Is this the most accurate representation of /mu/core?

The guy who made the most popular thread admitted that he used it to increase discussion of Untrue and STGSTV, both albums that are not discussed enough to be considered /mu/core over other albums he cut.

I made this one, not to viral albums that I personally like, but to accurately represent the most widely discussed albums on this board.

>inb4
>"/mu/core is s-s-shit"
The point of this chart is not the quality of the music, it's what receives the most discussion on this board.

>"put ______ in instead"
No, at this current point in time these are the albums that receive discussion most frequently on /mu/. If that album was popular enough to be a contender, it would be in the chart.

its best when asking non /mu/-fags. Being one (only been here for a couple months), I only know the memes: potato/tamborine head with dress, screaming red man, fish face man, the death grips, black and white swimming heads, white mountains/Kid A, and talking heads album. is weezer really that /mu/?
>>
>>61994939
>black and white swimming heads
>>
>>61994939
>white mountains/kid A
why is this so funny to me?
>>
>>61994939
Pinkerton is pretty widely discussed album here, the Blue s/t is as well. The rest of their discography is pretty much universally agreed to be shit, and therefore ignored.
>>
>>61994939
Also I remember one with hands on it with a red background.

>>

This is the most accurate representation I've seen. Except it's much more common to see people trashing Pinkerton than actually trying to start genuine discussion.

Certainly not enough to be on the chart

Fuck, I knew I forgot something. Revised it earlier by replacing Exmil with TMS and American Football with Soundtracks. Guess I forgot to replace Pinkerton with Pet Sounds, which I had planned to do.

Well, here's what I think is the perfect chart of the most discussed albums on this board. I think people should definitely use this one over the chart that has Untrue and STGSTV.
>>
MPP is the worst album ever made by a group of talentless hacks

Pinkerton is shit
American Football is shit
MBDTF is shit

Plebs get off my board
>>
>>61996745
>Pinkerton is shit
What the fuck happened to /mu/
>>
>>61996745
>some new tripfag thinks their opinion matters

At least CLT and Tallis were articulate, this new wave of tripfags is really lacking.
>>
>>61996698
You'd be surprised by the amount is got recently. Someone organized a poll to find /mu/s favorite albums of all time, over 4 or 5 different threads before voting.

Laughing Stock and In The Aeroplane Over The Sea were the top picks, before some kids from HHH and KTT came on and meme'd the shit out of Barter 6.

>>61996745
The OP you fucking retarded trip. Also AF isn't even on the chart, besides the fact that I never spoke about the quality of those albums.

>>61996775
/mu/ has gotten shittier over time. No matter how much effort you bother putting into starting discussion of an artist or album, most of the time the first reply you'll get is from an ignorant shitposter or someone spamming memes. I mean this place was never great but it's sad how low it has gone.

>Laughing Stock
I just never actually see any discussion about it. I see the album cover posted a lot in reference to it but nobody actually talks about it. I was always under the impression it had a similar reception to Pink Moon

>/mu/ has gotten shittier over time
This. I've only been on here like 3 years or so and even in that time it's fallen pretty hard. There's always been memeing and shitposting but it wasn't ever this hard to legitimately talk about music before. Maybe Fantano's partially to blame for publicly discussing /mu/ on Youtube.

this isn't a place for the discussion of /mu/core, there's already another thread in the catalog for that

>>61997027
I mean I'm just a guy who's been on here long enough to know that this board wasn't always as shitty as you fucking retarded trips end up making it. Too bad you fucking idiots are way too obnoxious and dismissive even of quality posts, makes it a waste of time to bother typing out something thoughtful.

I'd rather take trip celebrity /mu/ over the current situation any day.
>>
>>61997043
woah dont get so mad little guy its just a website
>>61997080
why would i encourage these threads where ultimately nothing happens? you know all these albums, these threads arent helping you expand your taste or discover new music at all
>>
>>61997168
If you want to discover new music, there are plenty of other threads in the catalog for you to bother with. In fact, why don't you go start your own if you care so much?

This particular thread is a one time thing to produce a chart that accurately shows the most popular albums on the board.

I literally never see MPP discussed other than acrimoniously in /mu/core threads. It was all over this board for one or two years after its release and now its forgotten other than its presence on the /mu/core chart. Think about it, when was the last time you saw a thread with MPP as the OP image? its been at least a year for me. In that time I've seen multiple threads with Spirit They've Gone, Feels, Sung Tongs, and Strawberry Jam. Having Merriweather Post as the one /mu/core AC album just doesn't hold up anymore IMO.
