What's the comfiest album you've ever heard, /mu/?
This one
Nice selections, guys.
>>61988094
Showed this to some friends last night.. They absolutely loved it.
>>61988145
showed this and Amnesiac to my friend who knew about but didn't love Radiohead. She's totally getting into them.
Fighting the good fight
Henry Cow - Legend
Even the album cover is comfy!
Avec Laudenum, obviously
>>61988145
This fo sho
It's perfect
Miles' turtleneck looks super comfy too
After enough times listening to this it becomes synthetic nostalgia, just full of those moments that stick and feel. Like that sound of moving glass, the long mid-segment of Austin Texas Mental Hospital or Mulholland. Such comfort.
Try and find something comfier than this. I dare you.
>>61988577
lol indeed.
>>61988810
Fuckn best album ever plantasia
Yes it is.

Honourable mention; Pet Sounds and Speak Now
Comfy and pretty melancholy
This is kinda comfy too
>>61991445
This album for the most part is anything but comfy. Your right with adore though.
>>61992826
I Believe In You is maximum comfy
I could be in any mood and it would make me happy
Carbon Based Lifeforms - Interloper

>>61988810

>>61988094

>>61988518
Comfy, but not as comfy as We Have the Facts.
>>61991445
Siamese Dream is way more comfy
>>61988810
Came here to post this, listening to it right now btw
No contest desu
>>61993950
>>61991454
I wouldn't call The Caretaker comfy really. I can see why you might, I just don't feel it myself.
idk about comfiest of all time, but pic related is certainly up there for me
>>61993950
Strange album. Nostalgic in a... "kitschy"-type way that prevents me from revisiting it very often.
>>61994256
defs not lmao
This album, with a joint.
>>61995045
It serves its purpose. (The Shining atmosphere)
>>61988580
absolutely this
Also this, Kyle Bobby Dunn and the Infinite Sadness
>>61995250
It's like an imitation Bioshock soundtrack that's not as enjoyable
>>61995345
>Bioshock soundtrack
are you serious?
>>61995398
Well, inasmuch as the old jazzy type shit goes.
I haven't played it in awhile and that's what I remember most about the music in the game, so maybe my memory's faulty as to how often it's present but whatever. Great game tho, still need to play Infinite
>>61995463
don't play infinite
>>61995463
>>61995509
Why? The new environment looked cool
>>61995514
Rude t b h
>>61993527
Correct
>>61995603
not that other anon and I haven't played it myself but supposedly gameplay-wise it's really mediocre (the fps sections in particular)
it's a shame because from what I've heard the world itself is supposed to be fucking wonderful
>>61987891
>>61988145
Yes
>>61988290
I don't know, it can be kind of abrasive and dissonant, which I don't really associate with comfy
>>61988328
>>61988444
Interested in hearing these
>>61988577
Yes
>>61988663
Need to listen again
>>61988810

>>61994014
>critical of something being too whimsical
>posts sung tongs
>>61994256
I actually have listened to this while lounging inside on a rainy day, so I understand
>>61994330
Ye
>>61994351
I guess
>>61995134
For the most part
>>61995240
I don't know, the production is kinda raw, and the electric guitar tracks get kinda gritty.
>>61995626
>>61995644
wew at that timing
def good choices, though honestly I just want to see a whole album that has the warm, comfy synth stylings of Geogaddi's intro desu
>>61995626
>>61995644
Woah, i met my boards of canada soulmate
>>61995603
Environment is all it has, the game itself is pretty horrendous in terms of gameplay and general design. Play it if you want, but don't pay for it please.
>>61995682
yeah sung tongs is whimsical, I was just saying that plantasia is mostly whimsy without much pure comfiness while sung tongs is simultaneously both at pretty much all times
>>61988145
This and pic related for me
either this or illmatic. 90s nyc rap is bretty comfy in general
>>61995699
Yeah, I have a ripped copy on my comp that I haven't even opened. Guess I'll be binning it
>>61995626
>>61995644
My niggas. Especially MHTRTC poster. I think TCH is overall objectively more comfy but I have a soft spot for MHTRTC due to it being my first. I think it has an eerie, sometimes unsettling tone to it that some people wouldn't classify as "comfy" necessarily
I don't have specific albums, but classical can be all kinds of comfy, very cathartic too:

>>61995734
I'd argue that tracks 9, 10 and 11 particularly have some wild and uncomfortable moments. Not that I don't appreciate that aspect of their music, but it's not exactly what I would call comfy.
>>61996207
I can see that though I'd say the end of 9, all of 10 and the second half of 11 are still super comfy
>>61995797
>but I have a soft spot for MHTRTC due to it being my first
so you're saying it figuratively popped your BoC butt cherry
>I think it has an eerie, sometimes unsettling tone to it that some people wouldn't classify as "comfy" necessarily
Sure, but that side of it never really becomes overbearing. I'd say it's more melancholic than eerie. Now if you said Geogaddi, that I would agree with.
listening to this on acid in a bubble bath changed my life, would definitely recommend
top 5 comfiest
>>61995693
listen to the FEZ soundtrack by Disasterpeace. most of it is kind of ambient chiptune and it sounds a bit like geogaddi. Don't get scared off by the more conventionally chiptune first track
>>61996948
While I remember checking out that soundtrack before and not really caring for it the fact that you're saying it's like Geogaddi is pretty enticing, will check it out
Also I'm fairly into chiptune so that shouldn't be a problem
>>61997039
Wow, this is actually really great, sounds like a cross between Geogaddi and Ilkae or Zebra
Thanks anon
>>61997039
yeah, the BoC influences are actually pretty heavy on it. And hey! someone else on /mu/ who doesn't think all chiptune is a meme! wow
>>61997112
>>61997161
this is what happens when i forget to click update
glad to hear you like it!
>>61997161
there's some fucking great chiptune out there, shame that so many people see it as 'le neckbeard /v/ genre' (especially considering it's more of an aesthetic/compositional limitation rather than an actual genre)
in keeping with this thread here's a great chiptune album/compilation that has some comfy tunes on it
>>61987891
this or Animals
>>61997237
>>61995682
Brazilian bossa-nova albums are the best ones to chill
>>61996586
I agree, this is in my top comfy albums for sure
Don't know why, Its just really comfy..
The Disintegration Loops by William Basinski (:
>>61994316
It's like you read my mind, anon
