The Gift is the best track to be honest

>AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
It's overlong, it holds up so poorly to repeated listens and the instrumental is boring af. It takes up almost a quarter of the albums running time and it borderline ruins it outright. It and Murder Mystery are the only songs I actually skip on albums I otherwise enjoy.
Agreed. But listening to it through headphones makes it the worst song on the album
>>61997016
Why did they add that skull tattoo to the cover? Looks so stupid.
>>61997300
Because your mom is actually a man
>>61997294
>>61997294
what a fucking pleb
>>61997299
sometimes i just listen through one side, to the instrumental or john cale awkwardly reading the lyrics
>>61997233
love that part so much.
>tfw waldo jefferson
>>61997016
Marsha you ignorant slut
>>61997634
>sometimes i just listen through one side, to the instrumental or john cale awkwardly reading the lyrics
I'm pretty sure they designed it that way but I do the same thing
>>61998643
lol
Sister Ray and lady Godiva's operation > The Gift IMO.
Possibly one of the worst songs of all time. This is a fantastic album but The Gift is bad beyond justification. I have never in my life seen anybody provide a case for it being anything other than a piece of shit.
>>61997294
>skipping murder mystery
It's funny because it used to be that the measure of a VU fan could be measured by how many of the lyrics they knew of Murder Mystery
>>62001173
every song in the album is goat kill yourself
Heard her call my name is the finest demonstration of the electric guitar I have ever heard.
No troll
>>62001726
Why would anyone think you're trolling? That song makes every single "top guitar solos" list.
>>62001750
>trolled hard
john cale's accent on that track sounds incredibly indian to me for some reason
>>62002150
he sounds potato to me desu
>>61997294
>skipping the only good song on s/t
This is a new kind of pleb
Lady Godiva's Operation > Here She Comes Now > The Gift > I Heard Her Call My Name > Sister Ray > White Light/White Heat
>>61997294
>skipping Murder Mystery
>>62002420
>Lady Godiva
SWEETLY is one of the greatest moments ever in rock and roll.
>>62002544
really? I hate how awkward his chiming in sounds, it's still my favourite off the album
>>61997294
plebs live among us
>>62002581
I just think it's funny and I have the image of him randomly taking the mic of Cale.
>>61997016
I'd listen to it for the instrumental track alone. I wish the Velvets did more extended instrumentals in the same vein as James Brown recorded many albums worth of instrumentals.
>>61997016
It's the best track the first few times. As >>61997294 said, it becomes a total drag after that. "Here She Comes Now" and the title track are the best.
