I think Kanye felt pressured to return to his old style, despite the fact that his music changed for the better. Despite what any snapback wearers might think, Yeezus was critically acclaimed just like all his other albums. 808s probably got shafted the most, and it's arguably his best album. Really demonstrates his ability as a songwriter and pop star. Fuck this "real hip-hop" shit.

Sorry, let me give you some actual opinions so I can foster a calm discussion between us.

Say You Will - great opener. The choir sings some fantastic chords, Kanye has a cool melody, and the instrumental is sparse yet effective in conveying a gloomy atmosphere.
Welcome to Heartbreak - one of the weakest tracks on the album. I like Kanye's hook ("I've seen it before"), but not Cudi's.
Heartless - I like the instrumental, midi flutes and all, and the melodies from Kanye. Great hook.
Amazing - AMAZING drums. Great verses and hook. Jeezy's lyrics are good, but his voice doesn't suit the best very well imo. Very empowering song, yet still sounds a bit hopeless; Almost like Kanye's just trying to pump himself up for a fight he's going to lose.
Paranoid - great 1980s vibe on this song. Mr. Hudson's vocals on the chorus are great, and so is the instrumental. Love drums and happy synth chords, as well as the lyrics. Definitely the most danceable song here.

Love Lockdown - fantastic drums yet again. The way the different elements of the beat come in is pure genius-- starting with that deep bassline, joined by piano chords, then joined by the drums. I like Ye's lyrics & melody, also.
Street Lights - I used to skip this track within 10 seconds every time, but then one day I listened to the entire thing. Halfway through, a beautiful choir joins in, as well as some other male singer (sounds kinda like Charlie Wilson, but I'm sure it's not him). They really make the song sound more emotionally impactful.
Bad News - Kanye's part is pretty damn short here, but it's really good. The piano and his own voice grow more intense at one point, which I play back over and over again. After Kanye's part, some sweet violins repeat his melody. Drums are great yet again.

Seriously, whoever programmed the drums on this album deserves recognition.

I disagree with Amazing, I do like the song all the way up to Jeezy's verse which completly ruins it for me. All in all I don't hate 808's but I hate auto-tune and the amount of autotune used ruined the album for me. There are some great songs on there though.
