of the first four Megadeth albums, not So Far, So Good... So What, which happens to be the worst (Still a great album tho).
Master Of Puppets>Kill 'em All>Ride The Lightning>... And Justice For All.
Best of the """""Teutonic Big Four"""""" is Tankard.
Most J-metal is shit, Japan can pump out some great shit but their obsession with trying to be as unique as possible can really fuck them over, especially in a no bullshit genre like metal
Lately I've actually listened to the whole ROTN album welcame and I must say... It's actually brilliant.
I don't have much experience in hardcore music but I must say it achieves a perfect blend between hardcore music and catchy tunes.
These days ROTN takes a special place in my playlist as music, almost on tier with normalfaggotry that just makes me want to jump and overall makes me feel good. I still listen to atmoshit and other metal but ROTN is just so fucking catchy I'm starting to understand people that listen to pop.
If you guys know anything similar and better than this I'd gladly listen to it.
I just want to say 0:31 is the pinnacle of jump-da-fuck-up riffs
The way lord worm goes "YEAH" it's like even he dropped his mental patient act to get down to those sweet grooves, the drums man, the drums, If you ever jump-da-fuck-up'd to this riff your life is complete
I am gonna be spamming this thread with some soviet metal now. Let's start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHddcJcRrVk
Galaxy - "I am Metal"
Now some really good and quite rare stuff here - dark, malicious, pounding Metal w/ female vocals. A top-10 CCCP-Metal anthem.
post fun brutal death metal albums that arent wigger slam or cryptopsy wankfests
This is pretty good but I think you didnt understand my point with ROTN. The music wants you to headbang but there's no pure catchy aggression that makes you want to fuck shit up like in ROTN.
Compare it to something like this:
The huge choruses that make you want to mosh and sing along make a big part of the band, just like in pop music or pop rock like BMTH.
this, metal-archives' staff is surprisingly weeb. Morrigan and Hellblazer are closet weebs, and a bunch of their admins and janitors are weebs if you google their usernames and look up info.
metal-archives is literally run by trve kvlt elitist weeaboos.
Touhou is a shitty indie game that for some reason spawned the biggest OC movement ever.
It's like the biggest meme ever born. You can find anything touhou. From metal through porn, anime, vidego games to pop and it's all made by fans. The original author just draws shitty art and makes decent shmups.
>trve kvlt elitist weeaboos
absolutely disgusting, if there are things that shouldn't go together then those are pretty much top of the list
unless it's like shitty 80s/90s anime, those are pretty kvlt when you think about them
i know what touhou is i just have no clue how this fanbase got that fucking big, seriously, i don't
Imagine UN Squadron or something having that much fucking buzz around it
>i know what touhou is i just have no clue how this fanbase got that fucking big, seriously, i don't
Nobody does. I guess the best explanation is just japan being japan. They're really obsessive about shit. After a while I guess it turned into a marketing thing for the authors because "why make own shit when I can capitalize on touhou fanbase". Your average metal album will be 2x more popular when it's about the huge touhou craze than just another album.
no, ZUN is just a very good songwriter and his songs translate themselves to metal well because of the neoclassical and prog rock influence. and the nerd audience overlaps with the VK/J-power fanbase
Cute girls doing cute things and metal go hand in hand baka
>metal has skeletons
>animu has skeletons
match made in heaven
Well I think Kreator is the best of the bunch. The only Sodom album I like is pic related but I like it a lot. The only Destruction album I think is good is Eternal Devastation but the production and singing could be a lot better. Never liked Tankard at all.
